2 Thessalonians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
	1 Paulus, et Sylvanus, et Timotheus, ecclesiæ Thessalonicensium in Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo.
2 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Gratia vobis, et pax a Deo Patre nostro, et Domino Jesu Christo.
3 We must always thank God for you, brothers; quite rightly, because your faith is growing so wonderfullyand the mutual love that each one of you has for al never stops increasing.	3 Gratias agere debemus semper Deo pro vobis, fratres, ita ut dignum est, quoniam supercrescit fides vestra, et abundat caritas uniuscujusque vestrum in invicem :
4 Among the churches of God we take special pride in you for your perseverance and faith under al thepersecutions and hardships you have to bear.	4 ita ut et nos ipsi in vobis gloriemur in ecclesiis Dei, pro patientia vestra, et fide, et in omnibus persecutionibus vestris, et tribulationibus, quas sustinetis
5 It al shows that God's judgement is just, so that you may be found worthy of the kingdom of God; it isfor the sake of this that you are suffering now.	5 in exemplum justi judicii Dei, ut digni habeamini in regno Dei, pro quo et patimini.
6 For God's justice wil surely mean hardship being inflicted on those who are now inflicting hardship onyou,	6 Si tamen justum est apud Deum retribuere tribulationem iis qui vos tribulant :
7 and for you who are now suffering hardship, relief with us, when the Lord Jesus appears from heavenwith the angels of his power.	7 et vobis, qui tribulamini, requiem nobiscum in revelatione Domini Jesu de cælo cum angelis virtutis ejus,
8 He wil come amid flaming fire; he wil impose a penalty on those who do not acknowledge God andrefuse to accept the gospel of our Lord Jesus.	8 in flamma ignis dantis vindictam iis qui non noverunt Deum, et qui non obediunt Evangelio Domini nostri Jesu Christi,
9 Their punishment is to be lost eternal y, excluded from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength	9 qui pœnas dabunt in interitu æternas a facie Domini, et a gloria virtutis ejus :
10 on that day when he comes to be glorified among his holy ones and marvelled at by al who believe inhim; and you are among those who believed our witness.	10 cum venerit glorificari in sanctis suis, et admirabilis fieri in omnibus, qui crediderunt, quia creditum est testimonium nostrum super vos in die illo.
11 In view of this we also pray continual y that our God wil make you worthy of his cal , and by his powerfulfil all your desires for goodness, and complete al that you have been doing through faith;	11 In quo etiam oramus semper pro vobis : ut dignetur vos vocatione sua Deus noster, et impleat omnem voluntatem bonitatis, et opus fidei in virtute,
12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you and you in him, by the grace of ourGod and the Lord Jesus Christ.	12 ut clarificetur nomen Domini nostri Jesu Christi in vobis, et vos in illo secundum gratiam Dei nostri, et Domini Jesu Christi.
