John 19

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Pilate then had Jesus taken away and scourged;	1 فحينئذ اخذ بيلاطس يسوع وجلده.
2 and after this, the soldiers twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on his head and dressed him ina purple robe.	2 وضفر العسكر اكليلا من شوك ووضعوه على راسه وألبسوه ثوب ارجوان.
3 They kept coming up to him and saying, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' and slapping him in the face.	3 وكانوا يقولون السلام يا ملك اليهود وكانوا يلطمونه.
4 Pilate came outside again and said to them, 'Look, I am going to bring him out to you to let you seethat I find no case against him.'	4 فخرج بيلاطس ايضا خارجا وقال لهم ها انا اخرجه اليكم لتعلموا اني لست اجد فيه علة واحدة.
5 Jesus then came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said, 'Here is the man.'	5 فخرج يسوع خارجا وهو حامل اكليل الشوك وثوب الارجوان. فقال لهم بيلاطس هوذا الانسان.
6 When they saw him, the chief priests and the guards shouted, 'Crucify him! Crucify him!' Pilate said,'Take him yourselves and crucify him: I find no case against him.'	6 فلما رآه رؤساء الكهنة والخدام صرخوا قائلين اصلبه اصلبه. قال لهم بيلاطس خذوه انتم واصلبوه لاني لست اجد فيه علّة.
7 The Jews replied, 'We have a Law, and according to that Law he ought to be put to death, because hehas claimed to be Son of God.'	7 اجابه اليهود لنا ناموس وحسب ناموسنا يجب ان يموت لانه جعل نفسه ابن الله.
8 When Pilate heard them say this his fears increased.	8 فلما سمع بيلاطس هذا القول ازداد خوفا.
9 Re-entering the Praetorium, he said to Jesus, 'Where do you come from?' But Jesus made no answer.	9 فدخل ايضا الى دار الولاية وقال ليسوع من اين انت. واما يسوع فلم يعطه جوابا.
10 Pilate then said to him, 'Are you refusing to speak to me? Surely you know I have power to releaseyou and I have power to crucify you?'	10 فقال له بيلاطس أما تكلمني. ألست تعلم ان لي سلطانا ان اصلبك وسلطانا ان اطلقك.
11 Jesus replied, 'You would have no power over me at al if it had not been given you from above; thatis why the man who handed me over to you has the greater guilt.'	11 اجاب يسوع لم يكن لك عليّ سلطان البتة لو لم تكن قد أعطيت من فوق. لذلك الذي اسلمني اليك له خطية اعظم.
12 From that moment Pilate was anxious to set him free, but the Jews shouted, 'If you set him free youare no friend of Caesar's; anyone who makes himself king is defying Caesar.'	12 من هذا الوقت كان بيلاطس يطلب ان يطلقه ولكن اليهود كانوا يصرخون قائلين ان اطلقت هذا فلست محبا لقيصر. كل من يجعل نفسه ملكا يقاوم قيصر
13 Hearing these words, Pilate had Jesus brought out, and seated him on the chair of judgement at aplace cal ed the Pavement, in Hebrew Gabbatha.	13 فلما سمع بيلاطس هذا القول اخرج يسوع وجلس على كرسي الولاية في موضع يقال له البلاط وبالعبرانية جبّاثا.
14 It was the Day of Preparation, about the sixth hour. 'Here is your king,' said Pilate to the Jews.	14 وكان استعداد الفصح ونحو الساعة السادسة. فقال لليهود هوذا ملككم.
15 But they shouted, 'Away with him, away with him, crucify him.' Pilate said, 'Shall I crucify your king?'The chief priests answered, 'We have no king except Caesar.'	15 فصرخوا خذه خذه اصلبه. قال لهم بيلاطس أاصلب ملككم. اجاب رؤساء الكهنة ليس لنا ملك الا قيصر.
16 So at that Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. They then took charge of Jesus,	16 فحينئذ اسلمه اليهم ليصلب فأخذوا يسوع ومضوا به.
17 and carrying his own cross he went out to the Place of the Skul or, as it is cal ed in Hebrew,Golgotha,	17 فخرج وهو حامل صليبه الى الموضع الذي يقال له موضع الجمجمة ويقال له بالعبرانية جلجثة
18 where they crucified him with two others, one on either side, Jesus being in the middle.	18 حيث صلبوه وصلبوا اثنين آخرين معه من هنا ومن هنا ويسوع في الوسط
19 Pilate wrote out a notice and had it fixed to the cross; it ran: 'Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews'.	19 وكتب بيلاطس عنوانا ووضعه على الصليب. وكان مكتوبا يسوع الناصري ملك اليهود.
20 This notice was read by many of the Jews, because the place where Jesus was crucified was nearthe city, and the writing was in Hebrew, Latin and Greek.	20 فقرأ هذا العنوان كثيرون من اليهود لان المكان الذي صلب فيه يسوع كان قريبا من المدينة. وكان مكتوبا بالعبرانية واليونانية واللاتينية.
