Deuteronomy 34

1 Then, leaving the Plains of Moab, Moses went up Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah opposite Jericho,and Yahweh showed him the whole country: Gilead as far as Dan,	1 Salì adunque Mosè dalla pianura di Moab sul monte Nebo alla cima del Phasga dirimpetto a Gerico, e il Signore gli fece vedere tutta la terra di Galaad fino a Dan,
2 the whole of Naphtali, the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, the whole country of Judah as far as theWestern Sea,	2 E tutta Nephtali, e la terra di Ephraim, e di Manasse, e tutta la terra di Giuda fino al mare ultimo,
3 the Negeb, and the region of the Val ey of Jericho, city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.	3 E la parte del mezzodì, e la spaziosa campagna di Gerico città delle palme fino a Segor.
4 Yahweh said to him, 'This is the country which I promised on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac andJacob, saying: I shal give it to your descendants. I have al owed you to see it for yourself, but you wil not crossinto it.'	4 E disse a lui il Signore: Questa è la terra, per ragion della quale giurai ad Abramo, a Isacco, e a Giacobbe, e dissi: Darolla ai tuoi discendenti: Tu l’hai veduta cogli occhi tuoi, e non vi entrerai.
5 There in the country of Moab, Moses, servant of Yahweh, died as Yahweh decreed;	5 E ivi si morì Mosè servo di Dio nella terra di Moab, secondo il comando del Signore:
6 he buried him in the val ey, in the country of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; but to this day no one hasever found his grave.	6 E questi lo fé seppellire in una valle della terra di Moab dirimpetto a Phogor, ed è rimaso ignoto a tutti il suo sepolcro fino al dì d'oggi.
7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye undimmed, his vigour unimpaired.	7 Mosè avea cento venti anni quando morì: non se gl'indebolì la vista, né se gli smossero i denti.
8 The Israelites wept for Moses on the Plains of Moab for thirty days. The days of weeping for themourning rites of Moses came to an end.	8 E i figliuoli d'Israele menarono duolo per lui nella pianura di Moab per trenta giorni. E si compieron i giorni del lutto per quei che piangevan Mosè.
9 Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him, and himthe Israelites obeyed, carrying out the order which Yahweh had given to Moses.	9 E Giosuè figliuolo di Nun fu ripieno di spirito di sapienza, perché Mosè gli aveva imposte le sue mani. E a lui prestarono obbedienza i figliuoli d'Israele, e fecer quello che il Signore avea comandato a Mosè.
10 Since then, there has never been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man whom Yahweh knewface to face.	10 Né si levò mai più in Israele un profeta simile a Mosè, col quale trattasse il Signore faccia a faccia,
11 What signs and wonders Yahweh caused him to perform in Egypt against Pharaoh, al his servantsand his whole country!	11 Né simile a lui in quei prodigii, e miracoli, i quali per la missione datagli dal Signore fece egli nella terra d'Egitto contro di Faraone, e contro tutti i servi di questo, e contro tutto quel paese,
12 How mighty the hand and great the fear that Moses wielded in the eyes of al Israel!	12 Né simile nella possanza, e nelle opere miracolose, quali fece Mosè in faccia a tutto Israele.
