Mark 12

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 He went on to speak to them in parables, 'A man planted a vineyard; he fenced it round, dug out atrough for the winepress and built a tower; then he leased it to tenants and went abroad.	1 Jesús se puso a hablarles en parábolas: «Un hombre plantó una viña, la cercó, cavó un lugar y construyó una torre de vigilancia. Después la arrendó a unos viñadores y se fue al extranjero.
2 When the time came, he sent a servant to the tenants to col ect from them his share of the produce ofthe vineyard.	2 A su debido tiempo, envió a un servidor para percibir de los viñadores la parte de los frutos que le correspondía.
3 But they seized the man, thrashed him and sent him away empty handed.	3 Pero ellos lo tomaron, lo golpearon y lo echaron con las manos vacías.
4 Next he sent another servant to them; him they beat about the head and treated shameful y.	4 De nuevo les envió a otro servidor, y a este también lo maltrataron y lo llenaron de ultrajes.
5 And he sent another and him they kil ed; then a number of others, and they thrashed some and killedthe rest.	5 Envió a un tercero, y a este lo mataron. Y también golpearon o mataron a muchos otros.
6 He had still someone left: his beloved son. He sent him to them last of al , thinking, "They wil respectmy son."	6 Todavía le quedaba alguien, su hijo, a quien quería mucho, y lo mandó en último término, pensando: "Respetarán a mi hijo".
7 But those tenants said to each other, "This is the heir. Come on, let us kil him, and the inheritance wilbe ours."	7 Pero los viñadores se dijeron: "Este es el heredero: vamos a matarlo y la herencia será nuestra".
8 So they seized him and killed him and threw him out of the vineyard.	8 Y apoderándose de él, lo mataron y lo arrojaron fuera de la viña.
9 Now what wil the owner of the vineyard do? He wil come and make an end of the tenants and givethe vineyard to others.	9 ¿Qué hará el dueño de la viña? Vendrá, acabará con los viñadores y entregará la viña a otros.
10 Have you not read this text of scripture: The stone which the builders rejected has become thecornerstone;	10 ¿No han leído este pasaje de la Escritura: "La piedra que los constructores rechazaron ha llegado a ser la piedra angular:
11 this is the Lord's doing, and we marvel at it ?'	11 esta es la obra del Señor, admirable a nuestros ojos"?».
12 And they would have liked to arrest him, because they realised that the parable was aimed at them,but they were afraid of the crowds. So they left him alone and went away.	12 Entonces buscaban la manera de detener a Jesús, porque comprendían que esta parábola la había dicho por ellos, pero tenían miedo de la multitud. Y dejándolo, se fueron.
13 Next they sent to him some Pharisees and some Herodians to catch him out in what he said.	13 Le enviaron después a unos fariseos y herodianos para sorprenderlo en alguna de sus afirmaciones.
14 These came and said to him, 'Master, we know that you are an honest man, that you are not afraid ofanyone, because human rank means nothing to you, and that you teach the way of God in al honesty. Is itpermissible to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay or not?'	14 Ellos fueron y le dijeron: «Maestro, sabemos que eres sincero y no tienes en cuenta la condición de las personas, porque no te fijas en la categoría de nadie, sino que enseñas con toda fidelidad el camino de Dios. ¿Está permitido pagar el impuesto al César o no? ¿Debemos pagarla o no?».
15 Recognising their hypocrisy he said to them, 'Why are you putting me to the test? Hand me adenarius and let me see it.'	15 Pero él, conociendo su hipocresía, les dijo: «¿Por qué me tienden una trampa? Muéstrenme un denario».
16 They handed him one and he said to them, 'Whose portrait is this? Whose title?' They said to him,'Caesar's.'	16 Cuando se lo mostraron, preguntó: «¿De quién es esta figura y esta inscripción?». Respondieron: «Del César».
17 Jesus said to them, 'Pay Caesar what belongs to Caesar -- and God what belongs to God.' And theywere amazed at him.	17 Entonces Jesús les dijo: «Den al César lo que es del César, y a Dios, lo que es de Dios». Y ellos quedaron sorprendidos por la respuesta.
18 Then some Sadducees -- who deny that there is a resurrection -- came to him and they put thisquestion to him,	18 Se le acercaron unos saduceos, que son los que niegan la resurrección, y le propusieron este caos:
19 'Master, Moses prescribed for us that if a man's brother dies leaving a wife but no child, the manmust marry the widow to raise up children for his brother.	19 «Maestro, Moisés nos ha ordenado lo siguiente: «Si alguien está casado y muere sin tener hijos, que su hermano, para darle descendencia, se case con la viuda».
20 Now there were seven brothers; the first married a wife and then died leaving no children.	20 Ahora bien, había siete hermanos. El primero se casó y murió sin tener hijos.
