Psalms 42

1 A Psalm of David. Judge me, O God, and discern my cause from that of a nation not holy; rescue me from a man unjust and deceitful.	1 Faz-me justiça, ó Deus, e defende a minha causa contra uma gente não santa; livra-me do homem enganador e iníquo,
2 For you are God, my strength. Why have you rejected me? And why do I walk in sadness, while the adversary afflicts me?	2 porque tu és, ó Deus, a minha fortaleza: por que me repeliste? Por que ando triste, sob a opressão do meu inimigo?
3 Send forth your light and your truth. They have guided me and led me, to your holy mountain and into your tabernacles.	3 Envia a tua luz e a tua fidelidade: elas me guiem, me conduzam ao teu santo monte e aos teus tabernáculos.
4 And I will enter, up to the altar of God, to God who enlivens my youthfulness. To you, O God, my God, I will confess upon a stringed instrument.	4 E subirei ao altar de Deus, ao Deus do meu júbilo e da minha alegria, e te louvarei ao som da citara, ó Deus, Deus meu!
5 Why are you sad, my soul? And why do you disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance and my God.	5 Por que te deprimes, minha alma? Por que te conturbas dentro de mim? Espera em Deus, porque novamente o hei-de louvar, (a ele que é) a salvação do meu rosto e o meu Deus.
