NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 I shal stand at my post, I shall station myself on my watch-tower, watching to see what he wil say tome, what answer he wil make to my complaints.	1 Je veux rester à mon poste de garde, debout sur le rempart, en éveil; je verrai ce que me dit Yahvé, ce qu’il répondra à mes reproches.
2 Then Yahweh answered me and said, 'Write the vision down, inscribe it on tablets to be easily read.	2 Alors Yahvé m’a répondu, il m’a dit: “Écris cette vision, grave-la sur des tablettes, qu’elle se lise facilement.
3 For the vision is for its appointed time, it hastens towards its end and it wil not lie; although it may takesome time, wait for it, for come it certainly will before too long.	3 Cette vision attend son heure, elle arrivera à son terme et ne décevra pas. Si elle tarde, attends-la, car elle viendra sûrement et ne prendra pas de retard.
4 'You see, anyone whose heart is not upright wil succumb, but the upright wil live through faithfulness.'	4 Voici: Celui qui vacille n’aura jamais ma faveur, mais le juste par sa fidélité vivra.
5 Now, surely, wealth is treacherous! He is arrogant, for ever on the move, with appetite as large asSheol and as insatiable as Death, gathering in al the nations, and making a harvest of al peoples.	5 En vérité, la richesse est trompeuse; l’homme est un insensé, il ne gagne rien s’il a son appétit vaste comme le gouffre, s’il devient insatiable autant que la mort, s’il engloutit toutes les nations et ramasse chez lui tous les peuples.
6 Are not the peoples al bound to satirise and make up cryptic riddles about him? As for instance:Disaster to anyone who amasses goods not his (for how long?) and to anyone who weighs himself down withgoods taken in pledge!	6 Un jour on le donnera en exemple et tous se moqueront de lui. On lui chantera cette chanson: “Malheur à celui qui amasse ce qui n’est pas à lui: il ne cesse d’accumuler les dettes.
7 Wil not your creditors suddenly stand up, wil not those who make you shiver wake up, and you wil fala prey to them?	7 Soudain apparaîtront tes créanciers, certains vont s’éveiller qui te prendront tout.
8 Since you have plundered many nations, al the nations that remain wil plunder you, because of thebloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to all who live in it.	8 Toi qui as dépouillé beaucoup de nations, tu seras dépouillé par ce qui reste de peuples. Car tu as versé du sang humain, tu as fait violence à la terre, à la cité, à tous ses habitants.
9 Disaster to anyone who amasses ill-gotten gains for his house, so as to fix his nest on high and soevade the reach of misfortune!	9 Malheur à qui gagne pour les siens des biens mal acquis, pour placer bien haut son repaire, espérant ainsi échapper au malheur:
10 You have conspired to bring shame on your house: by overthrowing many peoples you have workedyour own ruin.	10 c’est la honte que tu as amenée sur ta maison. Quand tu détruisais tant de peuples, tu attentais à ta propre vie.
11 For the very stone will protest from the wal , and the beam wil respond from the framework.	11 Oui, la pierre crie dans ton mur, et de ta charpente le bois lui répond.
12 Disaster to anyone who builds a town with bloodshed and founds a city on wrong-doing!	12 Malheur à celui qui bâtit une ville avec le sang, qui fonde une cité sur l’injustice.
13 Is it not thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth that the peoples' toil is fuel for the fire, and the nations' labourcame to nothing?	13 Yahvé Sabaot l’a voulu ainsi: que les peuples se fatiguent pour de la fumée, que les nations s’épuisent pour du rien.
14 But the earth wil be full of the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh as the waters cover the depths of thesea.	14 NO TEXT
15 Disaster to anyone who makes his neighbours drink, pouring out his poison until they are drunk, sothat he can see them naked!	15 Malheur à qui fait boire à ses voisins le poison, jusqu’à l’enivrer, pour s’amuser ensuite de sa nudité.
16 You are ful of shame, not glory! Your turn now to drink and show your foreskin. The cup in Yahweh'sright hand comes round to you, and disgrace wil overshadow your glory.	16 Tu seras rassasié maintenant, de honte et non de gloire; bois donc à ton tour et sois pris d’ivresse! La main de Yahvé retournera sur toi la coupe, et la honte couvrira ta gloire.
17 For the violence done to the Lebanon wil overwhelm you and the massacre of animals will terrify you,because of the bloodshed and violence done to the country, to the city and to al who live in it. Disaster toanyone who says to the log, 'Wake up!', to the dumb stone, 'On your feet!' (This is the prophecy!) Look, he isencased in gold and silver, -but not a breath of life inside it!	17 Oui, la violence que tu as faite au Liban avec ses bêtes massacrées retombera sur toi et tu connaîtras la terreur, à cause du sang des hommes et de la violence que tu as faite à la terre, à la cité et à tous ceux qui l’habitent.
18 What use is a sculpted image that a sculptor should make it? - a metal image, a lying instructor! Andwhy does the image-maker put his trust in it, that he should make dumb idols?	18 2:19 Malheur à celui qui dit à un morceau de bois: “Éveille-toi”, et à la pierre silencieuse: “Réveille-toi”. Elle est plaquée d’or et d’argent mais elle n’aura pas de souffle.
19	19 2:18 À quoi sert une idole, pour qu’on en fabrique ainsi? Image de métal fondu, objet menteur. Comment celui qui la fabrique peut-il mettre en elle sa confiance? Ce ne sont que des idoles muettes.
20 But Yahweh is in his holy Temple: let the whole earth be silent before him.	20 Mais Yahvé habite dans son Temple saint: terre entière, fais silence devant lui!
