Mark 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 He went on to speak to them in parables, 'A man planted a vineyard; he fenced it round, dug out atrough for the winepress and built a tower; then he leased it to tenants and went abroad.	1 Y se puso a hablarles en parábolas: «Un hombre plantó una viña, la rodeó de una cerca, cavó un lagar y edificó una torre; la arrendó a unos labradores, y se ausentó.
2 When the time came, he sent a servant to the tenants to col ect from them his share of the produce ofthe vineyard.	2 Envió un siervo a los labradores a su debido tiempo para recibir de ellos una parte de los frutos de la viña.
3 But they seized the man, thrashed him and sent him away empty handed.	3 Ellos le agarraron, le golpearon y le despacharon con las manos vacías.
4 Next he sent another servant to them; him they beat about the head and treated shameful y.	4 De nuevo les envió a otro siervo; también a éste le descalabraron y le insultaron.
5 And he sent another and him they kil ed; then a number of others, and they thrashed some and killedthe rest.	5 Y envió a otro y a éste le mataron; y también a otros muchos, hiriendo a unos, matando a otros.
6 He had still someone left: his beloved son. He sent him to them last of al , thinking, "They wil respectmy son."	6 Todavía le quedaba un hijo querido; les envió a éste, el último, diciendo: “A mi hijo le respetarán”.
7 But those tenants said to each other, "This is the heir. Come on, let us kil him, and the inheritance wilbe ours."	7 Pero aquellos labradores dijeron entre sí: “Este es el heredero. Vamos, matémosle, y será nuestra la herencia.”
8 So they seized him and killed him and threw him out of the vineyard.	8 Le agarraron, le mataron y le echaron fuera de la viña.
9 Now what wil the owner of the vineyard do? He wil come and make an end of the tenants and givethe vineyard to others.	9 ¿Qué hará el dueño de la viña? Vendrá y dará muerte a los labradores y entregará la viña a otros.
10 Have you not read this text of scripture: The stone which the builders rejected has become thecornerstone;	10 ¿No habéis leído esta Escritura: La piedra que los constructores desecharon, en piedra angular se ha convertido;
11 this is the Lord's doing, and we marvel at it ?'	11 fue el Señor quien hizo esto y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos?»
12 And they would have liked to arrest him, because they realised that the parable was aimed at them,but they were afraid of the crowds. So they left him alone and went away.	12 Trataban de detenerle - pero tuvieron miedo a la gente - porque habían comprendido que la parábola la había dicho por ellos. Y dejándole, se fueron.
13 Next they sent to him some Pharisees and some Herodians to catch him out in what he said.	13 Y envían donde él algunos fariseos y herodianos, para cazarle en alguna palabra.
14 These came and said to him, 'Master, we know that you are an honest man, that you are not afraid ofanyone, because human rank means nothing to you, and that you teach the way of God in al honesty. Is itpermissible to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay or not?'	14 Vienen y le dicen: «Maestro, sabemos que eres veraz y que no te importa por nadie, porque no miras la condición de las personas, sino que enseñas con franqueza el camino de Dios: ¿Es lícito pagar tributo al César o no? ¿Pagamos o dejamos de pagar?»
15 Recognising their hypocrisy he said to them, 'Why are you putting me to the test? Hand me adenarius and let me see it.'	15 Mas él, dándose cuenta de su hipocresía, les dijo: «¿Por qué me tentáis? Traedme un denario, que lo vea».
16 They handed him one and he said to them, 'Whose portrait is this? Whose title?' They said to him,'Caesar's.'	16 Se lo trajeron y les dice: «¿De quién es esta imagen y la inscripción?» Ellos le dijeron: «Del César».
17 Jesus said to them, 'Pay Caesar what belongs to Caesar -- and God what belongs to God.' And theywere amazed at him.	17 Jesús les dijo: «Lo del César, devolvédselo al César, y lo de Dios, a Dios». Y se maravillaban de él.
18 Then some Sadducees -- who deny that there is a resurrection -- came to him and they put thisquestion to him,	18 Se le acercan unos saduceos, esos que niegan que haya resurrección, y le preguntaban:
19 'Master, Moses prescribed for us that if a man's brother dies leaving a wife but no child, the manmust marry the widow to raise up children for his brother.	19 «Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito que si muere el hermano de alguno y deja mujer y no deja hijos, que su hermano tome a la mujer para dar descendencia a su hermano.
20 Now there were seven brothers; the first married a wife and then died leaving no children.	20 Eran siete hermanos: el primero tomó mujer, pero murió sin dejar descendencia;
21 The second married the widow, and he too died leaving no children; with the third it was the same,	21 también el segundo la tomó y murió sin dejar descendencia; y el tercero lo mismo.
