Revelation 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Then I was given a long cane like a measuring rod, and I was told, 'Get up and measure God'ssanctuary, and the altar, and the people who worship there;	1 - E mi fu data una canna simile a un bastone, e mi fu detto: «Sorgi e misura il tempio di Dio e l'altare e coloro che in esso adorano;
2 but exclude the outer court and do not measure it, because it has been handed over to gentiles -- theywil trample on the holy city for forty-two months.	2 ma il cortile esterno del tempio lascialo fuori e non lo misurare, perchè fu dato ai Gentili, e calpesteranno la città santa per quarantadue mesi.
3 But I shall send my two witnesses to prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, wearing sackcloth.	3 E darò [ordine] ai due miei testimoni, e profetizzeranno milleduecentosessanta giorni, vestiti di sacco».
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lamps in attendance on the Lord of the world.	4 Essi sono i due olivi e i due candelabri che stanno al cospetto del Signore della terra.
5 Fire comes from their mouths and consumes their enemies if anyone tries to harm them; and anyonewho tries to harm them will certainly be kil ed in this way.	5 E se alcuno li vorrà offendere, uscirà fuoco dalla lor bocca e divorerà i loro nemici; e se alcuno li vorrà offendere, bisogna che così sia ucciso.
6 They have the power to lock up the sky so that it does not rain as long as they are prophesying; theyhave the power to turn water into blood and strike the whole world with any plague as often as they like.	6 Essi hanno il potere di chiudere il cielo, perchè non cada pioggia ne' giorni della loro profezia, e han potere sulle acque di mutarle in sangue, e di percuoter la terra con ogni piaga quante volte vogliano.
7 When they have completed their witnessing, the beast that comes out of the Abyss is going to makewar on them and overcome them and kil them.	7 E quando avran terminato la loro testimonianza, la bestia che vien su dall'abisso farà guerra contro di loro e li vincerà e li ucciderà.
8 Their corpses lie in the main street of the great city known by the symbolic names Sodom and Egypt,in which their Lord was crucified.	8 E i loro cadaveri giaceranno sulla piazza della grande città, che si chiama in senso spirituale Sodoma ed Egitto, dove anche il loro Signore fu crocifisso.
9 People of every race, tribe, language and nation stare at their corpses, for three-and-a-half days, notletting them be buried,	9 E [genti] d'ogni popolo e tribù e lingua e nazione guarderanno il loro cadavere per tre giorni e mezzo, e non permetteranno che questi loro cadaveri sian messi nel sepolcro.
10 and the people of the world are glad about it and celebrate the event by giving presents to eachother, because these two prophets have been a plague to the people of the world.'	10 E gli abitanti della terra godranno a motivo di loro e si rallegreranno, e si manderan doni gli uni gli altri, perchè questi due profeti han tormentato gli abitanti della terra.
11 After the three-and-a-half days, God breathed life into them and they stood up on their feet, andeverybody who saw it happen was terrified;	11 E dopo i tre giorni e mezzo, uno spirito di vita [proveniente] da Dio entrò in essi, e si rizzarono sui loro piedi, e un gran timore cadde addosso a chi li vide.
12 then I heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, 'Come up here,' and while their enemies werewatching, they went up to heaven in a cloud.	12 E udirono una gran voce del cielo, che diceva loro: «Salite quassù». E salirono al cielo nella nuvola, e li videro i loro nemici.
13 Immediately, there was a violent earthquake, and a tenth of the city col apsed; seven thousandpersons were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors, overcome with fear, could only praise the God ofheaven.	13 E in quel punto seguì un gran terremoto, e la decima parte della città rovinò, e furono uccise nel terremoto settemila persone umane, e i restanti furon colti da spavento e dettero gloria al Dio del cielo.
14 That was the second of the disasters; the third is to come quickly after it.	14 Il secondo «Guai!» è passato; ecco che il terzo «Guai!» vien presto.
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and voices could be heard shouting in heaven, calling,'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and his Christ, and he wil reign for ever andever.'	15 E il settimo angelo sonò la tromba, e seguiron grandi voci nel cielo, che dicevano: «Il regno del mondo è passato al Signor nostro e al suo Cristo, ed e' regnerà per i secoli de' secoli. Amen».
16 The twenty-four elders, enthroned in the presence of God, prostrated themselves and touched theground with their foreheads worshipping God	16 E i ventiquattro vecchi, che eran seduti sui lor troni al cospetto di Dio, caddero bocconi e adorarono Dio,
17 with these words, 'We give thanks to you, Almighty Lord God, He who is, He who was, for assumingyour great power and beginning your reign.	17 dicendo: «Ti ringraziamo, o Signore Iddio onnipotente, o tu che sei ed eri e verrai; perchè hai assunto la tua gran potenza e hai cominciato a regnare.
18 The nations were in uproar and now the time has come for your retribution, and for the dead to bejudged, and for your servants the prophets, for the saints and for those who fear your name, smal and greatalike, to be rewarded. The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.'	18 E le nazioni s'erano adirate, ed è venuta l'ira tua e il momento per i morti di esser giudicati, e di dar la mercede ai tuoi servi, i profeti, e ai santi e a quelli che temono il tuo nome, piccoli e grandi, e di distruggere i distruttori della terra».
19 Then the sanctuary of God in heaven opened, and the ark of the covenant could be seen inside it.Then came flashes of lightning, peals of thunder and an earthquake and violent hail.	19 E s'aprì il tempio di Dio nel cielo, e apparve l'arca della sua alleanza nel suo tempio, e seguiron lampi e voci [e tuoni] e terremoto e grandine molta.
