1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 - Il Signore parlò a Mosè, e gli disse:
2 'Speak to Aaron and say, "When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps must throw their light towardsthe front of the lamp-stand." '	2 «Parla ad Aronne e digli: - Quando metterai a posto le sette lampade, il candelabro stia sul lato meridionale [del tabernacolo]. - Comanda dunque che le lampade guardino a settentrione, di contro alla mensa de' pani della proposizione, perchè debbon mandare la luce verso quella parte che è di faccia al candelabro».
3 Aaron did this. He set up the lamps to the front of the lamp-stand, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	3 Così fece Aronne, e mise le lampade sul candelabro, come il Signore aveva comandato a Mosè.
4 This lamp-stand was worked in beaten gold, including its stem and its petals, which were also ofbeaten gold. This lamp-stand had been made according to the pattern Yahweh had shown to Moses.	4 Ora il candelabro era fatto così: era d'oro battuto, tanto il fusto centrale quanto i rami che nascevano dalle due parti. Mosè l'aveva fatto lavorare secondo il modello datogli dal Signore.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	5 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè, e gli disse:
6 'Separate the Levites from the Israelites and purify them.	6 «Prendi i leviti di mezzo a' figliuoli d'Israele, e purificali
7 This is how you must purify them: you wil sprinkle them with purifying water, and they wil shave theirbodies al over and wash their clothes. They will then be clean.	7 con questo rito: Siano aspersi con l'acqua dell'espiazione, e si radano tutti i peli del corpo. E dopo essersi lavate le vesti, ed essersi purificati,
8 They wil then take a young bul , with the accompanying cereal offering of fine flour mixed with oil, andyou wil take a second young bull for a sacrifice for sin.	8 prenderanno un bove di mandra, con la sua offerta di fior di farina intrisa d'olio. Tu poi prenderai per il peccato un altro bove della mandra,
9 You wil then bring the Levites in front of the Tent of Meeting, and assemble the whole community ofIsraelites.	9 e radunata tutta l'assemblea de' figli d'Israele, farai venire i leviti davanti al tabernacolo dell'alleanza.
10 Once you have brought the Levites before Yahweh, the Israelites wil lay their hands on them.	10 Quando i leviti saranno dinanzi al Signore, i figli d'Israele stenderanno su loro le mani,
11 Aaron wil then offer the Levites, making the gesture of offering before Yahweh on behalf of theIsraelites, admitting them to Yahweh's service.	11 ed Aronne offrirà nel cospetto del Signore i leviti presi tra' figli d'Israele acciò gli servano nel suo ministero.
12 'The Levites will then lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, one of which you wil offer as asacrifice for sin, and the other as a burnt offering to Yahweh, to perform the rite of expiation for the Levites.	12 Di poi i leviti porranno le mani sul capo de' due bovi, de' quali uno ne sacrificherai per il peccato e l'altro in olocausto al Signore, supplicando pei leviti.
13 Having brought the Levites before Aaron and his sons, you wil present them to Yahweh with thegesture of offering.	13 Questi, li metterai al cospetto di Aronne e de' suoi figli, ed offertili al Signore li consacrerai
14 That is how you wil set the Levites apart from the Israelites, for them to be mine.	14 e separerai di tra i figli d'Israele, acciò siano miei;
15 The Levites wil then begin their ministry in the Tent of Meeting. 'You wil purify them and offer themwith the gesture of offering	15 dopo ciò, entreranno nel tabernacolo dell'alleanza, al mio servizio. Così dunque li purificherai e li consacrerai come offerta al Signore perchè mi son stati dati in dono da' figli d'Israele.
16 because, of the Israelites, they have been dedicated to me in place of al those who first emerge fromthe womb, instead of the first-born; of al the Israelites, I have taken them for my own.	16 Io li ho presi in cambio de' primogeniti che aprono il seno materno in Israele.
17 For al the first-born of the Israelites, whether human or animal, do indeed belong to me: the day Istruck down al the first-born in Egypt, I consecrated them to myself,	17 Perchè miei sono tutt'i primogeniti de' figli d'Israele, tanto degli uomini quanto degli animali. Dal giorno nel quale percossi in Egitto tutt'i primogeniti, io me li riserbai;
18 and now, in place of al the first-born of the Israelites, I have taken the Levites.	18 ho presi i leviti in luogo di tutt'i primogeniti de' figli d'Israele,
19 Of the Israelites, I give the Levites to Aaron and his sons, as dedicated men, to minister in the Tent ofMeeting on behalf of the Israelites and perform the rite of expiation for them, so that no disaster befal s theIsraelites when the Israelites come close to the sanctuary.'	19 e di fra il popolo li ho dati in dono ad Aronne ed a' figli suoi, acciò servano a me nel tabernacolo dell'alleanza a nome di Israele, ed intercedano per il popolo, perchè non venga piaga su di esso, [come avverrebbe] qualora osasse accostarsi al santuario».
20 Moses, Aaron and the whole community of Israelites dealt with the Levites exactly as Yahweh hadordered Moses concerning them; this is what the Israelites did with them.	20 Mosè dunque ed Aronne, e tutta l'assemblea dei figli d'Israele, fecero coi leviti quello che il Signore aveva comandato a Mosè.
21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes, and Aaron presented them with thegesture of offering before Yahweh. He then performed the rite of expiation for them to purify them.	21 Si purificarono, si lavarono le vesti, ed Aronne li elevò dinanzi al Signore, e pregò per loro,
22 The Levites were then al owed to perform their ministry in the Tent of Meeting in the presence ofAaron and his sons. As Yahweh had ordered Moses concerning the Levites, so it was done with them.	22 acciò purificati andassero ai propri uffici nel tabernacolo dell'alleanza con Aronne e i suoi figli. Come il Signore aveva dato ordine a Mosè pei leviti, così fu fatto.
23 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	23 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
24 'This concerns the Levites. From the age of twenty-five onwards, the Levite will exercise his ministryand do duty in the Tent of Meeting.	24 «Quest'è la regola pei leviti: Da venticinque anni in su andranno al servizio del tabernacolo dell'alleanza.
25 After the age of fifty, he is no longer bound to the ministry; he wil have no further duties;	25 Quando avranno compiuto cinquant'anni, cesseranno dal servizio;
26 but he will stil help his brothers to assure the services in the Tent of Meeting, though he himself willno longer have any ministry. That is how you wil act as regards the ministry of the Levites.'	26 aiuteranno i loro fratelli nel tabernacolo dell'alleanza, ed avranno cura di quello che a loro verrà affidato, ma non faranno lavori propriamente detti. Così disporrai dei leviti nei loro incarichi».