21 The second married the widow, and he too died leaving no children; with the third it was the same,	21 El segundo se casó con la viuda y también murió sin tener hijos; lo mismo ocurrió con el tercero;
22 and none of the seven left any children. Last of al the woman herself died.	22 y así ninguno de los siete dejó descendencia. Después de todos ellos, murió la mujer.
23 Now at the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife wil she be, since she had been married toal seven?'	23 Cuando resuciten los muertos, ¿de quién será esposa, ya que los siete la tuvieron por mujer?».
24 Jesus said to them, 'Surely the reason why you are wrong is that you understand neither thescriptures nor the power of God.	24 Jesús les dijo: «¿No será que ustedes están equivocados por no comprender las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?
25 For when they rise from the dead, men and women do not marry; no, they are like the angels inheaven.	25 Cuando resuciten los muertos, ni los hombres ni las mujeres se casarán, sino que serán como ángeles en el cielo.
26 Now about the dead rising again, have you never read in the Book of Moses, in the passage aboutthe bush, how God spoke to him and said: I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?	26 Y con respecto a la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no han leído en el Libro de Moisés, en el pasaje de la zarza, lo que Dios le dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob?
27 He is God, not of the dead, but of the living. You are very much mistaken.'	27 El no es un Dios de muertos, sino de vivientes. Ustedes están en un grave error».
28 One of the scribes who had listened to them debating appreciated that Jesus had given a goodanswer and put a further question to him, 'Which is the first of al the commandments?'	28 Un escriba que los oyó discutir, al ver que les había respondido bien, se acercó y le preguntó: «¿Cuál es el primero de los mandamientos?».
29 Jesus replied, 'This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one, only Lord,	29 Jesús respondió: «El primero es: Escucha, Israel: el Señor nuestro Dios es el único Señor;
30 and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with al your mind and withal your strength.	30 y tú amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, con todo tu espíritu y con todas tus fuerzas.
31 The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greaterthan these.'	31 El segundo es: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento más grande que estos».
32 The scribe said to him, 'Well spoken, Master; what you have said is true, that he is one and there isno other.	32 El escriba le dijo: «Muy bien, Maestro, tienes razón al decir que hay un solo Dios y no hay otro más que él,
33 To love him with al your heart, with al your understanding and strength, and to love your neighbouras yourself, this is far more important than any burnt offering or sacrifice.'	33 y que amarlo con todo el corazón, con toda la inteligencia y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a sí mismo, vale más que todos los holocaustos y todos los sacrificios».
34 Jesus, seeing how wisely he had spoken, said, 'You are not far from the kingdom of God.' And afterthat no one dared to question him any more.	34 Jesús, al ver que había respondido tan acertadamente, le dijo: «Tú no estás lejos del Reino de Dios». Y nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.
35 While teaching in the Temple, Jesus said, 'How can the scribes maintain that the Christ is the son ofDavid?	35 Jesús se puso a enseñar en el Templo y preguntaba: «¿Cómo pueden decir los escribas que el Mesías es hijo de David?
36 David himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord declared to my Lord, take your seat at myright hand til I have made your enemies your footstool.	36 El mismo David ha dicho, movido por el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi derecha, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies.
37 David himself calls him Lord; in what way then can he be his son?' And the great crowd listened tohim with delight.	37 Si el mismo David lo llama Señor, ¿Cómo puede ser hijo suyo? La multitud escuchaba a Jesús con agrado.
38 In his teaching he said, 'Beware of the scribes who like to walk about in long robes, to be greetedrespectfully in the market squares,	38 Y él les enseñaba: «Cuídense de los escribas, a quienes les gusta pasearse con largas vestiduras, ser saludados en las plazas
39 to take the front seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at banquets;	39 y ocupar los primeros asientos en las sinagogas y los banquetes;
40 these are the men who devour the property of widows and for show offer long prayers. The moresevere wil be the sentence they receive.'	40 que devoran los bienes de las viudas y fingen hacer largas oraciones. Estos serán juzgados con más severidad».
41 He sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the treasury, andmany of the rich put in a great deal.	41 Jesús se sentó frente a la sala del tesoro del Templo y miraba cómo la gente depositaba su limosna. Muchos ricos daban en abundancia.
42 A poor widow came and put in two smal coins, the equivalent of a penny.	42 Llegó una viuda de condición humilde y colocó dos pequeñas monedas de cobre.
43 Then he cal ed his disciples and said to them, 'In truth I tell you, this poor widow has put more in thanal who have contributed to the treasury;	43 Entonces él llamó a sus discípulos y les dijo: «Les aseguro que esta pobre viuda ha puesto más que cualquiera de los otros,
44 for they have al put in money they could spare, but she in her poverty has put in everything shepossessed, all she had to live on.'	44 porque todos han dado de lo que les sobraba, pero ella, de su indigencia, dio todo lo que poseía, todo lo que tenía para vivir».
