NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him so that he could tel his servants what is now to takeplace very soon; he sent his angel to make it known to his servant John,	1 Rivelazione di Gesù Cristo, datagli da Dio per far conoscere ai suoi servi ciò che deve presto accadere, e comunicata, per mezzo del suo Angelo, al suo servo Giovanni,
2 and John has borne witness to the Word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, everything that hesaw.	2 il quale ha attestato la parola di Dio e la testimonianza di Cristo in tutto quello che ha veduto.
3 Blessed is anyone who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed those who hear them, if theytreasure the content, because the Time is near.	3 Beato chi legge e ehi ascolta le parole dì questa profezia, e osserva le cose che vi sono scritte, perchè il tempo è vicino.
4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is tocome, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,	4 Giovanni alle sette Chiese dell'Asia. Grazia a voi e pace da Colui che è, che era, che ha da venire, e dai sette spiriti che stanno dinanzi al suo trono,
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. Heloves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,	5 e da Gesù Cristo, il fedele testimone, il Primogenito di fra i morti, il principe dei re della terra, il quale ci ha amati e ci ha lavati dai nostri peccati nel suo sangue,
6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.	6 e ci ha fatti regno e sacerdoti a Dio suo Padre; a lui gloria e impero nei secoli dei secoli. Così sia.
7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone wil see him, even those who pierced him, and all the racesof the earth wil mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.	7 Ecco che Egli viene sulle nubi; e ogni occhio lo vedrà, anche quelli che lo trafissero, e a causa di lui si batteranno il petto tutte le tribù della terra. Così è; così sia.
8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, theAlmighty.	8 « Io son l'Alfa e l'Omega, principio e fino » dico il Signore Dio, Colui che è, che era e che ha da venire, l'Onnipotente.
9 I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on theisland of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus;	9 Io, Giovanni, vostro fratello e compagno nella tribolazione, nel regno e nella pazienza in Cristo Gesù, mi trovai nell'isola chiamata Patmos, a causa della parola di Dio e della testimonianza resa a Gesù.
10 it was the Lord's Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of atrumpet, saying,	10 Fui rapito in estasi in giorno di domenica, e udii dietro a me una voce potente come di tromba,
11 'Write down in a book al that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'	11 la quale mi diceva: Quello che vedi scrivilo in un libro, e mandalo alle sette Chiese dell'Asia: a Efeso, a Smirne, a Pergamo, a Tiatira, a Sardi, a Filadelfia, a Laodicea.
12 I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands	12 Mi voltai per vedere chi mi parlava e, appena voltato, vidi sette candelabri d'oro,
13 and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt ofgold.	13 e, in mezzo ai candelabri d'oro, uno simile al figlio dell'uomo, vestito di abito talare e cinto il petto d'una fascia d'oro.
14 His head and his hair were white with the whiteness of wool, like snow, his eyes like a burning flame,	14 Aveva il capo e i capelli candidi come lana bianca, come neve; i suoi occhi eran come fuoco fiammante;
15 his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of theocean.	15 i suoi piedi simili a rame arroventato in una fornace; la sua voce era come il rumore di molte acque.
16 In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, andhis face was like the sun shining with all its force.	16 Nella destra teneva sette stelle; dalla sua bocca usciva una spada a due tagli; la sua faccia era come il sole, quando risplende in tutta la sua forza.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, 'Do not beafraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One,	17 E, veduto che l'ebbi, caddi ai suoi piedi come morto. Ed egli, posata sopra di me la sua destra, mi disse: Non temere: Io sono il primo e l'ultimo,
18 I was dead and look -- I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.	18 il Vivente, e fui morto, ed ecco io vivo nei secoli dei secoli, ed ho le chiavi della morte e dell'inferno.
19 Now write down al that you see of present happenings and what is stil to come.	19 Scrivi adunque le cose che hai vedute e quelle che sono e quelle che in seguito saranno,
20 The secret of the seven stars you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp-stands, isthis: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churchesthemselves.'	20 il mistero delle sette stelle che hai vedute nella mia destra, e i sette candelabri d'oro: le sette stelle sono gii Angeli delle sette Chiese, e i sette candelabri sono le sette Chiese.
