2 Yahweh, I have heard of your renown; your work, Yahweh, inspires me with dread. Make it live again inour time, make it known in our time; in wrath remember mercy.	2 «Signore, ho udito il tuo annunzio e ho temuto;Signore, l'opera tua ravviva in mezzo agli anni, in mezzo agli anni rendila manifesta; anche sdegnato, della misericordia ti ricorderai.
3 Eloah comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Pause His majesty covers theheavens, and his glory fills the earth.	3 Iddio verrà dall'Austro, e il Santo dal monte di Faran. La sua gloria copre i cielie della sua lode è piena la terra.
4 His brightness is like the day, rays flash from his hands, that is where his power lies hidden.	4 Il suo splendore è come la luce; ha raggi nelle mani: ivi egli asconde la sua potenza.
5 Pestilence goes before him and Plague follows close behind.	5 Davanti alla sua faccia incede la morte, esce il diavolo dinanzi ai passi suoi.
6 When he stands up, he makes the earth tremble, with his glance he makes the nations quake. And theeternal mountains are dislodged, the everlasting hil s sink down, his pathway from of old.	6 Ristette e squadrò la terra, guardò e le nazioni si dileguarono, e le montagne secolari si squarciarono, s'inchinarono le vette del mondosotto i suoi passi ricalcanti i sentieri eterni.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in trouble, the tent-curtains of Midian shuddering.	7 In tribolazione ho veduto le tende di Etiopia, sconvolti i padiglioni della terra di Madian.
8 Yahweh, are you enraged with the rivers, are you angry with the sea, that you should mount yourchargers, your rescuing chariots?	8 Forse contro i fiumi sei adirato, o Signore? Contro i fiumi è il tuo sdegno? o contro il mare la tua collera, quando ascendi i tuoi destrieri, e le tue quadrighe di salvezza?
9 You uncover your bow, and give the string its fill of arrows. PauseYou drench the soil with torrents;	9 Brandisci l'arco tuoa guarentigia dei giuramenti che tu hai prestato alle tribù. Tu fendi i fiumi della terra.
10 the mountains see you and tremble, great floods sweep by, the abyss roars aloud, lifting high itswaves.	10 Ti hanno visto i monti e hanno gemuto, un rovescio d'acque passò; l'abisso mandò la sua voce e prostese le sue mani la profondità.
11 Sun and moon stay inside their dwel ings, they flee at the light of your arrows, at the flash of yourlightning-spear.	11 Il sole e la luna si arrestarono nei loro penetrali; avanzano alla luce delle tue saette, al lampeggiare della tua asta sfolgorante.
12 In rage you stride across the land, in anger you trample the nations.	12 Tu calchi la terra nel tuo disdegnosbigottisci nel tuo furore le genti.
13 You marched to save your people, to save your anointed one; you wounded the head of the house ofthe wicked, laid bare the foundation to the rock. Pause	13 Tu sei uscito alla salvezza del tuo popolo, alla salvezza insieme col tuo Unto. Tu hai percosso il capo della casa dell'empio, mettesti a nudo le fondamenta fino al collo.
14 With your shafts you pierced the leader of his warriors who stormed out with shouts of joy to scatterus, as if they meant to devour some poor wretch in their lair.	14 Hai maledetto agli scettri suoi, al capo dei loro guerrieriirrompenti come un turbine per disperdermi, esultanti come chi divora il povero nascostamente.
15 With your horses you trampled through the sea, through the surging abyss!	15 Hai aperto una strada nel mare ai tuoi cavallinel limo delle acque profonde.
16 When I heard, I trembled to the core, my lips quivered at the sound; my bones became disjointed andmy legs gave way beneath me. Calmly I await the day of anguish which is dawning on the people now attackingus.	16 Udii, e si conturbarono le mie viscere; mi tremarono le labbra a quella voce! Entri pure nelle ossa mie la carie, e brulichi sotto di me: affinchè nel giorno dell'angustia in riposo mi ritrovi, affinchè salga al preparato popolo nostro.
17 (For the fig tree is not to blossom, nor wil the vines bear fruit, the olive crop wil disappoint and thefields wil yield no food; the sheep wil vanish from the fold; no cattle in the stal s.)	17 Perchè il fico più non fioriràe la vigna non germoglierà; il prodotto dell'olivo fallirà, e i coltivati non porteranno cibo; sarà strappata all'ovile la greggiae nelle stalle più non sarà l'armento.
18 But I shal rejoice in Yahweh, I shall exult in God my Saviour.	18 Ma io mi rallegrerò nel Signore ed esulterò nel Dio della mia salvezza.
19 Yahweh my Lord is my strength, he wil make my feet as light as a doe's, and set my steps on theheights. For the choirmaster; on stringed instruments.	19 Il Signore Dio è la mia forza, mi renderà i piedi come quelli dei cervi, e mi farà camminare sulle alture.»
