Matthew 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say, and he left Galilee and came into the territory ofJudaea on the far side of the Jordan.	1 Or Gesù, finiti questi discorsi, si parti dalla Galilea e andò nel territorio della Giudea di là del Giordano.
2 Large crowds fol owed him and he healed them there.	2 E lo seguì molta gente ed egli curò i loro malati.
3 Some Pharisees approached him, and to put him to the test they said, 'Is it against the Law for a manto divorce his wife on any pretext whatever?'	3 E si accostarono a lui dei Farisei per tentarlo, e gli dissero: E' lecito all'uomo ripudiare, per un motivo qualsiasi, la propria moglie?
4 He answered, 'Have you not read that the Creator from the beginning made them male and female	4 Ed egli rispose loro: Non avete letto che il Creatore da principio li creò maschio e femmina? E disse:
5 and that he said: This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife,and the two become one flesh?	5 Per questo l'uomo lascerà il padre e la madre e si unirà con la moglie, e i due saranno una sola carne.
6 They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. So then, what God has united, human beings mustnot divide.'	6 Dunque, non son più due, ma una sola carne. Ciò che Dio ha congiunto l'uomo dunque non lo divida.
7 They said to him, 'Then why did Moses command that a writ of dismissal should be given in cases ofdivorce?'	7 Ma perchè dunque, gli replicarono, Mosè comandò di dare il libello del ripudio e di mandarla via?
8 He said to them, 'It was because you were so hard-hearted, that Moses al owed you to divorce yourwives, but it was not like this from the beginning.	8 E Gesù: Per la durezza del vostro cuore, Mosè vi permise di ripudiare le vostre mogli; ma da principio non fu così.
9 Now I say this to you: anyone who divorces his wife -- I am not speaking of an il icit marriage -- andmarries another, is guilty of adultery.'	9 Però io vi dico: chi rimanda la propria moglie, eccetto in caso di fornicazione, e ne prende un'altra, è adultero; e chi sposa la ripudiata è adultero.
10 The disciples said to him, 'If that is how things are between husband and wife, it is advisable not tomarry.'	10 Gli dicono i suoi discepoli: Se tale è la condizione dell'uomo rispetto alla moglie, non mette conto sposarsi.
11 But he replied, 'It is not everyone who can accept what I have said, but only those to whom it isgranted.	11 Ed egli disse loro: Non tutti capiscono questo, ma soltanto quelli a cui è stato concesso.
12 There are eunuchs born so from their mother's womb, there are eunuchs made so by human agencyand there are eunuchs who have made themselves so for the sake of the kingdom of Heaven. Let anyoneaccept this who can.'	12 Ci sono infatti degli eunuchi, usciti tali dal seno della madre, e ci sono degli eunuchi fatti tali dagli uomini, e ci sono di quelli che si son fatti eunuchi da sè in vista del regno dei cieli. Comprenda chi può.
13 Then people brought little children to him, for him to lay his hands on them and pray. The disciplesscolded them,	13 Allora gli furono presentati dei bambini, affinchè imponesse loro le mani pregando. Ma i discepoli li sgridavano.
14 but Jesus said, 'Let the little children alone, and do not stop them from coming to me; for it is to suchas these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.'	14 E Gesù disse loro: Lasciateli fare i bambini, e non impedite loro di venire a me: di tali è infatti il re­gno dei cieli.
15 Then he laid his hands on them and went on his way.	15 E imposte loro le mani, se ne partì.
16 And now a man came to him and asked, 'Master, what good deed must I do to possess eternal life?'	16 Ed ecco un tale accostarsi e dirgli: Buon maestro, che dovrò fare di bene io per avere la vita eterna?
17 Jesus said to him, 'Why do you ask me about what is good? There is one alone who is good. But ifyou wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.'	17 E Gesù gli rispose: Perchè m'interroghi riguardo al bene? Uno solo è buono, Dio. Or se vuoi entrare nella vita, osserva i comandamenti.
18 He said, 'Which ones?' Jesus replied, 'These: You shall not kil . You shall not commit adultery. Youshall not steal. You shal not give false witness.	18 Quali? gli domandò. E Gesù rispose: Non uccidere, non commettere adulterio, non rubare, non testimoniare il falso:
19 Honour your father and your mother. You shal love your neighbour as yourself.'	19 onora il padre e la madre, e ama il prossimo tuo come te stesso.
20 The young man said to him, 'I have kept al these. What more do I need to do?'	20 E il giovane a lui: Tutto questo l'ho osservato fin da fanciullo; che altro mi manca?
21 Jesus said, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give the money to the poor,and you wil have treasure in heaven; then come, fol ow me.'	21 Gesù gli rispose: Se vuoi essere perfetto, va', vendi quanto hai, dallo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro nel cielo, poi vieni e seguimi.
22 But when the young man heard these words he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth.	22 Ma il giovane, udite queste parole, se ne andò via tutto contristato, perchè aveva molti beni.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'In truth I tell you, it is hard for someone rich to enter the kingdom ofHeaven.	23 E Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: In verità vi dico: un ricco entrerà difficilmente nel regno dei cieli.
24 Yes, I tel you again, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someonerich to enter the kingdom of Heaven.'	24 E vi dico di più, che è più facile per un cammello passare per una cruna d'ago che per un ricco entrare nel regno dei cieli.
25 When the disciples heard this they were astonished. 'Who can be saved, then?' they said.	25 Udito ciò i discepoli, molto maravigliati, esclamarono: Chi potrà dunque salvarsi?
26 Jesus gazed at them. 'By human resources', he told them, 'this is impossible; for God everything ispossible.'	26 E Gesù, guardatili, disse loro: Questo è impossibile agli uomini, ma a Dio tutto è possibile.
27 Then Peter answered and said, 'Look, we have left everything and fol owed you. What are we tohave, then?'	27 Allora Pietro prese addirgli: Ecco noi abbiamo lasciato ogni cosa e ti abbiamo seguito, che ce ne verrà?
28 Jesus said to them, 'In truth I tel you, when everything is made new again and the Son of man isseated on his throne of glory, you yourselves wil sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.	28 E Gesù disse loro: In verità vi dico: voi che mi avete seguito, nella rigenerazione, quando il Figlio dell'uomo sederà sul trono della sua gloria, sederete anche voi sopra dodici troni a giudicare le dodici tribù d'Israele.
29 And everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children or land for the sake ofmy name wil receive a hundred times as much, and also inherit eternal life.	29 E chi avrà lasciato la casa, fratelli o sorelle, o padre o madre, o moglie o figli, o i campi per amor del mio nome, riceverà il centuplo, e possederà la vita eterna.
30 'Many who are first will be last, and the last, first.'	30 E molti, di primi saranno ultimi, e d'ultimi primi.
