1 The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times some wil desert the faith and pay attention todeceitful spirits and doctrines that come from devils,	1 A Lélek azonban kifejezetten mondja, hogy az utolsó időkben egyesek elszakadnak a hittől, a megtévesztés szellemeire és az ördögök tanítására hallgatnak,
2 seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are branded as though with a red-hot iron:	2 azokra, akik képmutatóskodva, de lelkiismeretükben megbélyegezve hazugságokat hirdetnek.
3 they forbid marriage and prohibit foods which God created to be accepted with thanksgiving by all whobelieve and who know the truth.	3 Ők azt mondják, hogy tilos a házasság, hogy tartózkodni kell egyes ételektől, holott azokat azért teremtette Isten, hogy hálát adva élvezzék őket a hívek, azok, akik megismerték az igazságot.
4 Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided it is received withthanksgiving:	4 Mert Isten minden teremtménye jó, és semmi sem elvetendő, amit hálaadással vesz magához az ember,
5 the word of God and prayer make it holy.	5 mert szentté lesz Isten igéje és az imádság által.
6 If you put al this to the brothers, you wil be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you havereal y digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always fol owed.	6 Ha ezt tárod a testvérek elé, Krisztus Jézus jó szolgája leszel. A hitnek és annak az igaz tanításnak igéivel táplálkozol, amelynek követője lettél.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Train yourself for religion.	7 Hagyd a képtelen és vénasszonyos meséket, a jámborságban gyakorold magadat.
8 Physical exercise is useful enough, but the usefulness of religion is unlimited, since it holds out promiseboth for life here and now and for the life to come;	8 Mert a test gyakorlatoztatása kevés dologra jó: a jámborság azonban mindenre hasznos, mert hordozza a jelen és a jövendő élet ígéretét.
9 that is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt it.	9 Igaz beszéd ez, és minden hitelre méltó!
10 I mean that the point of al our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and heis the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of al believers.	10 Hiszen azért fáradozunk és küzdünk, mert remélünk az élő Istenben, aki Üdvözítője minden embernek, különösen a híveknek.
11 This is what you are to instruct and teach.	11 Ezt parancsold, ezt tanítsd!
12 Let no one disregard you because you are young, but be an example to al the believers in the way youspeak and behave, and in your love, your faith and your purity.	12 Senki meg ne vessen téged ifjú korod miatt, de légy is példaképe a híveknek beszédben, viselkedésben, szeretetben, hitben, tisztaságban.
13 Until I arrive, devote yourself to reading to the people, encouraging and teaching.	13 Amíg odamegyek, fordíts gondot az Írás felolvasására, az intésre és a tanításra.
14 You have in you a spiritual gift which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the body of elderslaid their hands on you; do not neglect it.	14 Ne hanyagold el a benned levő kegyelmi ajándékot, amelyet a jövendölés alapján a presbiterek kézföltétele által kaptál.
15 Let this be your care and your occupation, and everyone wil be able to see your progress.	15 Ezekre a dolgokra legyen gondod, ezeknek szenteld magad, hogy haladásod nyilvánvaló legyen mindenki előtt.
16 Be conscientious about what you do and what you teach; persevere in this, and in this way you wilsave both yourself and those who listen to you.	16 Vigyázz magadra és a tanításra! Légy állhatatos ezekben, mert ha ezt teszed, üdvözíted magadat is, meg azokat is, akik hallgatnak téged.
