NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 I shal stand at my post, I shall station myself on my watch-tower, watching to see what he wil say tome, what answer he wil make to my complaints.	1 - Ed ora sto fermo in vedetta, mi tengo in piedi sul baluardo e osserverò, per vedere ciò che mi si dirà, e come rispondere a colui che mi redarguisce.
2 Then Yahweh answered me and said, 'Write the vision down, inscribe it on tablets to be easily read.	2 E il Signore mi rispose e disse: - Scrivi la visione e stendila sopra tavolette, affinchè la possa scorrere bene chi la leggerà.
3 For the vision is for its appointed time, it hastens towards its end and it wil not lie; although it may takesome time, wait for it, for come it certainly will before too long.	3 Perchè la visione è lungi ed apparirà alla fine e non mentirà; se indugia aspettala, che certamente verrà e non differirà.
4 'You see, anyone whose heart is not upright wil succumb, but the upright wil live through faithfulness.'	4 Ecco chi è incredulo non ha in se stesso anima retta, e il giusto nella sua fede vivrà.
5 Now, surely, wealth is treacherous! He is arrogant, for ever on the move, with appetite as large asSheol and as insatiable as Death, gathering in al the nations, and making a harvest of al peoples.	5 Or, come il vino tradisce l'uomo, così fa l'orgoglio coll'uomo superbo, e non conserverà la sua dignità costui che allargò le sue brame come le fauci degli Inferi, ed è, come la morte, insaziabile; riunir vorrebbe sotto di sè tutte le genti e tutti insieme ammassare i popoli!
6 Are not the peoples al bound to satirise and make up cryptic riddles about him? As for instance:Disaster to anyone who amasses goods not his (for how long?) and to anyone who weighs himself down withgoods taken in pledge!	6 Ma tutti costoro non lo metteranno essi in proverbio, con un linguaggio da beffa? E si dirà: ''Guai a chi accumula roba non sua!''. E fino a quando durerà a caricarsi addosso denso fango?
7 Wil not your creditors suddenly stand up, wil not those who make you shiver wake up, and you wil fala prey to them?	7 E non sorgeranno improvvisamente coloro che ti mordono, e non si leveranno coloro che ti faranno a brani, e ti faranno loro preda?
8 Since you have plundered many nations, al the nations that remain wil plunder you, because of thebloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to all who live in it.	8 Perchè tu hai spogliato molte genti, spoglieranno te quanti saranno rimasti di quei popoli; a cagione del sangue umano sparso e della crudeltà usata alla terra, alla città e a tutti i suoi abitanti.
9 Disaster to anyone who amasses ill-gotten gains for his house, so as to fix his nest on high and soevade the reach of misfortune!	9 Guai a colui che raduna in casa sua rapina di malacquisto, per collocare in alto il suo nido, credendo di sfuggire agli artigli del male!
10 You have conspired to bring shame on your house: by overthrowing many peoples you have workedyour own ruin.	10 Tu hai determinato la confusione della tua casa, hai distrutto tanti popoli e l'anima tua ha peccato;
11 For the very stone will protest from the wal , and the beam wil respond from the framework.	11 perchè dalle muraglie la pietra griderà e il legname dalle travature risponderà.
12 Disaster to anyone who builds a town with bloodshed and founds a city on wrong-doing!	12 Guai a chi edifica la città col sangue e allestisce la borgata coll'iniquità!
13 Is it not thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth that the peoples' toil is fuel for the fire, and the nations' labourcame to nothing?	13 Ma non sono forse dal Signore degli eserciti queste cose? I popoli si affanneranno per dare pasto abbondante al fuoco e le nazioni per un niente, e si stancheranno;
14 But the earth wil be full of the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh as the waters cover the depths of thesea.	14 perchè la terra sarà piena di ciò che farà conoscere loro la gloria del Signore, come le acque che ricoprono il fondo del mare.
15 Disaster to anyone who makes his neighbours drink, pouring out his poison until they are drunk, sothat he can see them naked!	15 Guai a colui che dà da bere al suo amico mescendogli il suo fiele e ubriacandolo, affine di godere lo spettacolo della sua nudità!
16 You are ful of shame, not glory! Your turn now to drink and show your foreskin. The cup in Yahweh'sright hand comes round to you, and disgrace wil overshadow your glory.	16 E tu hai goduto a satollarti d'ignominia invece che di gloria; bevi dunque anche tu e rimani assopito; verrà il turno del calice della destra del Signore anche sopra di te e il vomito stomachevole sulla tua gloria.
17 For the violence done to the Lebanon wil overwhelm you and the massacre of animals will terrify you,because of the bloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to al who live in it. Disaster toanyone who says to the log, 'Wake up!', to the dumb stone, 'On your feet!' (This is the prophecy!) Look, he isencased in gold and silver, -but not a breath of life inside it!	17 Perchè la violenza esercitata contro il Libano ti coinvolgerà, e la strage degli animali li spaventerà, a causa del sangue umano sparso e delle iniquità esercitate contro la terra e la città e contro tutti i suoi abitanti.
18 What use is a sculpted image that a sculptor should make it? - a metal image, a lying instructor! Andwhy does the image-maker put his trust in it, that he should make dumb idols?	18 A che può giovare una statua che modellata dal suo artefice è stata fusa, un'immagine bugiarda? Il modellatore pone le sue speranze in quella stessa modellatura, in quegli idoli muti che sta facendo!
19	19 Guai a colui che dice al legno: Svegliati! e a un muto sasso: Riscuotiti!; potrà fare da insegnante esso? Ecco, è coperto di oro e d'argento, ma spirito nel suo interno non ce n'è affatto. -
20 But Yahweh is in his holy Temple: let the whole earth be silent before him.	20 Il Signore invece è nel suo tempio santo: dinanzi a lui taccia tutta la terra».
