Revelation 1

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him so that he could tel his servants what is now to takeplace very soon; he sent his angel to make it known to his servant John,	1 Révélation de Jésus Christ: Dieu la lui donna pour montrer à ses serviteurs ce qui doit arriverbientôt; Il envoya son Ange pour la faire connaître à Jean son serviteur,
2 and John has borne witness to the Word of God and to the witness of Jesus Christ, everything that hesaw.	2 lequel a attesté la Parole de Dieu et le témoignage de Jésus Christ: toutes ses visions.
3 Blessed is anyone who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed those who hear them, if theytreasure the content, because the Time is near.	3 Heureux le lecteur et les auditeurs de ces paroles prophétiques s'ils en retiennent le contenu, carle Temps est proche!
4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is tocome, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,	4 Jean, aux sept Eglises d'Asie. Grâce et paix vous soient données par "Il est, Il était et Il vient",par les sept Esprits présents devant son trône,
5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. Heloves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,	5 et par Jésus Christ, le témoin fidèle, le Premier-né d'entre les morts, le Prince des rois de laterre. Il nous aime et nous a lavés de nos péchés par son sang,
6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.	6 il a fait de nous une Royauté de Prêtres, pour son Dieu et Père: à lui donc la gloire et lapuissance pour les siècles des siècles. Amen.
7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone wil see him, even those who pierced him, and all the racesof the earth wil mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.	7 Voici, il vient avec les nuées; chacun le verra, même ceux qui l'ont transpercé, et sur lui selamenteront toutes les races de la terre. Oui, Amen!
8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, theAlmighty.	8 Je suis l'Alpha et l'Oméga, dit le Seigneur Dieu, "Il est, Il était et Il vient", le Maître-de-tout.
9 I, John, your brother and partner in hardships, in the kingdom and in perseverance in Jesus, was on theisland of Patmos on account of the Word of God and of witness to Jesus;	9 Moi, Jean, votre frère et votre compagnon dans l'épreuve, la royauté et la constance, en Jésus. Jeme trouvais dans l'île de Patmos, à cause de la Parole de Dieu et du témoignage de Jésus.
10 it was the Lord's Day and I was in ecstasy, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like the sound of atrumpet, saying,	10 Je tombai en extase, le jour du Seigneur, et j'entendis derrière moi une voix clamer, commeune trompette:
11 'Write down in a book al that you see, and send it to the seven churches of Ephesus, Smyrna,Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.'	11 "Ce que tu vois, écris-le dans un livre pour l'envoyer aux sept Eglises: à Ephèse, Smyrne,Pergame, Thyatire, Sardes, Philadelphie et Laodicée."
12 I turned round to see who was speaking to me, and when I turned I saw seven golden lamp-stands	12 Je me retournai pour regarder la voix qui me parlait; et m'étant retourné, je vis sept candélabresd'or,
13 and, in the middle of them, one like a Son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a belt ofgold.	13 et, au milieu des candélabres, comme un Fils d'homme revêtu d'une longue robe serrée à lataille par une ceinture en or.
14 His head and his hair were white with the whiteness of wool, like snow, his eyes like a burning flame,	14 Sa tête, avec ses cheveux blancs, est comme de la laine blanche, comme de la neige, ses yeuxcomme une flamme ardente,
15 his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of theocean.	15 ses pieds pareils à de l'airain précieux que l'on aurait purifié au creuset, sa voix comme la voixdes grandes eaux.
16 In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, andhis face was like the sun shining with all its force.	16 Dans sa main droite il a sept étoiles, et de sa bouche sort une épée acérée, à double tranchant;et son visage, c'est comme le soleil qui brille dans tout son éclat.
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead, but he laid his right hand on me and said, 'Do not beafraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One,	17 A sa vue, je tombai à ses pieds, comme mort; mais il posa sur moi sa main droite en disant:"Ne crains pas, je suis le Premier et le Dernier,
18 I was dead and look -- I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.	18 le Vivant; je fus mort, et me voici vivant pour les siècles des siècles, détenant la clef de laMort et de l'Hadès.
19 Now write down al that you see of present happenings and what is stil to come.	19 Ecris donc ce que tu as vu: le présent et ce qui doit arriver plus tard.
20 The secret of the seven stars you have seen in my right hand, and of the seven golden lamp-stands, isthis: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lamp-stands are the seven churchesthemselves.'	20 Quant au mystère des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans ma main droite et des sept candélabresd'or, le voici: les sept étoiles sont les Anges des sept Eglises; et les sept candélabres sont les sept Eglises.
