1 And David spoke to the LORD the words of this song on the day when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.	1 (Or) David adressa au Seigneur les paroles de ce cantique, quand le Seigneur l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül.
2 He said, "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer,	2 Et il dit : Le Seigneur est mon rocher, ma force et mon sauveur.
3 my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; thou savest me from violence.	3 C'est mon Dieu fort, j'espérerai en lui ; il est mon bouclier et mon salut ; il m'élève en haut, il est mon refuge. Mon Sauveur, vous me délivrerez de l'iniquité.
4 I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.	4 J'invoquerai le Seigneur digne de (toute) louange(s), et je serai délivré de mes ennemis.
5 "For the waves of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me;	5 Les douleurs (brisements) de la mort m'ont entouré ; les torrents de Bélial m'ont épouvanté.
6 the cords of Sheol entangled me, the snares of death confronted me.	6 Les liens de l'enfer m'ont environné, les filets (lacs) de la mort m'ont enveloppé.
7 "In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I called. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry came to his ears.	7 Dans ma tribulation j'invoquerai le Seigneur, et je crierai vers mon Dieu ; et de son temple il entendra ma voix, et mes cris viendront à ses oreilles.
8 "Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry.	8 La terre s'est émue, et a tremblé, les fondements des montagnes ont été agités et ébranlés, parce que le Seigneur était irrité contre eux.
9 Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him.	9 La (Une) fumée est montée de ses narines, un feu dévorant est sorti de sa bouche, et des charbons en ont été embrasés (allumés).
10 He bowed the heavens, and came down; thick darkness was under his feet.	10 Il a abaissé les cieux, et il est descendu ; une épaisse nuée était sous ses pieds.
11 He rode on a cherub, and flew; he was seen upon the wings of the wind.	11 Il est monté sur les (des) chérubins et a pris son vol ; il a volé sur les ailes des vents.
12 He made darkness around him his canopy, thick clouds, a gathering of water.	12 Il s'est caché dans les ténèbres qui l'environnaient ; il a fait distiller les eaux des nuées du ciel.
13 Out of the brightness before him coals of fire flamed forth.	13 L'éclat (La lumière) qui brille devant lui a allumé des charbons de feu.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice.	14 Le Seigneur a tonné (tonnera) du ciel, le Très-Haut a fait retentir (élèvera) sa voix.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and routed them.	15 Il a lancé des flèches, et il a dispersé mes ennemis (les a dissipés) ; ses foudres (la foudre), et il les a consumés.
16 Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were laid bare, at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.	16 (Alors) La mer s'est ouverte jusqu'aux abîmes, et les fondements du monde ont été découverts, à cause des menaces du Seigneur, et du souffle des tempêtes (du vent) de sa colère.
17 "He reached from on high, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.	17 Il a étendu sa main des hauteurs du ciel (a envoyé d'en haut) ; il m'a saisi, et m'a retiré du milieu des eaux.
18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me.	18 Il m'a délivré d'un (de mon) ennemi très puissant, et de ceux qui me haïssaient ; car ils étaient plus forts que moi.
19 They came upon me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was my stay.	19 Il m'a prévenu au jour de mon affliction, et le Seigneur a été mon (ferme) appui.
20 He brought me forth into a broad place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.	20 Il m'a mis au large ; il m'a délivré, parce que je lui ai plu.
21 "The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me.	21 Le Seigneur me rendra selon ma justice, et il me traitera selon la pureté de mes mains.
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.	22 Car j'ai gardé les voies du Seigneur, et je n'ai pas été impie envers (en m'éloignant de) mon Dieu.
23 For all his ordinances were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside.	23 Toutes ses ordonnances (jugements) ont été devant moi, et je ne me suis pas détourné de ses préceptes.
24 I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt.	24 Je serai parfait avec lui ; je me tiendrai sur mes gardes contre mon iniquité.
25 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.	25 Et le Seigneur me rendra selon ma justice, et selon que mes mains seront pures devant ses yeux.
26 "With the loyal thou dost show thyself loyal; with the blameless man thou dost show thyself blameless;	26 Vous serez saint avec les saints, et parfait avec les forts.
27 with the pure thou dost show thyself pure, and with the crooked thou dost show thyself perverse.	27 Vous serez pur (excellent) avec les purs (hommes excellents), et vous paraîtrez méchant avec les méchants.
28 Thou dost deliver a humble people, but thy eyes are upon the haughty to bring them down.	28 Vous sauverez le pauvre peuple, et de vos regards vous humilierez les superbes.
