Deuteronomy 15

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 'At the end of every seven years, you must grant remission.	1 No sétimo ano farás a remissão,
2 The nature of the remission is as fol ows: any creditor holding a personal pledge obtained from hisfel ow must release him from it; he must not exploit his fel ow or his brother once the latter has appealed toYahweh for remission.	2 a qual será celebrada desta maneira: Aquele a quem é devida alguma coisa por seu amigo, ou por seu próximo, ou por seu irmão, não a poderá exigir, porque é o ano da remissão do Senhor.
3 A foreigner you may exploit, but you must remit whatever claim you have on your brother.	3 Poderás exigi-la do peregrino e do estrangeiro, mas não terás direito de a exigir dos teus compatriotas nem de teu vizinho.
4 There must, then, be no poor among you. For Yahweh wil grant you his blessing in the country whichYahweh your God is giving you to possess as your heritage,	4 Não haverá entre vós nenhum pobre nem mendigo, para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe na terra, que te entregou como herança.
5 only if you pay careful attention to the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping and practising al thesecommandments which I am enjoining on you today.	5 Se ouvires a voz do Senhor teu Deus, se guardares tudo o ele te mandou, o que eu hoje te prescrevo, ele te abençoará, como prometeu.
6 If Yahweh your God blesses you as he has promised, you wil be creditors to many nations butdebtors to none; you wil rule over many nations, and be ruled by none.	6 Tu emprestarás a muitos povos, e de nenhum receberás empréstimos. Dominarás sobre muitas nações, nenhuma te dominará.
7 'Is there anyone poor among you, one of your brothers, in any town of yours in the country whichYahweh your God is giving you? Do not harden your heart or close your hand against that poor brother of yours,	7 Se um dos teus irmãos, que moram dentro das portas da tua cidade, na terra, que o Senhor teu Deus está para te dar, cair em pobreza, não endurecerás o teu coração, nem fecharás a tua mão,
8 but be open handed with him and lend him enough for his needs.	8 mas abri-la-ás ao pobre e lhe emprestarás o que vires que ele precisa.
9 Do not allow this mean thought in your heart, "The seventh year, the year of remission, is near," andscowl at your poor brother and give him nothing; he could appeal against you to Yahweh, and you would incurguilt!	9 Acautela-te, não te deixes cair num ímpio pensamento, não digas no teu coração: Está próximo o sétimo ano da remissão — e não afastes (com tal pensamento) os olhos do teu irmão pobre, não lhe querendo emprestar o que ele te pede, não suceda que ele clame contra ti ao Senhor, e isto se torne para ti num pecado.
10 When you give to him, you must give with an open heart; for this, Yahweh your God wil bless you inal your actions and in al your undertakings.	10 Conceder-lhe-ás (o empréstimo), não usarás de astúcia alguma em o socorrer nas suas necessidades, para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em todo o tempo e em todas as coisas em que puseres a mão.
11 Of course, there wil never cease to be poor people in the country, and that is why I am giving youthis command: Always be open handed with your brother, and with anyone in your country who is in need andpoor.	11 Não faltarão pobres na terra da tua habitação, por isso eu te ordeno que abras a mão para o teu irmão necessitado e pobre, que vive contigo na terra.
12 'If your fel ow Hebrew, man or woman, sells himself to you, he can serve you for six years. In theseventh year you must set him free,	12 Quando te for vendido um teu irmão hebreu, homem ou mulher, e te tiver servido seis anos, no sétimo ano deixa-lo-ás ir livre.
13 and in setting him free you must not let him go empty handed.	13 Não deixarás ir com as mãos vazias àquele a quem deres a liberdade,
14 By way of present, you will load his shoulders with things from your flock, from your threshing-floorand from your winepress; as Yahweh your God has blessed you, so you must give to him.	14 mas dar-lhe-ás provisão para o caminho, dos rebanhos, da eira e do lagar; dar-lhe-ás dos bens com que o Senhor teu Deus te tiver abençoado.
15 Remember that you were once a slave in Egypt and that Yahweh your God redeemed you; that iswhy I am giving you this order today.	15 Lembra-te que também tu foste escravo na terra do Egipto, e que o Senhor teu Deus te libertou; por isso eu te ordeno hoje isto.
16 'But if he says to you, "I do not want to leave you," because he loves you and your household and ishappy with you,	16 Porém se (o teu escravo) te disser: Eu não quero sair porque ele te ama a ti e à tua casa, porque se encontra bem em tua casa,
17 you must take an awl and drive it through his ear into the door and he will be your servant for ever.You must do the same to a female slave.	17 tomarás uma sovela, furar-lhe-ás a orelha à porta de tua casa, e ele te servirá para sempre; o mesmo farás à tua escrava.
18 'Do not think it hard on you to have to give him his freedom; he is worth twice what a paid servantwould cost you, and has served you for six years. And Yahweh your God wil bless you in everything you do.	18 Não apartes dele os teus olhos, quando o tiveres posto em liberdade, porque ele serviu-te seis anos com o salário de um mercenário, para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em todas as coisas que fizeres.
19 'You must consecrate every first-born male from your herd and flock to Yahweh your God. You mustnot put the first-born of your herd to work, or shear the first-born of your flock.	19 Consagrarás ao Senhor teu Deus todos os machos primogênitos do teu gado graúdo e miúdo. Não trabalharás com o primogênito da vaca, nem tosquiarás animais, o primogênito das ovelhas,
20 You must eat it, you and your household, each year, in the presence of Yahweh your God, in theplace which Yahweh chooses.	20 mas comê-los-ás cada ano tu e a tua família na presença do Senhor teu Deus, no lugar que o Senhor escolher.
21 If it has any defect, if it is lame or blind -- any serious defect -- you must not sacrifice it to Yahwehyour God.	21 Se tiver algum defeito, se for coxo, cego, ou disforme em alguma parte (do corpo), ou mutilado, não será imolado ao Senhor teu Deus.
22 You wil eat it at home, unclean and clean together, as you would gazel e or deer;	22 Comê-lo-ás dentro das tuas portas; comerão igualmente dele o homem puro e o impuro, como (se come) da gazela ou do veado.
23 only, you will not eat its blood, but pour that like water on the ground.'	23 Terás somente o cuidado de não lhe comer o sangue, mas derramá-lo-ás por terra como água.
