Revelation 11

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Then I was given a long cane like a measuring rod, and I was told, 'Get up and measure God'ssanctuary, and the altar, and the people who worship there;	1 Puis on me donna un roseau, une sorte de baguette, en me disant: "Lève-toi pour mesurer leTemple de Dieu, l'autel et les adorateurs qui s'y trouvent;
2 but exclude the outer court and do not measure it, because it has been handed over to gentiles -- theywil trample on the holy city for forty-two months.	2 quant au parvis extérieur du Temple, laisse-le, ne le mesure pas, car on l'a donné aux païens:ils fouleront la Ville Sainte durant 42 mois.
3 But I shall send my two witnesses to prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, wearing sackcloth.	3 Mais je donnerai à mes deux témoins de prophétiser pendant 1.260 jours, revêtus de sacs."
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lamps in attendance on the Lord of the world.	4 Ce sont les deux oliviers et les deux flambeaux qui se tiennent devant le Maître de la terre.
5 Fire comes from their mouths and consumes their enemies if anyone tries to harm them; and anyonewho tries to harm them will certainly be kil ed in this way.	5 Si l'on s'avisait de les malmener, un feu jaillirait de leur bouche pour dévorer leurs ennemis;oui, qui s'aviserait de les malmener, c'est ainsi qu'il lui faudrait périr.
6 They have the power to lock up the sky so that it does not rain as long as they are prophesying; theyhave the power to turn water into blood and strike the whole world with any plague as often as they like.	6 Ils ont pouvoir de clore le ciel afin que nulle pluie ne tombe durant le temps de leur mission;ils ont aussi pouvoir sur les eaux, de les changer en sang, et pouvoir de frapper la terre de mille fléaux, aussisouvent qu'ils le voudront.
7 When they have completed their witnessing, the beast that comes out of the Abyss is going to makewar on them and overcome them and kil them.	7 Mais quand ils auront fini de rendre témoignage, la Bête qui surgit de l'Abîme viendraguerroyer contre eux, les vaincre et les tuer.
8 Their corpses lie in the main street of the great city known by the symbolic names Sodom and Egypt,in which their Lord was crucified.	8 Et leurs cadavres, sur la place de la Grande Cité, Sodome ou Egypte comme on l'appellesymboliquement, là où leur Seigneur aussi fut crucifié,
9 People of every race, tribe, language and nation stare at their corpses, for three-and-a-half days, notletting them be buried,	9 leurs cadavres demeurent exposés aux regards des peuples, des races, des langues et desnations, durant trois jours et demi, sans qu'il soit permis de les mettre au tombeau.
10 and the people of the world are glad about it and celebrate the event by giving presents to eachother, because these two prophets have been a plague to the people of the world.'	10 Les habitants de la terre s'en réjouissent et s'en félicitent; ils échangent des présents, car cesdeux prophètes leur avaient causé bien des tourments.
11 After the three-and-a-half days, God breathed life into them and they stood up on their feet, andeverybody who saw it happen was terrified;	11 Mais, passés les trois jours et demi, Dieu leur infusa un souffle de vie qui les remit sur pieds,au grand effroi de ceux qui les regardaient.
12 then I heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, 'Come up here,' and while their enemies werewatching, they went up to heaven in a cloud.	12 J'entendis alors une voix puissante leur crier du ciel: "Montez ici!" Ils montèrent donc au cieldans la nuée, aux yeux de leurs ennemis.
13 Immediately, there was a violent earthquake, and a tenth of the city col apsed; seven thousandpersons were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors, overcome with fear, could only praise the God ofheaven.	13 A cette heure-là, il se fit un violent tremblement de terre, et le dixième de la ville croula, etdans le cataclysme périrent 7.000 personnes. Les survivants, saisis d'effroi, rendirent gloire au Dieu du ciel.
14 That was the second of the disasters; the third is to come quickly after it.	14 Le deuxième "Malheur" a passé, voici que le troisième accourt!
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and voices could be heard shouting in heaven, calling,'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and his Christ, and he wil reign for ever andever.'	15 Et le septième Ange sonna... Alors, au ciel, des voix clamèrent: "La royauté du monde estacquise à notre Seigneur ainsi qu'à son Christ; il régnera dans les siècles des siècles."
16 The twenty-four elders, enthroned in the presence of God, prostrated themselves and touched theground with their foreheads worshipping God	16 Et les 24 Vieillards qui sont assis devant Dieu, sur leurs sièges, se prosternèrent pour adorerDieu en disant:
17 with these words, 'We give thanks to you, Almighty Lord God, He who is, He who was, for assumingyour great power and beginning your reign.	17 "Nous te rendons grâce, Seigneur, Dieu Maître-de-tout, Il est et Il était, parce que tu as pris enmain ton immense puissance pour établir ton règne.
18 The nations were in uproar and now the time has come for your retribution, and for the dead to bejudged, and for your servants the prophets, for the saints and for those who fear your name, smal and greatalike, to be rewarded. The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.'	18 Les nations s'étaient mises en fureur; mais voici ta fureur à toi, et le temps pour les mortsd'être jugés; le temps de récompenser tes serviteurs les prophètes, les saints, et ceux qui craignent ton nom, petitset grands, et de perdre ceux qui perdent la terre."
19 Then the sanctuary of God in heaven opened, and the ark of the covenant could be seen inside it.Then came flashes of lightning, peals of thunder and an earthquake and violent hail.	19 Alors s'ouvrit le temple de Dieu, dans le ciel, et son arche d'alliance apparut, dans le temple;puis ce furent des éclairs et des voix et des tonnerres et un tremblement de terre, et la grêle tombait dru...
