1 These are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel the son of She-alti-el, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Voici les prêtres et les lévites qui revinrent avec Zorobabel, fils de Shéaltiel, et Josué: Seraya,Yirmeya, Esdras,

5 Mijamin, Ma-adiah, Bilgah,	5 Miyyamîn, Maadya, Bilga,
6 Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,	6 Shemaya; plus: Yoyarib, Yedaya,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.	7 Sallu, Amoq, Hilqiyya, Yedaya. Tels étaient les chefs des prêtres, et leurs frères, au temps deJosué,
8 And the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmi-el, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who with his brethren was in charge of the songs of thanksgiving.	8 c'est-à-dire les lévites, étaient: Josué, Binnuï, Qadmiel, Shérébya, Yehuda, Mattanya - ce dernier,avec ses frères, dirigeait les hymnes d'action de grâces,
9 And Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren stood opposite them in the service.	9 tandis que Baqbuqya, Unni et leurs frères leur faisaient vis-à-vis, selon leurs classes respectives.
10 And Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim the father of Eliashib, Eliashib the father of Joiada,	10 Josué engendra Yoyaqim; Yoyaqim engendra Elyashib; Elyashib Yoyada;
11 Joiada the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan the father of Jaddu-a.	11 Yoyada engendra Yohanân; et Yohanân engendra Yaddua.
12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers' houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;	12 Au temps de Yoyaqim, les familles sacerdotales avaient pour chefs: famille de Seraya: Meraya;famille de Yirmeya: Hananya;
13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;	13 famille d'Esdras: Meshullam; famille d'Amarya: Yehohanân;

18 of Bilgah, Shammu-a; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;	18 famille de Bilga: Shammua; famille de Shemaya: Yehonatân;
19 of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;	19 plus: famille de Yoyarib: Mattenaï; famille de Yedaya: Uzzi;
20 of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;	20 famille de Sallaï: Qallaï; famille d'Amoq: Eber;

