Habakkuk 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 I shal stand at my post, I shall station myself on my watch-tower, watching to see what he wil say tome, what answer he wil make to my complaints.	1 Me pondré en mi puesto de guardia y me apostaré sobre el muro; vigilaré para ver qué me dice el Señor, y qué responde a mi reproche.
2 Then Yahweh answered me and said, 'Write the vision down, inscribe it on tablets to be easily read.	2 El Señor me respondió y dijo: Escribe la visión, grábala sobre unas tablas para que se la pueda leer de corrido.
3 For the vision is for its appointed time, it hastens towards its end and it wil not lie; although it may takesome time, wait for it, for come it certainly will before too long.	3 Porque la visión aguarda el momento fijado, ansía llegar a término y no fallará; si parece que se demora, espérala, porque vendrá seguramente, y no tardará.
4 'You see, anyone whose heart is not upright wil succumb, but the upright wil live through faithfulness.'	4 El que no tiene el alma recta, sucumbirá, pero el justo vivirá por su fidelidad.
5 Now, surely, wealth is treacherous! He is arrogant, for ever on the move, with appetite as large asSheol and as insatiable as Death, gathering in al the nations, and making a harvest of al peoples.	5 ¡Ciertamente, la riqueza es traidora, y el hombre presuntuoso no subsistirá, el que dilata su garganta como el Abismo y es insaciable como la Muerte, el que reúne para sí a todas las naciones y acapara para él a todos los pueblos!
6 Are not the peoples al bound to satirise and make up cryptic riddles about him? As for instance:Disaster to anyone who amasses goods not his (for how long?) and to anyone who weighs himself down withgoods taken in pledge!	6 ¿No entonarán todos estos contra él sátiras, sarcasmos y enigmas? Ellos dirán: ¡Ay del que acumula lo que no le pertenece –¿hasta cuándo?– y se carga de objeto prendados!
7 Wil not your creditors suddenly stand up, wil not those who make you shiver wake up, and you wil fala prey to them?	7 ¿No se levantarán de repente tus acreedores, y no se despertarán tus expoliadores? ¡Tú serás una buena presa para ellos!
8 Since you have plundered many nations, al the nations that remain wil plunder you, because of thebloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to all who live in it.	8 Por haber despojado a numerosas naciones, lo que resta de esos pueblos te despojará a ti, a causa de la sangre humana derramada y de la violencia contra el país, contra la ciudad y todos sus habitantes.
9 Disaster to anyone who amasses ill-gotten gains for his house, so as to fix his nest on high and soevade the reach of misfortune!	9 ¡Ay del que acumula para su casa ganancias deshonestas, a fin de establecer en lo alto su nido y escapar a los golpes de la desgracia!
10 You have conspired to bring shame on your house: by overthrowing many peoples you have workedyour own ruin.	10 Hiciste un proyecto vergonzoso para tu casa: al diezmar a numerosos pueblos, atentas contra tu propia vida.
11 For the very stone will protest from the wal , and the beam wil respond from the framework.	11 Porque la piedra gritará desde el muro y desde el armazón le responderá la viga.
12 Disaster to anyone who builds a town with bloodshed and founds a city on wrong-doing!	12 ¡Ay del que edifica una ciudad con sangre y la funda sobre la injusticia!
13 Is it not thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth that the peoples' toil is fuel for the fire, and the nations' labourcame to nothing?	13 ¿No proviene del Señor de los ejércitos que sólo para el fuego se fatiguen los pueblos y las naciones se extenúen por nada?
14 But the earth wil be full of the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh as the waters cover the depths of thesea.	14 Porque la tierra se llenará del conocimiento de la gloria del Señor, como las aguas cubren el mar.
15 Disaster to anyone who makes his neighbours drink, pouring out his poison until they are drunk, sothat he can see them naked!	15 ¡Ay del que hace beber a su prójimo! ¡Tú derramas tu veneno hasta embriagarlo, para contemplar su desnudez!
16 You are ful of shame, not glory! Your turn now to drink and show your foreskin. The cup in Yahweh'sright hand comes round to you, and disgrace wil overshadow your glory.	16 Te has saciado de ignominia, no de gloria; ¡bebe tú también y muestra tu prepucio! El cáliz de la mano del Señor se volverá sobre ti, y tu gloria se convertirá en ignominia.
17 For the violence done to the Lebanon wil overwhelm you and the massacre of animals will terrify you,because of the bloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to al who live in it. Disaster toanyone who says to the log, 'Wake up!', to the dumb stone, 'On your feet!' (This is the prophecy!) Look, he isencased in gold and silver, -but not a breath of life inside it!	17 Porque la violencia hecha al Líbano te cubrirá y la matanza de los animales te aterrará, a causa de la sangre humana derramada y de la violencia contra el país, contra la ciudad y todos sus habitantes.
18 What use is a sculpted image that a sculptor should make it? - a metal image, a lying instructor! Andwhy does the image-maker put his trust in it, that he should make dumb idols?	18 ¿De qué sirve una imagen esculpida, para que el artista la talle, o una imagen de metal fundido, un oráculo falso, para que el artista ponga su confianza en ella, fabricando ídolos mudos?
19	19 ¡Ay del que dice al madero: «Despierta», y a la piedra muda: «Levántate»! ¿Puede eso pronunciar un oráculo? ¡Sin duda, está recubierto de oro y plata, pero no hay soplo de vida en su interior!
20 But Yahweh is in his holy Temple: let the whole earth be silent before him.	20 El Señor reside en su santo Templo, ¡guarde silencio toda la tierra delante de él!
