NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 A message. The word of Yahweh to Israel through Malachi.	1 Oracle. Parole de Yahvé à Israël, par le ministère de Malachie.
2 'I have loved you, says Yahweh. But you ask, "How have you shown your love?" Was not Esau Jacob'sbrother? declares Yahweh; even so, I loved Jacob	2 Je vous ai aimés! dit Yahvé. - Cependant vous dites: En quoi nous as-tu aimés? - Esaü n'était-il pasle frère de Jacob? Oracle de Yahvé; or j'ai aimé Jacob
3 but I hated Esau. I turned his mountains into a desert and his heritage into dwellings in the wastelands.	3 mais j'ai haï Esaü. Je fis de ses montagnes une solitude et de son héritage des pâturages de désert.
4 If Edom says, "We have been struck down but we shall rebuild our ruins," Yahweh Sabaoth says this,"Let them build, but I shal pul down! They wil be known as Land of Wickedness and Nation-with-which-Yahweh-is-angry-for-ever.	4 Si Edom dit: "Nous avons été détruits, mais nous relèverons nos ruines", ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot:Qu'ils bâtissent, moi je démolirai! On les surnommera "Territoire d'impiété" et "Le peuple contre qui Yahvé estcourroucé à jamais."
5 You wil see this yourselves and you wil say: Yahweh is mighty beyond the borders of Israel."	5 Vos yeux le verront et vous direz: Yahvé est grand par-delà le territoire d'Israël!
6 'The son honours his father, the slave stands in awe of his master. But if I am indeed father, where isthe honour due to me? And if I am indeed master, where is the awe due to me? says Yahweh Sabaoth to youpriests who despise my name. You ask, "How have we despised your name?"	6 Un fils honore son père; un serviteur craint son maître. Mais si je suis père, où donc est l'honneurqui m'est dû? Si je suis maître, où donc est ma crainte? Dit Yahvé Sabaot, à vous les prêtres, qui méprisez monNom. - Mais vous dites: En quoi avons-nous méprisé ton Nom? --
7 By putting pol uted food on my altar. You ask, "How have we polluted you?" By saying, "The table ofYahweh deserves no respect."	7 C'est que vous offrez sur mon autel des aliments souillés. - Mais vous dites: En quoi t'avons-noussouillé? - En disant: La table de Yahvé est méprisable.
8 When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is this not wrong? When you bring the lame and thediseased, is this not wrong? If you offer them to your governor, see if he is pleased with them or receives yougraciously, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	8 Quand vous amenez des bêtes aveugles pour le sacrifice, n'est-ce pas mal? Et quand vous enamenez des boiteuses ou des malades, n'est-ce pas mal? Présente-les donc à ton gouverneur: en sera-t-il content?Te recevra-t-il bien? Dit Yahvé Sabaot.
9 In that case, try pleading with God to take pity on us (that is what you have done), and wil he take anynotice? says Yahweh Sabaoth.	9 Et maintenant implorez donc Dieu pour qu'il nous prenne en pitié (c'est de vos mains que celavient): vous recevra-t-il? Dit Yahvé Sabaot.
10 Why does one of you not close the doors and so stop the pointless lighting of fires on my altar? I amnot pleased with you, says Yahweh Sabaoth; from your hands I find no offerings acceptable.	10 Oh! qui d'entre vous fermera les portes pour que vous n'embrasiez pas inutilement mon autel? Jene prends nul plaisir en vous, dit Yahvé Sabaot, et n'agrée point les offrandes de vos mains.
11 But from farthest east to farthest west my name is great among the nations, and everywhere incenseand a pure gift are offered to my name, since my name is great among the nations, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	11 Mais, du levant au couchant, mon Nom est grand chez les nations, et en tout lieu un sacrificed'encens est présenté à mon Nom ainsi qu'une offrande pure. Car grand est mon Nom chez les nations! dit YahvéSabaot.
12 'But you have profaned it by saying, "The table of the Lord is pol uted, hence the food offered on itdeserves no respect."	12 Tandis que vous, vous le profanez, en disant: La table du Seigneur est souillée, et ses alimentsméprisables.
13 You say, "How tiresome it al is!" and sniff disdainful y at me, says Yahweh Sabaoth. You bring astolen, lame or diseased animal, you bring that as an offering! Am I to accept this from you? says YahwehSabaoth.	13 Vous dites: Voyez, que de souci! et vous me dédaignez, dit Yahvé Sabaot. Vous amenez l'animaldérobé, le boiteux et le malade, et vous l'amenez en offrande. Puis-je l'agréer de votre main? Dit Yahvé Sabaot.
14 Cursed be the rogue who has a male in his flock but pays his vow by sacrificing a blemished animal tome! For I am a great king, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and among the nations my name inspires awe.'	14 Maudit soit le tricheur qui possède dans son troupeau un mâle qu'il voue, et qui me sacrifie unebête tarée. Car je suis un Grand Roi, dit Yahvé Sabaot, et mon Nom est redoutable chez les nations.
