Deuteronomy 27

NEW JERUSALEM	Sacra Bibbia Garofalo
1 Moses and the elders of Israel gave the people this command: 'Keep al the commandments which Iam laying down for you today.	1 Mosè e gli anziani di Israele ordinarono al popolo: «Osservate l’intero ordinamento che oggi io vi ordino.
2 After you have crossed the Jordan into the country which Yahweh your God is giving you, you mustset up tal stones, coat them with lime	2 Quando attraverserete il Giordano verso la terra che Jahvè tuo Dio sta per concederti, drizzerai per te grandi pietre, le spalmerai di calce
3 and on them write all the words of this Law, when you have crossed and entered the country whichYahweh your God is giving you, a country flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, God of your ancestors, haspromised you.	3 e scriverai su di esse le parole di questa legge quando avrai attraversato per entrare nella terra che Jahvè tuo Dio sta per concederti, terra dove scorre latte e miele, come Jahvè, Dio dei tuoi padri, ha promesso a te.
4 'When you have crossed the Jordan, you must erect these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command youtoday, and coat them with lime.	4 Quando avrete attraversato il Giordano, drizzerete sul monte Ebal queste pietre, come oggi vi ordino e le spalmerai di calce.
5 There, for Yahweh your God, you must build an altar of stones, on which no iron has been used.	5 Qui edificherai un altare a Jahvè tuo Dio; un altare di pietre non toccate da alcuno strumento di ferro:
6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of rough stones, and on this altar you will present burntofferings to Yahweh your God,	6 con pietre intatte edificherai un altare a Jahvè tuo Dio. Su di esso farai salire olocausti per Jahvè tuo Dio,
7 and immolate communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh yourGod.	7 immolerai sacrifici pacifici, ne mangerai e gioirai al cospetto di Jahvè tuo Dio.
8 On these stones you must write al the words of this Law; cut them careful y.'	8 Sulle pietre scriverai tutte le parole di questa legge: scolpiscile bene».
9 Moses and the levitical priests then said to al Israel: 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. Today you havebecome a people for Yahweh your God.	9 Mosè e i sacerdoti leviti parlarono a tutto Israele: «Taci e ascolta, Israele. Oggi sei diventato un popolo per Jahvè tuo Dio.
10 You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which Iam laying down for you today.'	10 Ascolterai, quindi, la voce di Jahvè tuo Dio e metterai in pratica i suoi precetti e i suoi statuti che oggi ti ordino».
11 That day Moses gave the people this order:	11 Mosè, in quel giorno, ordinò al popolo:
12 'When you have crossed the Jordan, the fol owing wil stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people:Simeon and Levi, Judah and Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.	12 «Quando avrete attraversato - il Giordano, questi, Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issachar, Giuseppe e Beniamin, staranno sul monte Garizim per benedire,
13 And the fol owing wil stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad and Asher, Zebulun, Dan andNaphtali.	13 e quelli, Ruben, Gad, Asher, Zabulon, Dan e Neftali, staranno sul monte Ebal per la maledizione.
14 The Levites wil then speak, proclaiming loudly to al the Israelites:	14 I Leviti intoneranno e diranno a voce alta a tutti gli Israeliti:
15 "Accursed be anyone who makes a carved or cast idol, a thing detestable to Yahweh, a workman'sartefact, and sets it up in secret." And the people are al to respond by saying, Amen.	15 “Maledetto colui che fa un idolo scolpito e fuso, abominio per Jahvè, opera delle mani di un artigiano, e lo pone in un luogo segreto”. E tutto il popolo risponderà: “Così sia”.
16 "Accursed be anyone who treats father or mother dishonourably." And the people must al say,Amen.	16 “Maledetto colui che maltratta il padre e la madre”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
17 "Accursed be anyone who displaces a neighbour's boundary mark." And the people must al say,Amen.	17 “Maledetto colui che sposta i confini del suo prossimo”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
18 "Accursed be anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And the people must al say, Amen.	18 “Maledetto colui che fa smarrire un cieco sul cammino”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
19 "Accursed be anyone who violates the rights of the foreigner, the orphan and the widow." And thepeople must al say, Amen.	19 “Maledetto colui che viola il diritto del forestiero, dell’orfano e della vedova”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
20 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his father's wife and withdraws the skirt of hisfather's cloak from her." And the people must all say, Amen.	20 “Maledetto colui che giace con la moglie del padre, poiché scopre il lembo del mantello del padre”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
21 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with any kind of animal." And the people must allsay, Amen.	21 “Maledetto colui che giace con una qualsiasi bestia”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
22 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, the daughter of his father or of hismother." And the people must al say, Amen.	22 “Maledetto colui che giace con la sorella, figlia di suo padre o figlia di sua madre”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
23 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law." And the people must alsay, Amen.	23 “Maledetto colui che giace con la suocera”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
24 "Accursed be anyone who secretly strikes down his neighbour." And the people must al say, Amen.	24 “Maledetto colui che in segreto colpisce il suo prossimo”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
25 "Accursed be anyone who accepts a bribe to take an innocent life." And the people must al say,Amen.	25 “Maledetto colui che accetta un regalo per colpire a morte una persona innocente”. È tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
26 "Accursed be anyone who does not make the words of this Law effective by putting them intopractice." And the people must al say, Amen.'	26 “Maledetto colui che non mantiene tutte le parole di questa legge e non le mette in pratica”. E tutto il popolo dirà: “Così sia”.