22 and none of the seven left any children. Last of al the woman herself died.	22 Ninguno de los siete dejó descendencia. Después de todos, murió también la mujer.
23 Now at the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife wil she be, since she had been married toal seven?'	23 En la resurrección, cuando resuciten, ¿de cuál de ellos será mujer? Porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer».
24 Jesus said to them, 'Surely the reason why you are wrong is that you understand neither thescriptures nor the power of God.	24 Jesús les contestó: «¿No estáis en un error precisamente por esto, por no entender las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?
25 For when they rise from the dead, men and women do not marry; no, they are like the angels inheaven.	25 Pues cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, ni ellos tomarán mujer ni ellas marido, sino que serán como ángeles en los cielos.
26 Now about the dead rising again, have you never read in the Book of Moses, in the passage aboutthe bush, how God spoke to him and said: I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?	26 Y acerca de que los muertos resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés, en lo de la zarza, cómo Dios le dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob?
27 He is God, not of the dead, but of the living. You are very much mistaken.'	27 No es un Dios de muertos, sino de vivos. Estáis en un gran error».
28 One of the scribes who had listened to them debating appreciated that Jesus had given a goodanswer and put a further question to him, 'Which is the first of al the commandments?'	28 Acercóse uno de los escribas que les había oído y, viendo que les había respondido muy bien, le preguntó: «¿Cuál es el primero de todos los mandamientos?»
29 Jesus replied, 'This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one, only Lord,	29 Jesús le contestó: «El primero es: Escucha, Israel: El Señor, nuestro Dios, es el único Señor,
30 and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with al your mind and withal your strength.	30 y amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas.
31 The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greaterthan these.'	31 El segundo es: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No existe otro mandamiento mayor que éstos».
32 The scribe said to him, 'Well spoken, Master; what you have said is true, that he is one and there isno other.	32 Le dijo el escriba: «Muy bien, Maestro; tienes razón al decir que El es único y que no hay otro fuera de El,
33 To love him with al your heart, with al your understanding and strength, and to love your neighbouras yourself, this is far more important than any burnt offering or sacrifice.'	33 y amarle con todo el corazón, con toda la inteligencia y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a si mismo vale más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios».
34 Jesus, seeing how wisely he had spoken, said, 'You are not far from the kingdom of God.' And afterthat no one dared to question him any more.	34 Y Jesús, viendo que le había contestado con sensatez, le dijo: «No estás lejos del Reino de Dios». Y nadie más se atrevía ya a hacerle preguntas.
35 While teaching in the Temple, Jesus said, 'How can the scribes maintain that the Christ is the son ofDavid?	35 Jesús, tomando la palabra, decía mientras enseñaba en el Templo: «¿Cómo dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David?
36 David himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord declared to my Lord, take your seat at myright hand til I have made your enemies your footstool.	36 David mismo dijo, movido por el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies.
37 David himself calls him Lord; in what way then can he be his son?' And the great crowd listened tohim with delight.	37 El mismo David le llama Señor; ¿cómo entonces puede ser hijo suyo?» La muchedumbre le oía con agrado.
38 In his teaching he said, 'Beware of the scribes who like to walk about in long robes, to be greetedrespectfully in the market squares,	38 Decía también en su instrucción: «Guardaos de los escribas, que gustan pasear con amplio ropaje, ser saludados en las plazas,
39 to take the front seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at banquets;	39 ocupar los primeros asientos en las sinagogas y los primeros puestos en los banquetes;
40 these are the men who devour the property of widows and for show offer long prayers. The moresevere wil be the sentence they receive.'	40 y que devoran la hacienda de las viudas so capa de largas oraciones. Esos tendrán una sentencia más rigurosa.
41 He sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the treasury, andmany of the rich put in a great deal.	41 Jesús se sentó frente al arca del Tesoro y miraba cómo echaba la gente monedas en el arca del Tesoro: muchos ricos echaban mucho.
42 A poor widow came and put in two smal coins, the equivalent of a penny.	42 Llegó también una viuda pobre y echó dos moneditas, o sea, una cuarta parte del as.
43 Then he cal ed his disciples and said to them, 'In truth I tell you, this poor widow has put more in thanal who have contributed to the treasury;	43 Entonces, llamando a sus discípulos, les dijo: «Os digo de verdad que esta viuda pobre ha echado más que todos los que echan en el arca del Tesoro.
44 for they have al put in money they could spare, but she in her poverty has put in everything shepossessed, all she had to live on.'	44 Pues todos han echado de los que les sobraba, ésta, en cambio, ha echado de lo que necesitaba todo cuanto poseía, todo lo que tenía para vivir.
