Micah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now listen to what Yahweh says: 'Stand up, state your case to the mountains and let the hills hear whatyou have to say!'	1 Escuchen lo que dice el Señor: ¡Levántate, convoca a juicio a las montañas y que las colinas escuchen tu voz!
2 Listen, mountains, to the case as Yahweh puts it, give ear, you foundations of the earth, for Yahweh hasa case against his people and he wil argue it with Israel.	2 ¡Escuchen, montañas, el pleito del Señor, atiendan, fundamentos de la tierra! Porque el Señor tiene un pleito con su pueblo, entabla un proceso contra Israel;
3 'My people, what have I done to you, how have I made you tired of me? Answer me!	3 «¿Qué te hice, pueblo mío, o en qué te molesté? Respóndeme.
4 For I brought you up from Egypt, I ransomed you from the place of slave-labour and sent Moses, Aaronand Miriam to lead you.	4 ¿Será porque te hice subir de Egipto, porque te rescaté de un lugar de esclavitud y envié delante de ti a Moisés, Aarón y Miriam?
5 My people, please remember: what was Balak king of Moab's plan and how did Balaam son of Beoranswer him? . . . from Shittim to Gilgal, for you to know Yahweh's saving justice.	5 Recuerda, pueblo mío, lo que tramaba Balac, rey de Moab, y qué le respondió Balaam, hijo de Beor. Recuerda el trayecto desde Sitím hasta Guilgal, y así reconocerás los actos justicieros del Señor».
6 'With what shal I enter Yahweh's presence and bow down before God All-high? Shall I enter with burntofferings, with calves one year old?	6 ¿Con qué me presentaré al Señor y me postraré ante el Dios de las alturas? ¿Me presentaré a él con holocaustos, con terneros de un año?
7 Wil he be pleased with rams by the thousand, with ten thousand streams of oil? Shal I offer my eldestson for my wrong-doing, the child of my own body for my sin?	7 ¿Aceptará el Señor miles de carneros, millares de torrentes de aceite? ¿Ofreceré a mi primogénito por mi rebeldía, al fruto de mis entrañas por mi propio pecado?
8 'You have already been told what is right and what Yahweh wants of you. Only this, to do what is right,to love loyalty and to walk humbly with your God.'	8 Se te ha indicado, hombre, qué es lo bueno y qué exige de ti el Señor: nada más que practicar la justicia, amar la fidelidad y caminar humildemente con tu Dios.
9 Yahweh's voice! He thunders to the city, 'Listen, tribe of assembled citizens!	9 La voz del Señor llama a la ciudad. –¡Es prudente temer tu Nombre!–. ¡Oigan, tribu de Judá y asamblea de la ciudad!
10 Can I overlook the false measure, that abomination, the short bushel?	10 ¿Tendré que tolerar todavía en la casa del impío los tesoros mal adquiridos y la execrable medida rebajada?
11 Can I connive at rigged scales and at the bag of fraudulent weights?	11 ¿Puedo tener por justas las balanzas falsas o la bolsa de pesas fraudulentas?
12 For the rich there are steeped in violence, and the citizens there are habitual liars.	12 ¡Sus ricos están llenos de violencia, sus habitantes hablan falsamente y la lengua es pura mentira en su boca!
13 'I myself have therefore begun to strike you down, to bring you to ruin for your sins.	13 Por eso, yo comencé a golpearte y a devastarte por tus pecados.
14 You wil eat but not be satisfied; you wil store up but never keep safe; what you do keep safe I shalhand over to the sword;	14 Tú comerás, pero no te saciarás, y el hambre te devorará por dentro; ahorrarás, pero no conservarás, y lo que conserves, yo lo entregaré a la espada.
15 you wil sow but wil not reap, press the olive but wil not rub yourself with oil, tread the grape but wilnot drink the wine.	15 Sembrarás, pero no cosecharás; pisarás la aceituna, pero no te ungirás con aceite, tendrás mosto, pero no beberás el vino.
16 'For you keep the laws of Omri; what the House of Ahab did, you have done; by model ing yourselveson their standards, you force me to make an appal ing example of you and reduce your citizens to a laughing-stock; hence you wil endure the scorn of other peoples.'	16 Tú observas los decretos de Omrí y todas las prácticas de la casa de Ajab; procedes según sus consejos, para que yo te entregue a la desolación, y a tus habitantes a la burla. ¡Ustedes soportarán el oprobio de los pueblos!
