NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times some wil desert the faith and pay attention todeceitful spirits and doctrines that come from devils,	1 Lo Spirito però dice espressamente che negli ultimi tempi certuni apostateranno dalla fede, dando credito a spiriti fraudolenti e ad insegnamenti di demòni,
2 seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are branded as though with a red-hot iron:	2 sedotti dall'ipocrisia di gente che sparge menzogna, che ha la propria coscienza come bollata da un ferro rovente,
3 they forbid marriage and prohibit foods which God created to be accepted with thanksgiving by all whobelieve and who know the truth.	3 proibisce di sposare e (ordina) di astenersi da certi cibi, che invece Dio creò perché fossero presi con animo grato dai fedeli e da quelli che hanno conosciuto la verità.
4 Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided it is received withthanksgiving:	4 Infatti, ogni cosa creata da Dio è buona, e niente è da spregiare, qualora venga preso con animo grato,
5 the word of God and prayer make it holy.	5 giacché viene santificato per mezzo della parola di Dio e della preghiera.
6 If you put al this to the brothers, you wil be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you havereal y digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always fol owed.	6 Proponendo queste cose ai fratelli, sarai davvero un buon ministro di Cristo Gesù, nutrito come sei delle parole della fede e della buona dottrina che hai diligentemente appreso.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Train yourself for religion.	7 Rigetta però le favole profane, cose da vecchierelle. Allénati piuttosto alla pietà,
8 Physical exercise is useful enough, but the usefulness of religion is unlimited, since it holds out promiseboth for life here and now and for the life to come;	8 poiché la ginnastica del corpo è utile a poco, mentre la pietà è utile a tutto, avendo la promessa della vita presente e di quella futura.
9 that is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt it.	9 Quanto ho detto è degno di fede e di ogni accoglienza.
10 I mean that the point of al our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and heis the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of al believers.	10 Per questo noi ci affatichiamo e combattiamo, perché abbiamo riposto la speranza nel Dio vivente, che è il Salvatore di tutti gli uomini, soprattutto dei fedeli.
11 This is what you are to instruct and teach.	11 Questo proclama ed insegna.
12 Let no one disregard you because you are young, but be an example to al the believers in the way youspeak and behave, and in your love, your faith and your purity.	12 Nessuno disprezzi la tua giovinezza! Al contrario, mostrati modello ai fedeli nella parola, nella condotta, nella carità, nella fede, nella castità.
13 Until I arrive, devote yourself to reading to the people, encouraging and teaching.	13 Fino alla mia venuta applicati alla lettura, all'esortazione e all'insegnamento.
14 You have in you a spiritual gift which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the body of elderslaid their hands on you; do not neglect it.	14 Non trascurare il carisma che è in te e che ti fu dato per mezzo della profezia insieme all'imposizione delle mani dei presbiteri.
15 Let this be your care and your occupation, and everyone wil be able to see your progress.	15 Abbi premura di queste cose, dedicati ad esse, affinché a tutti sia noto il tuo progresso.
16 Be conscientious about what you do and what you teach; persevere in this, and in this way you wilsave both yourself and those who listen to you.	16 Attendi a te stesso e all'insegnamento: persevera in queste cose poiché, così facendo, salverai te stesso e quelli che ti ascoltano.
