Deuteronomy 34

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Then, leaving the Plains of Moab, Moses went up Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah opposite Jericho,and Yahweh showed him the whole country: Gilead as far as Dan,	1 Ascendit ergo Moyses de campestribus Moab super montem Nabo in verticem Phasga contra Iericho; ostenditque ei Dominus omnem terram Galaad usque Dan
2 the whole of Naphtali, the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, the whole country of Judah as far as theWestern Sea,	2 et universum Nephthali terramque Ephraim et Manasse et omnem terram Iudae usque ad mare occidentale
3 the Negeb, and the region of the Val ey of Jericho, city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.	3 et Nageb et latitudinem campi Iericho civitatis palmarum usque Segor.
4 Yahweh said to him, 'This is the country which I promised on oath to give to Abraham, Isaac andJacob, saying: I shal give it to your descendants. I have al owed you to see it for yourself, but you wil not crossinto it.'	4 Dixitque Dominus ad eum: “ Haec est terra, pro qua iuravi Abraham, Isaac et Iacob, dicens: Semini tuo dabo eam. Vidisti eam oculis tuis et non transibis ad illam ”.
5 There in the country of Moab, Moses, servant of Yahweh, died as Yahweh decreed;	5 Mortuusque est ibi Moyses servus Domini in terra Moab, iubente Domino.
6 he buried him in the val ey, in the country of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; but to this day no one hasever found his grave.	6 Et sepelivit eum in valle in terra Moab contra Bethphegor; et non cognovit homo sepulcrum eius usque in praesentem diem.
7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, his eye undimmed, his vigour unimpaired.	7 Moyses centum et viginti annorum erat, quando mortuus est; non caligavit oculus eius, nec robur illius defecit.
8 The Israelites wept for Moses on the Plains of Moab for thirty days. The days of weeping for themourning rites of Moses came to an end.	8 Fleveruntque eum filii Israel in campestribus Moab triginta diebus; et completi sunt dies planctus lugentium Moysen.
9 Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him, and himthe Israelites obeyed, carrying out the order which Yahweh had given to Moses.	9 Iosue vero filius Nun repletus est spiritu sapientiae, quia Moyses posuit super eum manus suas; et oboedierunt ei filii Israel feceruntque, sicut praecepit Dominus Moysi.
10 Since then, there has never been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man whom Yahweh knewface to face.	10 Et non surrexit ultra propheta in Israel sicut Moyses, quem nosset Dominus facie ad faciem,
11 What signs and wonders Yahweh caused him to perform in Egypt against Pharaoh, al his servantsand his whole country!	11 in omnibus signis atque portentis, quae misit per eum, ut faceret in terra Aegypti pharaoni et omnibus servis eius universaeque terrae illius,
12 How mighty the hand and great the fear that Moses wielded in the eyes of al Israel!	12 et in cuncta manu robusta magnisque mirabilibus, quae fecit Moyses coram universo Israel.
