2 Yahweh, I have heard of your renown; your work, Yahweh, inspires me with dread. Make it live again inour time, make it known in our time; in wrath remember mercy.	2 Udii, o Signore, il tuo annunzio, e ne ebbi timore. Signore, a quell'opra tua dà esistenza nel mezzo degli anni. Nel mezzo degli anni tu la farai manifesta: quando ti sarai adirato, ti ricorderai della misericordia.
3 Eloah comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Pause His majesty covers theheavens, and his glory fills the earth.	3 Iddio verrà dall'Austro, e il santo dal monte di Pharan: La gloria di lui ricuopre i cieli, e delle sue lodi è ripiena la terra.
4 His brightness is like the day, rays flash from his hands, that is where his power lies hidden.	4 Egli sarà splendente come la luce: nelle sue mani le corna: Ivi è ascosa la sua possanza.
5 Pestilence goes before him and Plague follows close behind.	5 Innanzi a lui anderà la morte, e il diavolo precederà i suoi passi.
6 When he stands up, he makes the earth tremble, with his glance he makes the nations quake. And theeternal mountains are dislodged, the everlasting hil s sink down, his pathway from of old.	6 Si stette, e misurò la terra. Mirò, e conquise le genti, e le vetuste montagne furono stritolate: Furon depressi i colli del mondo, allorché si messe in viaggio l'eterno.
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in trouble, the tent-curtains of Midian shuddering.	7 Per ragion delle iniquità ho veduto le tende dell'Etiopia, e sconvolti i padiglioni di Madian.
8 Yahweh, are you enraged with the rivers, are you angry with the sea, that you should mount yourchargers, your rescuing chariots?	8 Forse contro le onde se' tu adirato, o Signore? o i tuoi furori son contro i flutti? o contro del mare si rivolge il tuo sdegno? Tu, che monti su' tuoi cavalli, e la tua quadriga è salvazione.
9 You uncover your bow, and give the string its fill of arrows. PauseYou drench the soil with torrents;	9 Tu metterai fuora risolutamente il tuo arco, secondo i giuramenti fatti a quelle tribù: Tu dividerai i fiumi della terra:
10 the mountains see you and tremble, great floods sweep by, the abyss roars aloud, lifting high itswaves.	10 Te videro le montagne, e tremarono; le gonfie fiumane si ritirarono; Gli abissi alzaron le voci loro, il profondo mare stese sue mani.
11 Sun and moon stay inside their dwel ings, they flee at the light of your arrows, at the flash of yourlightning-spear.	11 Il sole, e la luna si stettero ai loro posti: se n'anderanno quelli al chiarore di tue saette, al lampeggiare dell'asta tua folgoreggiante.
12 In rage you stride across the land, in anger you trample the nations.	12 Tu fremente conculcherai la terra, e nel tuo furore renderai stupide le nazioni.
13 You marched to save your people, to save your anointed one; you wounded the head of the house ofthe wicked, laid bare the foundation to the rock. Pause	13 Ti movesti per salvare il tuo popolo, per salvarlo tu col tuo Cristo. Percuotesti il capo della casa dell'empio, discopristi i fondamenti di lei da imo a sommo.
14 With your shafts you pierced the leader of his warriors who stormed out with shouts of joy to scatterus, as if they meant to devour some poor wretch in their lair.	14 Maledicesti il suo scettro, il capo de' suoi guerrieri, che venivan qual turbine per isperdermi. La loro burbanza come di chi si divora il povero nascostamente.
15 With your horses you trampled through the sea, through the surging abyss!	15 Facesti strada nel mare a' tuoi cavalli, per mezzo al fango delle acque profonde.
16 When I heard, I trembled to the core, my lips quivered at the sound; my bones became disjointed andmy legs gave way beneath me. Calmly I await the day of anguish which is dawning on the people now attackingus.	16 Udii, e le mie viscere si commossero: a tal voce tremarono le mie labbra. Entri la putredine nelle mie ossa, e pulluli dentro di me; Perchè io abbia riposo nel giorno della tribolazione, e vada ad unirmi al nostro popolo accinto.
17 (For the fig tree is not to blossom, nor wil the vines bear fruit, the olive crop wil disappoint and thefields wil yield no food; the sheep wil vanish from the fold; no cattle in the stal s.)	17 Perocché il fico non fiorirà, e la vigna non butterà: L'ulivo non manterrà fede col frutto, e le campagne non daranno da mangiare: Saran rapite dall'ovile le pecore, e le stalle saran senza armenti.
18 But I shal rejoice in Yahweh, I shall exult in God my Saviour.	18 Ma io mi rallegrerò nel Signore, ed esulterò in Dio, mio Gesù.
19 Yahweh my Lord is my strength, he wil make my feet as light as a doe's, and set my steps on theheights. For the choirmaster; on stringed instruments.	19 Il Signore Dio, mia fortezza: ed egli mi darà piedi come di cervo, Ed ei vincitore agli eccelsi luoghi miei mi condurrà cantante dei salmi.
