1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him so that he could tel his servants what is now to takeplace very soon; he sent his angel to make it known to his servant John,	1 Rivelazione di Gesù Cristo, la quale diè a lui Dio per far conoscere a' suoi servi le cose, che debbon tosto accadere: ed ei mandò a significarla per mezzo del suo Angelo al suo servo Giovanni,
2 and John has borne witness to the Word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, everything that hesaw.	2 Il quale rendette testimonianza alla parola di Dio, e testimonianza di tutto quello, che vide di Gesù Cristo.
3 Blessed is anyone who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed those who hear them, if theytreasure the content, because the Time is near.	3 Beato chi legge, e chi ascolta le parole di questa profezia: e fa conservi delle cose, che sono in essa scritte imperocché il tempo è vicino.
4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is tocome, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,	4 Giovanni alle sette Chiese, che sono in Asia. Grazia a voi, e pace da colui, il quale è, il quale era, e il quale è per venire: e dai sette spiriti, i quali sono dinanzi al trono di lui;
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. Heloves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,	5 E da Gesù Cristo, che è il testimone fedele, primogenito di trai morti, e principe dei Re della terra, il quale ci ha amati, e ci ha lavati da' nostri peccati col proprio sangue,
6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.	6 E ci ha fatti regno, e sacerdoti a Dio Padre suo: a lui gloria, e imperio pe' secoli de' secoli: cosi sia.
7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone wil see him, even those who pierced him, and all the racesof the earth wil mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.	7 Ecco, che egli viene colle nubi, e vedrallo ogni occhio, anche coloro, che lo trafissero. E batteransi il petto a causa di lui tutte le tribù della terra: così è: cosi è:
8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, theAlmighty.	8 Io sono l'alfa, e l'omega, principio, e fine, dice il Signore Iddio, il quale è, il quale era, il quale è per venire, l'onnipotente.
9 I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on theisland of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus;	9 Io Giovanni vostro fratello, e compagno nella tribolazione, e nel regno, e nella pazienza in Gesù Cristo, mi trovai nell'isola, che si chiama Patmos, acausa della parola di Dio, e della testimonianza (renduta) a Gesù:
10 it was the Lord's Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of atrumpet, saying,	10 Fui in Ispirito in giorno di domenica, e udii dietro a me una voce grande come di tromba,
11 'Write down in a book al that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'	11 La qual diceva: scrivi quello, che vedi, in un libro: e mandalo alle sette Chiese, che sono in Asia, ad Efeso, ed a Smirne, ed a Pergamo, ed a Tiatira, e da Sardi, ed a Filadelfia, ed a Laodicea.
12 I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands	12 E mi rivolsi per vedere chi parlava meco: e rivolto che fui, vidi sette candellieri d'oro:
13 and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt ofgold.	13 E in mezzo ai sette candellieri d'oro uno simile al Figliuolo dell'uomo, vestito di abito talare e cinto il petto con fascia d'oro:
14 His head and his hair were white with the whiteness of wool, like snow, his eyes like a burning flame,	14 E il capo di lui, ed i capelli eran candidi come la lana bianca, e come la neve, e i suoi occhi come fuoco fiammante,
15 his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of theocean.	15 E i piedi di lui simili all'oricalco, qual egli è nella ardente fornace, e la voce di lui come voce di molte acque:
16 In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, andhis face was like the sun shining with all its force.	16 Ed aveva nella destra sette stelle: e dalla bocca di lui usciva una spada a due tagli: e la faccia di lui come il sole risplende nella sua forza.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, 'Do not beafraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One,	17 E veduto ch'io l'ebbi, caddi a' suoi piedi come morto. Ed ei pose la sua destra mano sopra di me, dicendo: non temere: io sono il primo, e l'ultimo.
18 I was dead and look -- I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.	18 E vivo, ma fui morto; ed ecco, che sono vivente pei secoli de' secoli, ed ho le chiavi della morte, e dell'inferno.
19 Now write down al that you see of present happenings and what is stil to come.	19 Scrivi adunque le cose, che hai vedute, e quelle, che sono, e quelle, che debbono accadere dopo di queste.
20 The secret of the seven stars you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp-stands, isthis: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churchesthemselves.'	20 Il mistero delle sette stelle, le quali hai vedute nella mia destra, e i sette candellieri d'oro: le sette stelle sono i sette Angeli delle Chiese: ed i sette candellieri sono le sette Chiese.
