Revelation 11

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Then I was given a long cane like a measuring rod, and I was told, 'Get up and measure God'ssanctuary, and the altar, and the people who worship there;	1 Mi fu data una canna, simile a verga, con questo comando: "Orsù, prendi le misure del tempio di Dio e dell'altare con quanti ivi fanno adorazione.
2 but exclude the outer court and do not measure it, because it has been handed over to gentiles -- theywil trample on the holy city for forty-two months.	2 Ma l'atrio esterno del tempio lascialo fuori, non lo misurare. Infatti è stato concesso ai gentili di calpestare la Città santa per quarantadue mesi.
3 But I shall send my two witnesses to prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, wearing sackcloth.	3 Ma io invierò i due Testimoni a esercitare il loro ministero profetico, vestiti di sacco, per milleduecentosessanta giorni".
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lamps in attendance on the Lord of the world.	4 Sono essi i due ulivi e i due candelabri che stanno davanti al Signore della terra.
5 Fire comes from their mouths and consumes their enemies if anyone tries to harm them; and anyonewho tries to harm them will certainly be kil ed in this way.	5 Se per caso qualcuno vorrà far loro del male, uscirà dalla loro bocca un fuoco che divorerà i loro nemici; perciò se qualcuno volesse far loro del male, in quella maniera dovrà morire.
6 They have the power to lock up the sky so that it does not rain as long as they are prophesying; theyhave the power to turn water into blood and strike the whole world with any plague as often as they like.	6 Essi avranno potere di chiudere il cielo, in modo che non scenda la pioggia per tutto il tempo del loro ministero profetico. Inoltre avranno facoltà di cambiare l'acqua in sangue e di colpire la terra con ogni specie di flagelli, ogni volta che lo vorranno.
7 When they have completed their witnessing, the beast that comes out of the Abyss is going to makewar on them and overcome them and kil them.	7 Una volta terminato il tempo della loro testimonianza, la bestia che sale dall'Abisso combatterà contro di loro, li vincerà e li ucciderà.
8 Their corpses lie in the main street of the great city known by the symbolic names Sodom and Egypt,in which their Lord was crucified.	8 Quindi i loro cadaveri rimarranno esposti nella piazza della grande città, che si chiama allegoricamente Sodoma o Egitto, proprio dove il loro Signore fu crocifisso.
9 People of every race, tribe, language and nation stare at their corpses, for three-and-a-half days, notletting them be buried,	9 Contempleranno i loro cadaveri per tre giorni e mezzo uomini di ogni razza, popolo, lingua e nazione, impedendo che essi siano messi nella tomba.
10 and the people of the world are glad about it and celebrate the event by giving presents to eachother, because these two prophets have been a plague to the people of the world.'	10 Gli abitanti della terra faranno festa su di loro, manifesteranno la loro gioia scambiandosi doni; perché questi due profeti hanno tormentato gli abitanti della terra.
11 After the three-and-a-half days, God breathed life into them and they stood up on their feet, andeverybody who saw it happen was terrified;	11 Ma dopo tre giorni e mezzo un soffio vitale, proveniente da Dio, entrò in loro e si rizzarono sui loro piedi, mentre tutti quelli che li guardavano furono presi da grande spavento.
12 then I heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, 'Come up here,' and while their enemies werewatching, they went up to heaven in a cloud.	12 Udirono quindi una gran voce dal cielo che disse loro: "Salite quassù!". Essi salirono nel cielo su una nuvola e i loro nemici rimasero a guardarli.
13 Immediately, there was a violent earthquake, and a tenth of the city col apsed; seven thousandpersons were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors, overcome with fear, could only praise the God ofheaven.	13 In quel momento avvenne un gran terremoto, per cui crollò la decima parte della città. E morirono nel terremoto settemila persone. I superstiti, presi dallo spavento, diedero gloria al Dio del cielo.
14 That was the second of the disasters; the third is to come quickly after it.	14 Il secondo "guai" è passato; ma ecco: il terzo "guai" viene presto.
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and voices could be heard shouting in heaven, calling,'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and his Christ, and he wil reign for ever andever.'	15 Finalmente il settimo angelo suonò la sua tromba: si levarono nel cielo grandi clamori: "E' passata la regalità del mondo al nostro Signore e al suo Cristo, che regnerà nei secoli dei secoli!".
16 The twenty-four elders, enthroned in the presence of God, prostrated themselves and touched theground with their foreheads worshipping God	16 Allora i ventiquattro Seniori, che sedevano davanti a Dio sui loro seggi, si prostrarono davanti a Dio in atto di adorazione dicendo:
17 with these words, 'We give thanks to you, Almighty Lord God, He who is, He who was, for assumingyour great power and beginning your reign.	17 "Rendiamo grazie a te, Signore Dio, Onnipotente, che sei e che eri, poiché hai posto mano alla tua infinita potenza e hai instaurato il tuo regno.
18 The nations were in uproar and now the time has come for your retribution, and for the dead to bejudged, and for your servants the prophets, for the saints and for those who fear your name, smal and greatalike, to be rewarded. The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.'	18 Sì, le nazioni si sono adirate, ma è giunta la tua ira, è giunto il tempo di giudicare i morti, di dare il premio ai tuoi servi, profeti e santi, e a quanti temono il tuo nome piccoli e grandi, e di far perire per sempre quelli che sconvolgono la terra".
19 Then the sanctuary of God in heaven opened, and the ark of the covenant could be seen inside it.Then came flashes of lightning, peals of thunder and an earthquake and violent hail.	19 Allora il tempio celeste di Dio s'aprì e in esso apparve l'arca della sua alleanza; vi furono lampi, grida e tuoni insieme a scosse di terremoto e grandine abbondante.
