Revelation 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him so that he could tel his servants what is now to takeplace very soon; he sent his angel to make it known to his servant John,	1 - Rivelazione di Gesù Cristo, la quale Dio gli diede per indicare ai suoi servi le cose che debbono accadere tra breve, e ch'egli fece conoscere con l'invio del suo angelo al suo servo Giovanni,
2 and John has borne witness to the Word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, everything that hesaw.	2 il quale ha attestato la parola di Dio e la testimonianza di Gesù Cristo, [narrando] quanto vide.
3 Blessed is anyone who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed those who hear them, if theytreasure the content, because the Time is near.	3 Beato chi legge e chi ascolta le parole di questa profezia e osserva ciò ch'è scritto in essa. Il tempo infatti è vicino.
4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is tocome, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,	4 Giovanni alle sette chiese che sono nell'Asia: grazia a voi e pace da Colui che è e che era e che viene, e dai sette spiriti che stanno davanti al suo trono,
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. Heloves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,	5 e da Gesù Cristo, il testimonio fedele, il primogenito dei morti e il principe dei re della terra. A Colui che ci ha amato e ci lavò da' nostri peccati nel suo sangue,
6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.	6 e ci ha fatto un popolo regale e sacerdoti del suo Dio e padre, a lui la gloria e la potenza per i secoli de' secoli. Amen.
7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone wil see him, even those who pierced him, and all the racesof the earth wil mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.	7 Ecco ch'egli viene con le nuvole, e lo vedrà ogni occhio e coloro [altresì] che lo trafissero, e faran cordoglio per lui tutte le tribù della terra. Sì, amen!
8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, theAlmighty.	8 Io son l'alfa e l'omega, il principio e la fine, dice il Signore Iddio, colui che è e che era e che viene, l'Onnipotente.
9 I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on theisland of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus;	9 Io Giovanni, vostro fratello, compartecipe nella tribolazione e nel regno e nell'aspettazione in Gesù, mi trovai nell'isola chiamata Patmos a motivo della parola di Dio e della testimonianza di Gesù.
10 it was the Lord's Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of atrumpet, saying,	10 Fui [rapito] in spirito nel giorno del Signore; e udii dietro a me una gran voce come di tromba,
11 'Write down in a book al that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'	11 che diceva: «Ciò che tu vedi, scrivilo in un libro e mandalo alle sette chiese, che sono in Asia, ad Efeso, a Smirne, a Pergamo, a Tiatira, a Sardi, a Filadelfia e a Laodicea».
12 I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands	12 E mi voltai per veder la voce che parlava con me, e voltatomi vidi sette candelabri d'oro,
13 and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt ofgold.	13 e in mezzo ai candelabri [qualcuno] simile a un figliuolo d'uomo, vestito di tunica talare e cinto presso alle mammelle d'una fascia d'oro.
14 His head and his hair were white with the whiteness of wool, like snow, his eyes like a burning flame,	14 La sua testa e i capelli eran bianchi come la candida lana, come la neve; e i suoi occhi come fiamma di fuoco;
15 his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of theocean.	15 e i suoi piedi simili a oricalco, arroventato in fornace; e la sua voce come lo strepito di molte acque;
16 In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, andhis face was like the sun shining with all its force.	16 e aveva nella mano destra sette stelle, e dalla sua bocca usciva una spada a due tagli; e la sua faccia come il sole [allorchè] splende nella sua potenza.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, 'Do not beafraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One,	17 E quando lo vidi, caddi ai suoi piedi come morto; ed egli pose su me la sua destra, dicendo: «Non temere! Io sono il Primo e l'Ultimo,
18 I was dead and look -- I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.	18 e il Vivente: e fui morto, ed ecco son vivo per i secoli de' secoli, e ho le chiavi della morte e degli Inferi.
19 Now write down al that you see of present happenings and what is stil to come.	19 Scrivi dunque le cose che hai veduto, e quelle che son [già] e quelle che son per accadere in appresso.
20 The secret of the seven stars you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp-stands, isthis: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churchesthemselves.'	20 Il mistero delle sette stelle, che hai viste nella mia destra, e [de] i sette candelabri d'oro, [eccolo]: le sette stelle sono gli angeli delle sette chiese, e i sette candelabri son le sette chiese.
