Deuteronomy 27

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Moses and the elders of Israel gave the people this command: 'Keep al the commandments which Iam laying down for you today.	1 Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron esta orden al pueblo: Observa integramente el mandamiento que hoy les prescribo.
2 After you have crossed the Jordan into the country which Yahweh your God is giving you, you mustset up tal stones, coat them with lime	2 El día en que crucen el Jordán para ir a la tierra que el Señor, tu Dios, te da, erigirás unas piedras, bien grandes, las blanquearás con cal,
3 and on them write all the words of this Law, when you have crossed and entered the country whichYahweh your God is giving you, a country flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, God of your ancestors, haspromised you.	3 y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta Ley. Harás esto cuando cruces el Jordán para entrar en el país que te da el Señor, tu Dios –esa tierra que mana leche y miel– como el Señor, el Dios de tus padres te lo ha prometido.
4 'When you have crossed the Jordan, you must erect these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command youtoday, and coat them with lime.	4 Después de cruzar el Jordán, pondrán esas piedras en el monte Ebal, según instrucciones que hoy les doy, y las blanquearán con cal.
5 There, for Yahweh your God, you must build an altar of stones, on which no iron has been used.	5 Allí erguirás también un altar de piedra en honor del Señor, tu Dios. No usarás ningún instrumento de hierro para trabajar las piedras,
6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of rough stones, and on this altar you will present burntofferings to Yahweh your God,	6 porque el altar del Señor deberá estar construido con piedras intactas. Ofrecerás en él holocaustos al Señor, tu Dios,
7 and immolate communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh yourGod.	7 e inmolarás sacrificios de comunión. Allí comerás y te alegrarás en la presencia del Señor, tu Dios,
8 On these stones you must write al the words of this Law; cut them careful y.'	8 y escribirás en las piedras, con rasgos bien claros, todas las palabras de esta Ley.
9 Moses and the levitical priests then said to al Israel: 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. Today you havebecome a people for Yahweh your God.	9 Después, Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas se dirigieron a todo Israel en estos términos: «Calla, Israel, y escucha. Hoy te has convertido en el pueblo del Señor, tu Dios.
10 You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which Iam laying down for you today.'	10 Escucha la voz del Señor, tu Dios, y practica los mandamientos y las leyes que hoy te prescribo».
11 That day Moses gave the people this order:	11 Aquel día, Moisés dio esta orden al pueblo:
12 'When you have crossed the Jordan, the fol owing wil stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people:Simeon and Levi, Judah and Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.	12 Después de cruzar el Jordán, las tribus de Simeón, Leví y Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín, estarán en el monte Garizim, para proclamar la bendición al pueblo;
13 And the fol owing wil stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad and Asher, Zebulun, Dan andNaphtali.	13 y las tribus de Rubén, Gad y Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí estarán en el monte Ebal, para proclamar la maldición.
14 The Levites wil then speak, proclaiming loudly to al the Israelites:	14 Los levitas tomarán la palabra y dirán en alta voz a todos los hombres de Israel:
15 "Accursed be anyone who makes a carved or cast idol, a thing detestable to Yahweh, a workman'sartefact, and sets it up in secret." And the people are al to respond by saying, Amen.	15 Maldito sea el hombre que hace un ídolo tallado o de metal fundido –abominación para el Señor, obra de un artesano– y lo guarda en un lugar oculto. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
16 "Accursed be anyone who treats father or mother dishonourably." And the people must al say,Amen.	16 Maldito sea el que menosprecia a su padre o a su madre. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
17 "Accursed be anyone who displaces a neighbour's boundary mark." And the people must al say,Amen.	17 Maldito sea el que desplaza los límites de la propiedad de su vecino. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
18 "Accursed be anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And the people must al say, Amen.	18 Maldito sea el que aparta a un ciego del camino. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
19 "Accursed be anyone who violates the rights of the foreigner, the orphan and the widow." And thepeople must al say, Amen.	19 Maldito sea el que conculca el derecho del extranjero, del huérfano o de la viuda. Y todo el pueblo responderá. Amén.
20 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his father's wife and withdraws the skirt of hisfather's cloak from her." And the people must all say, Amen.	20 Maldito sea el que se acuesta con la mujer de su padre, porque de esa manera descubre el borde de la manta de su padre. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
21 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with any kind of animal." And the people must allsay, Amen.	21 Maldito sea el que se acuesta con un animal. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
22 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, the daughter of his father or of hismother." And the people must al say, Amen.	22 Maldito sea el que se acuesta con su hermana, la hija de su padre o de su madre. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén. Maldito sea el que se acuesta con su suegra. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
23 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law." And the people must alsay, Amen.	23 Maldito sea el que mata ocultamente a su prójimo. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
24 "Accursed be anyone who secretly strikes down his neighbour." And the people must al say, Amen.	24 Maldito sea el que mata ocultamente a su prójimo. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
25 "Accursed be anyone who accepts a bribe to take an innocent life." And the people must al say,Amen.	25 Maldito sea el que se deja sobornar para quitar la vida a un inocente: Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
26 "Accursed be anyone who does not make the words of this Law effective by putting them intopractice." And the people must al say, Amen.'	26 Maldito sea el que no respeta ni cumple las palabras de esta Ley. Y todo el pueblo responderá: Amén.
