John 19

1 Pilate then had Jesus taken away and scourged;	1 Akkor Pilátus elvezettette Jézust és megostoroztatta.
2 and after this, the soldiers twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on his head and dressed him ina purple robe.	2 A katonák pedig koronát fontak tövisből, a fejére tették, és bíborszínű köpenyt adtak rá.
3 They kept coming up to him and saying, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' and slapping him in the face.	3 Aztán eléje járultak, és azt mondogatták: »Üdvözlégy, zsidók királya!« És arcul verték őt.
4 Pilate came outside again and said to them, 'Look, I am going to bring him out to you to let you seethat I find no case against him.'	4 Pilátus újra kiment, és azt mondta nekik: »Íme, kihozom őt nektek, hogy megtudjátok, hogy semmi vétket sem találok benne.«
5 Jesus then came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said, 'Here is the man.'	5 Akkor kijött Jézus, töviskoronával, bíborköpenyben. Ő pedig azt mondta nekik: »Íme, az ember!«
6 When they saw him, the chief priests and the guards shouted, 'Crucify him! Crucify him!' Pilate said,'Take him yourselves and crucify him: I find no case against him.'	6 Amikor a főpapok és poroszlók meglátták, kiáltozni kezdtek: »Feszítsd meg, feszítsd meg!« Pilátus így szólt: »Vegyétek át ti őt, és feszítsétek keresztre, mert én nem találok vétket benne.«
7 The Jews replied, 'We have a Law, and according to that Law he ought to be put to death, because hehas claimed to be Son of God.'	7 De a zsidók így szóltak: »Nekünk törvényünk van, és a törvény szerint meg kell halnia, mert Isten Fiává tette magát!«
8 When Pilate heard them say this his fears increased.	8 Amikor Pilátus meghallotta ezeket a szavakat, még jobban megijedt.
9 Re-entering the Praetorium, he said to Jesus, 'Where do you come from?' But Jesus made no answer.	9 Újra bement a helytartóságra, és megkérdezte Jézustól: »Honnan való vagy te?« Jézus azonban nem adott neki feleletet.
10 Pilate then said to him, 'Are you refusing to speak to me? Surely you know I have power to releaseyou and I have power to crucify you?'	10 Ezért Pilátus azt mondta neki: »Nekem nem válaszolsz? Nem tudod, hogy hatalmam van arra, hogy szabadon bocsássalak, és arra, hogy megfeszítselek?«
11 Jesus replied, 'You would have no power over me at al if it had not been given you from above; thatis why the man who handed me over to you has the greater guilt.'	11 Jézus azt felelte: »Semmi hatalmad sem volna felettem, ha onnan felülről nem adatott volna neked. 12 From that moment Pilate was anxious to set him free, but the Jews shouted, 'If you set him free youare no friend of Caesar's; anyone who makes himself king is defying Caesar.'	12 Ettől fogva Pilátus azon volt, hogy elbocsássa őt. De a zsidók így kiáltoztak: »Ha ezt elbocsátod, nem vagy a császár barátja! Mindaz, aki királlyá teszi magát, ellenszegül a császárnak.«
13 Hearing these words, Pilate had Jesus brought out, and seated him on the chair of judgement at aplace cal ed the Pavement, in Hebrew Gabbatha.	13 Amikor Pilátus meghallotta ezeket a szavakat, kihozatta Jézust, és a bírói székbe ült azon a helyen, amelyet kövezett udvarnak neveznek, héberül meg Gabbatának.
14 It was the Day of Preparation, about the sixth hour. 'Here is your king,' said Pilate to the Jews.	14 A húsvét készületnapja volt akkor, körülbelül a hatodik óra. Így szólt a zsidókhoz: »Íme, a ti királyotok!«
15 But they shouted, 'Away with him, away with him, crucify him.' 23 When the soldiers had finished crucifying Jesus they took his clothing and divided it into four shares,one for each soldier. His undergarment was seamless, woven in one piece from neck to hem;	23 A katonák pedig, miután megfeszítették Jézust, fogták a ruháit, elosztották négy felé, minden katonának egy részt, azután fogták a köntöst is. 24 so they said to one another, 'Instead of tearing it, let's throw dice to decide who is to have it.' In thisway the words of scripture were fulfilled: They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothes.That is what the soldiers did.	24 Ezért azt mondták egymásnak: »Ezt ne vágjuk szét, inkább vessünk rá sorsot, kié legyen!« Ez azért történt, hogy beteljesedjék az Írás, amely így szól: »Elosztották maguk között ruháimat, és köntösömre sorsot vetettek« . 25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Maryof Magdala.	25 Jézus keresztje mellett ott állt anyja, anyjának nővére, Mária, Kleofás felesége és Mária Magdolna.
26 Seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother,'Woman, this is your son.'	26 Amikor Jézus meglátta anyját és az ott álló tanítványt, akit szeretett, így szólt anyjához: »Asszony, íme, a te fiad!«
27 Then to the disciple he said, 'This is your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into hishome.	27 Azután azt mondta a tanítványnak: »Íme, a te anyád!« És attól az órától magához vette őt a tanítvány.
28 After this, Jesus knew that everything had now been completed and, so that the scripture should becompletely fulfil ed, he said: I am thirsty.	28 Ezután Jézus, aki tudta, hogy már minden bevégeztetett, hogy beteljesedjék az Írás, így szólt: »Szomjazom!«

30 After Jesus had taken the wine he said, 'It is fulfil ed'; and bowing his head he gave up his spirit.	30 Amikor Jézus az ecetet megízlelte, azt mondta: »Beteljesedett!« És fejét lehajtva kilehelte lelkét.
31 It was the Day of Preparation, and to avoid the bodies' remaining on the cross during the Sabbath --since that Sabbath was a day of special solemnity -- the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and thebodies taken away.	31 A zsidók pedig, mivel készületnap volt, kérték Pilátust, hogy törjék meg lábszárcsontjaikat, és vegyék le őket, hogy a testek ne maradjanak ott a kereszten szombatra, mert az a szombat nagy nap volt.

36 Because al this happened to fulfil the words of scripture: Not one bone of his wil be broken;	36 Mert ezek azért történtek, hogy beteljesedjék az Írás: »Csontját ne törjék össze« .
37 and again, in another place scripture says: They wil look to the one whom they have pierced.	37 Egy másik Írás pedig azt mondja: »Látni fogják azt, akit keresztülszúrtak« .
38 After this, Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a disciple of Jesus -- though a secret one because he wasafraid of the Jews -- asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave permission, so they came andtook it away.	38 Ezek után pedig az arimateai József, aki Jézus tanítványa volt, de a zsidóktól való félelmében csak titokban, megkérte Pilátust, hogy levehesse Jézus testét. 39 Nicodemus came as wel -- the same one who had first come to Jesus at night-time -- and he broughta mixture of myrrh and aloes, weighing about a hundred pounds.	39 Eljött Nikodémus is, aki először éjszaka ment hozzá, s mirha- és áloé-keveréket hozott, körülbelül száz fontot.

41 At the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in this garden a new tomb in whichno one had yet been buried.	41 Azon a helyen, ahol felfeszítették őt, volt egy kert, és a kertben egy új sírbolt, amelyben még senki sem feküdt.
