Micah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Now listen to what Yahweh says: 'Stand up, state your case to the mountains and let the hills hear whatyou have to say!'	1 Ecoutez donc ce que dit Yahvé: "Debout! Entre en procès devant les montagnes et que les collinesentendent ta voix!"
2 Listen, mountains, to the case as Yahweh puts it, give ear, you foundations of the earth, for Yahweh hasa case against his people and he wil argue it with Israel.	2 Ecoutez, montagnes, le procès de Yahvé, prêtez l'oreille, fondements de la terre, car Yahvé est enprocès avec son peuple, il plaide contre Israël:
3 'My people, what have I done to you, how have I made you tired of me? Answer me!	3 "Mon peuple, que t'ai-je fait? En quoi t'ai-je fatigué? Réponds-moi.
4 For I brought you up from Egypt, I ransomed you from the place of slave-labour and sent Moses, Aaronand Miriam to lead you.	4 Car je t'ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte, je t'ai racheté de la maison de servitude; j'ai envoyé devanttoi Moïse, Aaron et Miryam.
5 My people, please remember: what was Balak king of Moab's plan and how did Balaam son of Beoranswer him? . . . from Shittim to Gilgal, for you to know Yahweh's saving justice.	5 Mon peuple, souviens-toi donc: quel était le projet de Balaq, roi de Moab? Que lui répondit Balaam,fils de Béor? De Shittim à Gilgal, pour que tu connaisses les justes oeuvres de Yahvé" --
6 'With what shal I enter Yahweh's presence and bow down before God All-high? Shall I enter with burntofferings, with calves one year old?	6 "Avec quoi me présenterai-je devant Yahvé, me prosternerai-je devant le Dieu de là-haut? Meprésenterai-je avec des holocaustes, avec des veaux d'un an?
7 Wil he be pleased with rams by the thousand, with ten thousand streams of oil? Shal I offer my eldestson for my wrong-doing, the child of my own body for my sin?	7 Prendra-t-il plaisir à des milliers de béliers, à des libations d'huile par torrents? Faudra-t-il quej'offre mon aîné pour prix de mon crime, le fruit de mes entrailles pour mon propre péché" --
8 'You have already been told what is right and what Yahweh wants of you. Only this, to do what is right,to love loyalty and to walk humbly with your God.'	8 "On t'a fait savoir, homme, ce qui est bien, ce que Yahvé réclame de toi: rien d'autre que d'accomplirla justice, d'aimer la bonté et de marcher humblement avec ton Dieu."
9 Yahweh's voice! He thunders to the city, 'Listen, tribe of assembled citizens!	9 C'est la voix de Yahvé! Il crie à la cité: Ecoutez, tribu et assemblée de la cité!
10 Can I overlook the false measure, that abomination, the short bushel?	10 Puis-je supporter une mesure fausse et un boisseau diminué, abominable?
11 Can I connive at rigged scales and at the bag of fraudulent weights?	11 Puis-je tenir pour pur qui se sert de balances fausses, d'une bourse de poids truqués?
12 For the rich there are steeped in violence, and the citizens there are habitual liars.	12 Elle dont les riches sont pleins de violence et dont les habitants profèrent le mensonge!
13 'I myself have therefore begun to strike you down, to bring you to ruin for your sins.	13 Aussi, moi-même, j'ai commencé à te frapper, à te dévaster pour tes péchés.
14 You wil eat but not be satisfied; you wil store up but never keep safe; what you do keep safe I shalhand over to the sword;	14 Tu mangeras, mais tu ne pourras te rassasier; tu mettras de côté, mais tu ne pourras rien garder; etsi tu peux garder quelque chose, je le livrerai à l'épée.
15 you wil sow but wil not reap, press the olive but wil not rub yourself with oil, tread the grape but wilnot drink the wine.	15 Tu sèmeras, mais tu ne pourras faire la moisson; tu presseras l'olive mais tu ne pourras t'oindred'huile, le moût, mais tu ne pourras boire de vin.
16 'For you keep the laws of Omri; what the House of Ahab did, you have done; by model ing yourselveson their standards, you force me to make an appal ing example of you and reduce your citizens to a laughing-stock; hence you wil endure the scorn of other peoples.'	16 Tu observes les lois d'Omri, toutes les pratiques de la maison d'Achab; tu te conduis selon leursprincipes, pour que je fasse de toi un objet de stupeur, de tes habitants une dérision, et que vous portiezl'opprobre des peuples.