29 Yea, thou art my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness.	29 Seigneur, vous êtes ma lampe, c'est vous, Seigneur, qui éclairez mes ténèbres.
30 Yea, by thee I can crush a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.	30 Par (Car avec) vous je cours tout prêt à combattre ; avec mon Dieu je franchis la muraille.
31 This God--his way is perfect; the promise of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.	31 La voie de Dieu est irrépréhensible (sans tache) ; la parole du Seigneur est éprouvée par le feu ; il est le bouclier de tous ceux qui espèrent en lui.
32 "For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?	32 Qui est Dieu si ce n'est le Seigneur ? qui est fort si ce n'est notre Dieu ?
33 This God is my strong refuge, and has made my way safe.	33 C'est lui qui m'a revêtu de force, qui a aplani la voie parfaite où je marche ;
34 He made my feet like hinds' feet, and set me secure on the heights.	34 qui a rendu mes pieds aussi agiles que ceux des cerfs, et qui m'a placé sur mes lieux élevés ;
35 He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.	35 qui instruit mes mains à combattre, et qui rend mes bras (fermes) comme un arc d'airain.
36 Thou hast given me the shield of thy salvation, and thy help made me great.	36 Vous m'avez donné le bouclier de votre protection (salut), et votre bonté m'a grandi (multiplié).
37 Thou didst give a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip;	37 Vous avez élargi le chemin sous mes pas (agrandirez mes pas sous moi), et mes pieds (talons) n'ont point chancelé (ne chancelleront point).
38 I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, and did not turn back until they were consumed.	38 Je poursuivrai mes ennemis, et je les détruirai ; (et) je ne reviendrai pas sans les avoir anéantis.
39 I consumed them; I thrust them through, so that they did not rise; they fell under my feet.	39 Je les anéantirai, et je les briserai, sans qu'ils puissent se relever ; ils tomberont sous mes pieds.
40 For thou didst gird me with strength for the battle; thou didst make my assailants sink under me.	40 Vous m'avez revêtu de force pour le combat ; vous avez fait plier sous moi ceux qui me résistaient.
41 Thou didst make my enemies turn their backs to me, those who hated me, and I destroyed them.	41 Vous avez fait tourner le dos à mes ennemis (m'avez livré mes ennemis par derrière), à ceux qui me haïssaient et je les exterminerai.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; they cried to the LORD, but he did not answer them.	42 Ils crieront, et personne ne les sauvera ; ils crieront au Seigneur, et il ne les écoutera point.
43 I beat them fine as the dust of the earth, I crushed them and stamped them down like the mire of the streets.	43 Je les broierai (dissiperai) comme la poussière de la terre ; je les écraserai, et je les foulerai comme la boue des rues.
44 "Thou didst deliver me from strife with the peoples; thou didst keep me as the head of the nations; people whom I had not known served me.	44 Vous me délivrerez des contradictions de mon peuple ; vous me conserverez pour être le chef des nations ; un peuple que j'ignore me sera asservi.
45 Foreigners came cringing to me; as soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me.	45 Des enfants étrangers me résisteront ; mais ils m'obéiront en entendant ma voix.
46 Foreigners lost heart, and came trembling out of their fastnesses.	46 Les (Des) enfants étrangers se fondront comme la cire, et ils trembleront de peur (seront resserrés) dans leurs retraites cachées (défilés).
47 "The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation,	47 Vive le Seigneur, et que mon Dieu soit béni ; que le Dieu fort, le Dieu qui me sauve soit (sera) glorifié.
48 the God who gave me vengeance and brought down peoples under me,	48 C'est vous, mon Dieu, qui me vengez, et qui abattez les peuples sous moi ;
49 who brought me out from my enemies; thou didst exalt me above my adversaries, thou didst deliver me from men of violence.	49 qui me délivrez de mes ennemis, qui m'élevez au-dessus de ceux qui me résistent ; vous me sauverez de l'homme injuste.
50 "For this I will extol thee, O LORD, among the nations, and sing praises to thy name.	50 C'est pourquoi je vous louerai, Seigneur, parmi les nations, et je chanterai en l'honneur de votre nom ;
51 Great triumphs he gives to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David, and his descendants for ever."	51 vous qui accordez de grandes délivrances à votre (exalte les victoires de son) roi, qui faites miséricorde à David votre oint (christ), et à sa race à tout jamais.
