Matthew 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Jesus had now finished what he wanted to say, and he left Galilee and came into the territory ofJudaea on the far side of the Jordan.	1 - Gesù, terminati questi suoi discorsi, si partì dalla Galilea e andò nel territorio della Giudea, oltre il Giordano.
2 Large crowds fol owed him and he healed them there.	2 Molta gente lo seguiva ed egli guariva i loro ammalati.
3 Some Pharisees approached him, and to put him to the test they said, 'Is it against the Law for a manto divorce his wife on any pretext whatever?'	3 Allora i Farisei andarono a trovarlo, e per tentarlo gli domandarono: «È lecito mandar via la propria moglie per qualunque motivo?».
4 He answered, 'Have you not read that the Creator from the beginning made them male and female	4 Egli rispose: «Non avete letto che il Creatore da principio li creò maschio e femmina e disse:
5 and that he said: This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife,and the two become one flesh?	5 - Per questo lascerà l'uomo suo padre e sua madre e si unirà con sua moglie e i due saranno una sola carne -?
6 They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. So then, what God has united, human beings mustnot divide.'	6 Perciò essi non sono più due, ma una sola carne. Non divida dunque l'uomo quello che Dio ha congiunto».
7 They said to him, 'Then why did Moses command that a writ of dismissal should be given in cases ofdivorce?'	7 «Perchè dunque», gli chiesero «Mosè prescrisse di darle il libello del ripudio e di mandarla via?».
8 He said to them, 'It was because you were so hard-hearted, that Moses al owed you to divorce yourwives, but it was not like this from the beginning.	8 Rispose loro: «Per la durezza del vostro cuore Mosè vi permise di ripudiare le vostre mogli; ma da principio non era così.
9 Now I say this to you: anyone who divorces his wife -- I am not speaking of an il icit marriage -- andmarries another, is guilty of adultery.'	9 Io poi vi dico che chiunque mandi via sua moglie, salvo il caso di fornicazione, e ne sposa un'altra, commette adulterio, e chi s'ammoglia con la donna ripudiata, diventa adultero».
10 The disciples said to him, 'If that is how things are between husband and wife, it is advisable not tomarry.'	10 I discepoli gli osservarono: «Se tale è la condizione dell'uomo rispetto alla donna, non torna conto d'ammogliarsi!».
11 But he replied, 'It is not everyone who can accept what I have said, but only those to whom it isgranted.	11 Rispose loro: «Non tutti comprendono questa parola, ma quelli solo ai quali è stato concesso.
12 There are eunuchs born so from their mother's womb, there are eunuchs made so by human agencyand there are eunuchs who have made themselves so for the sake of the kingdom of Heaven. Let anyoneaccept this who can.'	12 Perchè vi son degli eunuchi che sono nati così dal seno della madre, e vi son degli eunuchi che furon fatti tali dagli uomini, e ve ne son di quelli che si son fatti eunuchi da sè in vista del regno dei cieli. Chi può comprendere, comprenda».
13 Then people brought little children to him, for him to lay his hands on them and pray. The disciplesscolded them,	13 Allora gli furon presentati dei fanciulli affinchè imponesse loro le mani e pregasse: ma i discepoli sgridavano questa gente.
14 but Jesus said, 'Let the little children alone, and do not stop them from coming to me; for it is to suchas these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.'	14 Gesù disse loro: «Lasciate stare i fanciulli e non impedite loro di venire a me, poichè proprio di loro è il regno dei cieli».
15 Then he laid his hands on them and went on his way.	15 E imposte ad essi le mani, partì da quel luogo.
16 And now a man came to him and asked, 'Master, what good deed must I do to possess eternal life?'	16 Allora gli s'accostò uno dicendogli: «Maestro buono, cosa devo fare di buono per avere la vita eterna?».
17 Jesus said to him, 'Why do you ask me about what is good? There is one alone who is good. But ifyou wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.'	17 Gesù gli osservò: «Perchè m'interroghi su ciò ch'è buono? Solo Iddio è buono. Se vuoi entrare nella vita, osserva i comandamenti».
18 He said, 'Which ones?' Jesus replied, 'These: You shall not kil . You shall not commit adultery. Youshall not steal. You shal not give false witness.	18 «E quali?» gli chiese. Gesù rispose: «Non uccidere; non fare adulterio; non rubare; non testimoniare il falso;
19 Honour your father and your mother. You shal love your neighbour as yourself.'	19 onora il padre e la madre e ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso».
20 The young man said to him, 'I have kept al these. What more do I need to do?'	20 Il giovane soggiunse: «Tutte queste cose ho osservate fin dalla mia infanzia; cosa mi manca ancora?».
21 Jesus said, 'If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give the money to the poor,and you wil have treasure in heaven; then come, fol ow me.'	21 Gesù continuò: «Se vuoi essere perfetto, va', vendi ciò che hai e donalo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro in cielo; poi vieni e seguimi».
22 But when the young man heard these words he went away sad, for he was a man of great wealth.	22 Udite queste parole il giovane se n'andò contristato, perchè aveva molti beni.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'In truth I tell you, it is hard for someone rich to enter the kingdom ofHeaven.	23 E Gesù disse a' suoi discepoli: «Vi dico in verità che difficilmente un ricco entrerà nel regno de' cieli.
24 Yes, I tel you again, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someonerich to enter the kingdom of Heaven.'	24 E di bel nuovo vi dico che è più facile per un cammello passare per la cruna di un ago, che non per un ricco entrare nel regno dei cieli».
25 When the disciples heard this they were astonished. 'Who can be saved, then?' they said.	25 Udendo queste cose i discepoli si sbigottirono e chiesero: «Chi potrà dunque salvarsi?».
26 Jesus gazed at them. 'By human resources', he told them, 'this is impossible; for God everything ispossible.'	26 E Gesù guardatili disse loro: «Questo è impossibile all'uomo, ma tutto è possibile a Dio».
27 Then Peter answered and said, 'Look, we have left everything and fol owed you. What are we tohave, then?'	27 Allora Pietro prese a dirgli: «Ecco, noi abbiamo abbandonato ogni cosa e t'abbiamo seguìto; cosa toccherà dunque a noi?».
28 Jesus said to them, 'In truth I tel you, when everything is made new again and the Son of man isseated on his throne of glory, you yourselves wil sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.	28 Rispose Gesù: «In verità vi dico, che quando, nella rigenerazione, il Figliuol dell'uomo sarà seduto sul trono della sua gloria, sederete anche voi, che mi avete seguito, su dodici troni a giudicare le dodici tribù d'Israele.
29 And everyone who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children or land for the sake ofmy name wil receive a hundred times as much, and also inherit eternal life.	29 E chiunque avrà abbandonato la casa, o i fratelli, o le sorelle, o il padre o la madre, o la moglie o i figli, o i campi per amor del mio nome, ne riceverà il centuplo e possederà la vita eterna.
30 'Many who are first will be last, and the last, first.'	30 E molti che sono i primi saranno gli ultimi, e parecchi che son gli ultimi saranno i primi.