21 So the Jewish chief priests said to Pilate, 'You should not write "King of the Jews", but that the mansaid, "I am King of the Jews". '	21 فقال رؤساء كهنة اليهود لبيلاطس لا تكتب ملك اليهود بل ان ذاك قال انا ملك اليهود.
22 Pilate answered, 'What I have written, I have written.'	22 اجاب بيلاطس ما كتبت قد كتبت.
23 When the soldiers had finished crucifying Jesus they took his clothing and divided it into four shares,one for each soldier. His undergarment was seamless, woven in one piece from neck to hem;	23 ثم ان العسكر لما كانوا قد صلبوا يسوع اخذوا ثيابه وجعلوها اربعة اقسام لكل عسكري قسما. واخذوا القميص ايضا. وكان القميص بغير خياطة منسوجا كله من فوق.
24 so they said to one another, 'Instead of tearing it, let's throw dice to decide who is to have it.' In thisway the words of scripture were fulfilled: They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothes.That is what the soldiers did.	24 فقال بعضهم لبعض لا نشقه بل نقترع عليه لمن يكون. ليتّم الكتاب القائل اقتسموا ثيابي بينهم وعلى لباسي ألقوا قرعة. هذا فعله العسكر
25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Maryof Magdala.	25 وكانت واقفات عند صليب يسوع امه واخت امه مريم زوجة كلوبا ومريم المجدلية.
26 Seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother,'Woman, this is your son.'	26 فلما رأى يسوع امه والتلميذ الذي كان يحبه واقفا قال لامه يا امرأة هوذا ابنك.
27 Then to the disciple he said, 'This is your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into hishome.	27 ثم قال للتلميذ هوذا امك. ومن تلك الساعة اخذها التلميذ الى خاصته
28 After this, Jesus knew that everything had now been completed and, so that the scripture should becompletely fulfil ed, he said: I am thirsty.	28 بعد هذا رأى يسوع ان كل شيء قد كمل فلكي يتم الكتاب قال انا عطشان.
29 A jar full of sour wine stood there; so, putting a sponge soaked in the wine on a hyssop stick, theyheld it up to his mouth.	29 وكان إناء موضوعا مملوّا خلا. فملأوا اسفنجة من الخل ووضعوها على زوفا وقدموها الى فمه.
30 After Jesus had taken the wine he said, 'It is fulfil ed'; and bowing his head he gave up his spirit.	30 فلما اخذ يسوع الخل قال قد اكمل. ونكس راسه واسلم الروح
31 It was the Day of Preparation, and to avoid the bodies' remaining on the cross during the Sabbath --since that Sabbath was a day of special solemnity -- the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and thebodies taken away.	31 ثم اذ كان استعداد فلكي لا تبقى الاجساد على الصليب في السبت لان يوم ذلك السبت كان عظيما سأل اليهود بيلاطس ان تكسر سيقانهم ويرفعوا.
32 Consequently the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with himand then of the other.	32 فأتى العسكر وكسروا ساقي الاول والآخر المصلوب معه.
33 When they came to Jesus, they saw he was already dead, and so instead of breaking his legs	33 واما يسوع فلما جاءوا اليه لم يكسروا ساقيه لانهم رأوه قد مات.
34 one of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance; and immediately there came out blood and water.	34 لكن واحدا من العسكر طعن جنبه بحربة وللوقت خرج دم وماء.
35 This is the evidence of one who saw it -- true evidence, and he knows that what he says is true -- andhe gives it so that you may believe as wel .	35 والذي عاين شهد وشهادته حق وهو يعلم انه يقول الحق لتؤمنوا انتم.
36 Because al this happened to fulfil the words of scripture: Not one bone of his wil be broken;	36 لان هذا كان ليتم الكتاب القائل عظم لا يكسر منه.
37 and again, in another place scripture says: They wil look to the one whom they have pierced.	37 وايضا يقول كتاب آخر سينظرون الى الذي طعنوه
38 After this, Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a disciple of Jesus -- though a secret one because he wasafraid of the Jews -- asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave permission, so they came andtook it away.	38 ثم ان يوسف الذي من الرامة وهو تلميذ يسوع ولكن خفية لسبب الخوف من اليهود سأل بيلاطس ان يأخذ جسد يسوع. فأذن بيلاطس فجاء واخذ جسد يسوع.
39 Nicodemus came as wel -- the same one who had first come to Jesus at night-time -- and he broughta mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing about a hundred pounds.	39 وجاء ايضا نيقوديموس الذي أتى اولا الى يسوع ليلا وهو حامل مزيج مرّ وعود نحو مئة منا.
40 They took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, fol owing the Jewish burialcustom.	40 فأخذا جسد يسوع ولفاه باكفان مع الاطياب كما لليهود عادة ان يكفنوا.
41 At the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in this garden a new tomb in whichno one had yet been buried.	41 وكان في الموضع الذي صلب فيه بستان وفي البستان قبر جديد لم يوضع فيه احد قط.
42 Since it was the Jewish Day of Preparation and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.	42 فهناك وضعا يسوع لسبب استعداد اليهود لان القبر كان قريبا
