Deuteronomy 34

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Then, leaving the Plains of Moab, Moses went up Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah opposite Jericho,and Yahweh showed him the whole country: Gilead as far as Dan,	1 Mosè salì dalle steppe di Moab sul monte Nebo, cima del Pisga, che è di fronte a Gerico, e il Signore gli fece vedere tutta la terra: Galaad fino a Dan,
2 the whole of Naphtali, the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, the whole country of Judah as far as theWestern Sea,	2 tutto Neftali, la terra di Efraim e di Manasse, tutta la terra di Giuda fino al Mare Mediterraneo,
3 the Negeb, and the region of the Val ey of Jericho, city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.	3 il Negheb, il distretto della valle di Gerico, città delle palme, fino a Zoar.
4 Yahweh said to him, 'This is the country which I promised on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac andJacob, saying: I shal give it to your descendants. I have al owed you to see it for yourself, but you wil not crossinto it.'	4 Il Signore gli disse: "Questa è la terra che ho promesso con giuramento ad Abramo, a Isacco e a Giacobbe dicendo: "Alla tua posterità la donerò". Te l'ho fatta vedere con i tuoi occhi, ma tu non vi entrerai".
5 There in the country of Moab, Moses, servant of Yahweh, died as Yahweh decreed;	5 Mosè, servo del Signore, morì ivi, nella terra di Moab, secondo la parola del Signore.
6 he buried him in the val ey, in the country of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; but to this day no one hasever found his grave.	6 Fu sepolto nella valle, nella terra di Moab, di fronte a Bet-Peor. Nessuno ha conosciuto la sua tomba fino ad oggi.
7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye undimmed, his vigour unimpaired.	7 Mosè aveva centovent'anni quando morì: il suo occhio non si era indebolito e il suo vigore non si era spento.
8 The Israelites wept for Moses on the Plains of Moab for thirty days. The days of weeping for themourning rites of Moses came to an end.	8 I figli d'Israele piansero Mosè nelle steppe di Moab per trenta giorni, finché furono compiuti i giorni di pianto per il lutto di Mosè.
9 Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him, and himthe Israelites obeyed, carrying out the order which Yahweh had given to Moses.	9 Giosuè, figlio di Nun, era pieno dello spirito di sapienza, perché Mosè gli aveva imposto le mani. I figli d'Israele lo ascoltarono e fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
10 Since then, there has never been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man whom Yahweh knewface to face.	10 Non sorse più profeta in Israele come Mosè, che il Signore conosceva faccia a faccia,
11 What signs and wonders Yahweh caused him to perform in Egypt against Pharaoh, al his servantsand his whole country!	11 per tutti i segni e i prodigi che il Signore lo mandò a compiere nella terra d'Egitto per il faraone, per tutti i suoi servi e per tutta la sua terra;
12 How mighty the hand and great the fear that Moses wielded in the eyes of al Israel!	12 per tutta la potenza della sua mano e per tutte le opere terribili e grandi che compì Mosè agli occhi di tutto Israele.
