1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
2 'Speak to Aaron and say, "When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps must throw their light towardsthe front of the lamp-stand." '	2 «Parla ad Aronne dicendogli: “Quando collocherai le lampade, le sette lampade dovranno far luce verso la parte anteriore del candelabro”».
3 Aaron did this. He set up the lamps to the front of the lamp-stand, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	3 Aronne fece così: collocò le lampade in modo che facessero luce verso la parte anteriore del candelabro, come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
4 This lamp-stand was worked in beaten gold, including its stem and its petals, which were also ofbeaten gold. This lamp-stand had been made according to the pattern Yahweh had shown to Moses.	4 E questa era la struttura del candelabro: era d’oro lavorato a martello, dal suo fusto alle sue corolle era un solo lavoro a martello. Mosè aveva fatto il candelabro secondo la visione che il Signore gli aveva mostrato.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	5 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
6 'Separate the Levites from the Israelites and purify them.	6 «Prendi i leviti tra gli Israeliti e purificali.
7 This is how you must purify them: you wil sprinkle them with purifying water, and they wil shave theirbodies al over and wash their clothes. They will then be clean.	7 Per purificarli farai così: li aspergerai con l’acqua lustrale; faranno passare il rasoio su tutto il loro corpo, laveranno le loro vesti e si purificheranno.
8 They wil then take a young bul , with the accompanying cereal offering of fine flour mixed with oil, andyou wil take a second young bull for a sacrifice for sin.	8 Poi prenderanno un giovenco e la sua oblazione di fior di farina impastata con olio, e tu prenderai un secondo giovenco per il sacrificio per il peccato.
9 You wil then bring the Levites in front of the Tent of Meeting, and assemble the whole community ofIsraelites.	9 Farai avvicinare i leviti dinanzi alla tenda del convegno e convocherai tutta la comunità degli Israeliti.
10 Once you have brought the Levites before Yahweh, the Israelites wil lay their hands on them.	10 Farai avvicinare i leviti davanti al Signore e gli Israeliti porranno le mani sui leviti;
11 Aaron wil then offer the Levites, making the gesture of offering before Yahweh on behalf of theIsraelites, admitting them to Yahweh's service.	11 Aronne presenterà i leviti con il rito di elevazione davanti al Signore da parte degli Israeliti, ed essi svolgeranno il servizio del Signore.
12 'The Levites will then lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, one of which you wil offer as asacrifice for sin, and the other as a burnt offering to Yahweh, to perform the rite of expiation for the Levites.	12 Poi i leviti porranno le mani sulla testa dei giovenchi, e tu ne offrirai uno in sacrificio per il peccato e l’altro in olocausto al Signore, per compiere il rito espiatorio per i leviti.
13 Having brought the Levites before Aaron and his sons, you wil present them to Yahweh with thegesture of offering.	13 Farai stare i leviti davanti ad Aronne e davanti ai suoi figli e li presenterai con il rito di elevazione in onore del Signore.
14 That is how you wil set the Levites apart from the Israelites, for them to be mine.	14 Così separerai i leviti dagli Israeliti e i leviti saranno miei.
15 The Levites wil then begin their ministry in the Tent of Meeting. 'You wil purify them and offer themwith the gesture of offering	15 Dopo di che, quando li avrai purificati e presentati con il rito di elevazione, i leviti entreranno in servizio nella tenda del convegno.
16 because, of the Israelites, they have been dedicated to me in place of al those who first emerge fromthe womb, instead of the first-born; of al the Israelites, I have taken them for my own.	16 Essi infatti sono doni dati a me tra gli Israeliti, io li ho presi per me al posto di quanti nascono per primi dalla madre, al posto di ogni primogenito di tutti gli Israeliti.
17 For al the first-born of the Israelites, whether human or animal, do indeed belong to me: the day Istruck down al the first-born in Egypt, I consecrated them to myself,	17 Poiché mio è ogni primogenito fra gli Israeliti, sia degli uomini sia del bestiame: io me li sono consacrati il giorno in cui percossi tutti i primogeniti in terra d’Egitto.
18 and now, in place of al the first-born of the Israelites, I have taken the Levites.	18 Ho scelto i leviti al posto di ogni primogenito fra gli Israeliti.
19 Of the Israelites, I give the Levites to Aaron and his sons, as dedicated men, to minister in the Tent ofMeeting on behalf of the Israelites and perform the rite of expiation for them, so that no disaster befal s theIsraelites when the Israelites come close to the sanctuary.'	19 Ho dato i leviti in dono ad Aronne e ai suoi figli tra gli Israeliti, perché svolgano il servizio degli Israeliti nella tenda del convegno e perché compiano il rito espiatorio per gli Israeliti, e non vi sia flagello per gli Israeliti, quando gli Israeliti si accosteranno al santuario».
20 Moses, Aaron and the whole community of Israelites dealt with the Levites exactly as Yahweh hadordered Moses concerning them; this is what the Israelites did with them.	20 Così fecero Mosè, Aronne e tutta la comunità degli Israeliti per i leviti; gli Israeliti fecero per i leviti quanto il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè a loro riguardo.
21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes, and Aaron presented them with thegesture of offering before Yahweh. He then performed the rite of expiation for them to purify them.	21 I leviti si purificarono e lavarono le loro vesti. Aronne li presentò con il rito di elevazione davanti al Signore e compì il rito espiatorio per loro, per purificarli.
22 The Levites were then al owed to perform their ministry in the Tent of Meeting in the presence ofAaron and his sons. As Yahweh had ordered Moses concerning the Levites, so it was done with them.	22 Dopo questo, i leviti entrarono in servizio nella tenda del convegno, alla presenza di Aronne e dei suoi figli. Come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè riguardo ai leviti, così fecero per loro.
23 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	23 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
24 'This concerns the Levites. From the age of twenty-five onwards, the Levite will exercise his ministryand do duty in the Tent of Meeting.	24 «Questo riguarda i leviti: da venticinque anni in su il levita entrerà a far parte della schiera al servizio della tenda del convegno,
25 After the age of fifty, he is no longer bound to the ministry; he wil have no further duties;	25 e a cinquant’anni si ritirerà dalla schiera del suo servizio: non presterà più servizio.
26 but he will stil help his brothers to assure the services in the Tent of Meeting, though he himself willno longer have any ministry. That is how you wil act as regards the ministry of the Levites.'	26 Assisterà i suoi fratelli nella tenda del convegno, sorvegliando ciò che è affidato alla loro custodia, ma non presterà servizio. Così farai per i leviti, per quel che riguarda il loro incarico».
