Zechariah 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 A proclamation. The word of Yahweh is against Hadrach, it has come to rest on Damascus, for thesource of Aram belongs to Yahweh no less than al the tribes of Israel;	1 Oráculo. La palabra del Señor llegó al país de Jadrac, y en Damasco está su reposo; porque al Señor pertenece la fuente de Aram, como todas las tribus de Israel,
2 on Hamath too, which borders on it, and on (Tyre and) Sidon, despite her acumen.	2 y también Jamat, que está en su frontera, y Tiro y Sidón. Por su gran sabiduría,
3 Tyre has built herself a fortress, has heaped up silver like dust and gold like the dirt of the streets.	3 Tiro se construyó una fortaleza, amontonó plata como polvo y oro fino como barro de las calles.
4 And now the Lord is going to dispossess her; at sea he wil break her power, and she herself will go upin flames.	4 Pero el Señor va a apoderarse de eso, arrojará su poderío en el mar y ella misma será presa de las llamas.
5 Seeing this, Ashkelon wil be terrified, Gaza too, and writhe with grief, Ekron too, at the ruin of herprospects; the king wil vanish from Gaza and Ashkelon be unpeopled,	5 Lo verá Ascalón y temerá; también Gaza, y se retorcerá de dolor, y lo mismo Ecrón, porque su esperanza quedó defraudada; Gaza no tendrá más rey, Ascalón ya no será habitada
6 while a half-breed wil live in Ashdod! Yes, I shal destroy the pride of the Philistine;	6 y gente bastarda se instalará en Asdod. Yo aniquilaré el orgullo del filisteo,
7 I shal snatch his blood from his mouth, his abominations from between his teeth. But his remnant toowil belong to our God, becoming like a clan in Judah, and Ekron wil become like a Jebusite.	7 quitaré la sangre de su boca y sus abominaciones de entre sus dientes. El también será un resto para nuestro Dios, será como un jefe en Judá, y Ecrón será como un jebuseo.
8 I shal stand guard before my home to defend it against al comers, and no oppressor wil overrun themever again, for now I am on the alert.	8 Yo acamparé junto a mi casa como una guardia contra los que pasan y vuelven: no pasará más entre ellos ningún opresor, porque ahora he visto con mis ojos.
9 Rejoice heart and soul, daughter of Zion! Shout for joy, daughter of Jerusalem! Look, your king isapproaching, he is vindicated and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.	9 ¡Alégrate mucho, hija de Sión! ¡Grita de júbilo, hija de Jerusalén! Mira que tu Rey viene hacia ti; él es justo y victorioso, es humilde y está montado sobre un asno, sobre la cría de un asna.
10 He wil banish chariots from Ephraim and horses from Jerusalem; the bow of war wil be banished. Hewil proclaim peace to the nations, his empire wil stretch from sea to sea, from the River to the limits of the earth.	10 El suprimirá los carros de Efraím y los caballos de Jerusalén; el arco de guerra será suprimido y proclamará la paz a las naciones. Su dominio se extenderá de un mar hasta el otro, y desde el Río hasta los confines de la tierra.
11 As for you, because of the blood of your covenant I have released your prisoners from the pit in whichthere is no water.	11 En cuanto a ti, por la sangre de alianza yo libraré a tus cautivos de la fosa sin agua.
12 Come back to the fortress, you prisoners waiting in hope. This very day, I vow, I shal make it up to youtwice over.	12 Vuelvan a la plaza fuerte, cautivos llenos de esperanza. Sí, hoy mismo lo declaro: yo te daré una doble compensación.
13 For I have strung Judah as a bow for myself, laid Ephraim on the string as an arrow, have roused yoursons, Zion, against your sons, Javan, and have made you like a warrior's sword.	13 Porque yo tendí mi arco: es Judá; lo armé con Efraím. Lanzaré a tus hijos, Sión, contra tus hijos, Javán; te empuñaré como una espada de guerrero.
14 Then Yahweh wil appear above them and his arrow wil flash out like lightning. (The Lord) Yahweh wilsound the trumpet and advance in the storm-winds of the south.	14 El Señor aparecerá sobre ellos, y su flecha partirá como el rayo. El Señor hará sonar la trompeta y avanzará en los torbellinos del sur.
15 Yahweh Sabaoth will protect them! They wil devour, wil trample on the sling-stones, they wil drinkblood like wine, awash like bowls, like the corners of the altar.	15 El Señor de los ejércitos los escudará; ellos triunfarán y pisotearán las piedras de las hondas, beberán la sangre como si fuera vino, se llenarán como la copa de la aspersión, como los ángulos del altar.
16 Yahweh their God wil give them victory when that day comes, like the sheep who are his people; yes,the stones of a diadem wil sparkle over his country.	16 El Señor, su Dios, los salvará en aquel día, como al rebaño de su pueblo; como piedras de una diadema, resplandecerán sobre su tierra.
17 How fine, how splendid that will be, with wheat to make the young men flourish, and new wine themaidens!	17 ¡Qué felicidad y qué hermosura! El trigo dará vigor a los jóvenes y el vino nuevo a las jóvenes.