22 As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddu-a, there were recorded the heads of fathers' houses; also the priests until the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 Au temps d'Elyashib, de Yoyada, de Yohanân et de Yaddua, les chefs des familles des prêtresfurent enregistrés sur le livre des Chroniques jusqu'au règne de Darius le Perse.
23 The sons of Levi, heads of fathers' houses, were written in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.	23 Les fils de Lévi. Les chefs des familles furent enregistrés sur le livre des Chroniques, maisseulement jusqu'au temps de Yohanân, petit-fils d'Elyashib.
24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmi-el, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch corresponding to watch.	24 Les chefs des lévites étaient: Hashabya, Shérébya, Josué, Binnuï, Qadmiel; et leurs frères, quileur faisaient face pour exécuter les hymnes de louange et d'action de grâces selon les instructions de David,homme de Dieu, une classe correspondante à l'autre,
25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers standing guard at the storehouses of the gates.	25 étaient: Mattanya, Baqbuqya et Obadya. Quant à Meshullam, Talmôn et Aqqub, portiers, ilsmontaient la garde aux magasins près des portes.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest the scribe.	26 Ceux-ci vivaient au temps de Yoyaqim, fils de Josué, fils de Yoçadaq, et au temps de Néhémiele gouverneur et d'Esdras le prêtre-scribe.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, with cymbals, harps, and lyres.	27 Lors de la dédicace du rempart de Jérusalem, on alla chercher les lévites partout où ils résidaientpour les amener à Jérusalem: il s'agissait de célébrer la dédicace dans la liesse avec chants d'action de grâces etmusique de cymbales, de luths et de cithares.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered together from the circuit round Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites;	28 Les chantres, fils de Lévi, se rassemblèrent donc, du district qui entoure Jérusalem, des villagesdes Netophatites,
29 also from Beth-gilgal and from the region of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.	29 de Bet-ha-Gilgal, des champs de Géba et d'Azmavèt: car les chantres s'étaient construit desvillages tout autour de Jérusalem.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people and the gates and the wall.	30 Prêtres et lévites se purifièrent eux-mêmes, puis ils purifièrent le peuple, les portes et le rempart.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies which gave thanks and went in procession. One went to the right upon the wall to the Dung Gate;	31 Je fis alors monter les chefs de Juda sur le rempart et organisai deux grands choeurs. Le premierchemina par la crête du rempart, vers la droite, en direction de la porte du Fumier;
32 and after them went Hoshaiah and half of the princes of Judah,	32 derrière lui marchaient Hoshaya et une moitié des chefs de Juda -
33 and Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,	33 ainsi qu'Azarya, Esdras, Meshullam,
34 Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,	34 Yehuda, Benjamin, Shemaya et Yirmeya,
35 and certain of the priests' sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;	35 choisis parmi les prêtres et munis de trompettes; puis Zekarya, fils de Yonatân, fils de Shemaya,fils de Mattanya, fils de Mika, fils de Zakkur, fils d'Asaph,
36 and his kinsmen, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe went before them.	36 avec ses frères Shemaya, Azaréel, Milalaï, Gilalaï, Maaï, Netanéel, Yehuda, Hanani, munis desinstruments de musique de David, l'homme de Dieu. 37 At the Fountain Gate they went up straight before them by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, to the Water Gate on the east.	37 A la porte de la Fontaine, ils montèrent droit devant eux, près des escaliers de la Cité de David,par la crête du rempart, et par la montée du Palais de David, jusqu'à la porte des Eaux, à l'orient.
38 The other company of those who gave thanks went to the left, and I followed them with half of the people, upon the wall, above the Tower of the Ovens, to the Broad Wall,	38 Quant au second choeur, il chemina vers la gauche: je le suivis, avec la moitié des chefs dupeuple, par la crête du rempart, par-dessus la tour des Fours et jusqu'à la muraille large,
39 and above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate, and by the Fish Gate and the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of the Hundred, to the Sheep Gate; and they came to a halt at the Gate of the Guard.	39 puis par-dessus la porte d'Ephraïm, la porte des Poissons, la tour de Hananéel et la tour desCent, jusqu'à la porte des Brebis; on fit halte à la porte de la Garde.
40 So both companies of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I and half of the officials with me;	40 Les deux choeurs prirent ensuite place dans le Temple de Dieu. - J'avais avec moi une moitiédes magistrats
41 and the priests Eliakim, Ma-aseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Eli-o-enai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;	41 ainsi que les prêtres Elyaqim, Maaséya, Minyamîn, Mika, Elyoénaï, Zekarya, Hananya, munisde trompettes,
42 and Ma-aseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang with Jezrahiah as their leader.	42 plus Maaséya, Shemaya, Eléazar, Uzzi, Yehohanân, Malkiyya, Elam et Ezer. - Les chantres sefirent entendre sous la direction de Yizrahya.
43 And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.	43 On offrit ce jour-là d'importants sacrifices et les gens se livrèrent à la joie: c'est que Dieu leuravait accordé grand sujet de joie; les femmes aussi et les enfants se réjouirent. Et la joie de Jérusalem s'entenditde loin.
44 On that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the first fruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.	44 En ce temps-là, on préposa aux salles prévues pour les provisions, prélèvements, prémices etdîmes, des hommes qui y rassembleraient, du territoire des villes, les parts que la Loi alloue aux prêtres et auxlévites. Car Juda mettait sa joie dans les prêtres et les lévites en fonction.
45 And they performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did the singers and the gatekeepers, according to the command of David and his son Solomon.	45 Ce sont eux qui assuraient le service de leur Dieu et le service des purifications - ainsi que leschantres et les portiers -, suivant les prescriptions de David et de Salomon son fils.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.	46 Car dès les jours de David et d'Asaph, depuis bien longtemps, il existait un chef des chantres etdes cantiques de louange et d'action de grâces à Dieu.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.	47 Donc tout Israël, au temps de Zorobabel et au temps de Néhémie, versait aux chantres et auxportiers les parts qui leur revenaient, d'après leurs besoins quotidiens. On remettait aux lévites les redevancessacrées et les lévites les remettaient aux fils d'Aaron.
