NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Blow the ram's-horn in Zion, sound the alarm on my holy mountain! Let everybody in the countrytremble, for the Day of Yahweh is coming, yes, it is near.	1 ¡Toquen la trompeta en Sión, hagan sonar la alarma en mi Montaña santa! ¡Tiemblen todos los habitantes del país, porque llega el Día del Señor, porque está cerca!
2 Day of darkness and gloom, Day of cloud and blackness. Like the dawn, across the mountains spreadsa vast and mighty people, such as has never been before, such as wil never be again to the remotest ages.	2 ¡Día de tinieblas y oscuridad, día nublado y de sombríos nubarrones! Como la aurora que se extiende sobre las montañas, avanza un pueblo numeroso y fuerte como no los hubo jamás, ni lo habrá después de él, hasta en las generaciones más lejanas.
3 In their van a fire devours, in their rear a flame consumes. The country is like a garden of Eden ahead ofthem and a desert waste behind them. Nothing escapes them.	3 Delante de él, el fuego devora, detrás de él, la llama consume. El país es como un jardín de Edén delante de él, detrás de él, un desierto desolado. ¡Nada se le escapa!
4 They look like horses, like chargers they gal op on,	4 Su aspecto es como el de los caballos, se abalanzan como corceles:
5 with a racket like that of chariots they spring over the mountain tops, with a crackling like a blazing firedevouring the stubble, a mighty army in battle array.	5 como un estrépito de carros de guerra que saltan sobre la cima de los montes; como el crepitar de la llama ardiente que devora la hojarasca; como un pueblo fuerte en orden de batalla.
6 At the sight of them, people are appal ed and every face grows pale.	6 Ante él, los pueblos se estremecen, se crispan todos los rostros.
7 Like fighting men they press forward, like warriors they scale the wal s, each marching straight ahead,not turning from his path;	7 Se abalanzan como valientes, como guerreros escalan las murallas. Cada uno avanza hacia adelante y no se entrecruzan sus caminos.
8 they never jostle each other, each marches straight ahead: arrows fly, they stil press forward, neverbreaking ranks.	8 No se atropellan entre sí, cada uno va por su línea; arremeten en medio de las flechas, sin romper la formación.
9 They hurl themselves at the city, they leap onto the wal s, swarm up the houses, getting in through thewindows like thieves.	9 Se precipitan sobre la ciudad, se abalanzan sobre las murallas, suben a las casas, entran por las ventanas como el ladrón.
10 As they come on, the earth quakes, the skies tremble, sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose theirbrilliance.	10 ¡Ante él, la tierra tiembla, los cielos se conmueven, el sol y la luna se ensombrecen, las estrellas pierden su brillo!
11 Yahweh's voice rings out at the head of his troops! For mighty indeed is his army, strong, the enforcerof his orders, for great is the Day of Yahweh, and very terrible -- who can face it?	11 El Señor hace oír su voz al frente de sus tropas: ¡qué numerosos son sus batallones, que poderoso el que ejecuta su palabra! Porque el Día del Señor es grande y terrible: ¿quién podrá soportarlo?
12 'But now -- declares Yahweh- come back to me with al your heart, fasting, weeping, mourning.'	12 Pero aún ahora –oráculo del Señor– vuelvan a mí de todo corazón, con ayuno, llantos y lamentos.
13 Tear your hearts and not your clothes, and come back to Yahweh your God, for he is gracious andcompassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and he relents about inflicting disaster.	13 Desgarren su corazón y no sus vestiduras, y vuelvan al Señor, su Dios, porque él es bondadoso y compasivo, lento para la ira y rico en fidelidad, y se arrepiente de tus amenazas.
14 Who knows if he wil not come back, relent and leave a blessing behind him, a cereal offering and alibation to be presented to Yahweh your God?	14 ¡Quién sabe si él no se volverá atrás y se arrepentirá, y dejará detrás de sí una bendición: la ofrenda y la libación para el Señor, su Dios!
15 Blow the ram's-horn in Zion! Order a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly,	15 ¡Toquen la trompeta en Sión, prescriban un ayuno, convoquen a una reunión solemne,
16 cal the people together, summon the community, assemble the elders, gather the children, eveninfants at the breast! Call the bridegroom from his bedroom and the bride from her bower!	16 reúnan al pueblo, convoquen a la asamblea, congreguen a los ancianos, reúnan a los pequeños y a los niños de pecho! ¡Que el recién casado salga de su alcoba y la recién casada de su lecho nupcial!
17 Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, stand weeping between portico and altar, saying, 'Spare yourpeople, Yahweh! Do not expose your heritage to the contempt, to the sarcasm of the nations! Why give thepeoples cause to say, "Where is their God?" '	17 Entre el vestíbulo y el altar lloren los sacerdotes, los ministros del Señor, y digan: «¡Perdona, Señor, a tu pueblo, no entregues tu herencia al oprobio, y que las naciones no se burlen de ella! ¿Por qué se ha de decir entre los pueblos: Dónde está su Dios?».
18 Then, becoming jealous over his country, Yahweh took pity on his people.	18 El Señor se llenó de celos por su tierra y se compadeció de su pueblo.
19 Yahweh said in answer to his people, 'Now I shal send you wheat, wine and olive oil until you haveenough. Never again wil I expose you to the contempt of the nations.	19 El Señor respondió y dijo a su pueblo: «Ahora, yo les envío el trigo, el vino nuevo y el aceite, y ustedes se saciarán con esto. Nunca más los entregaré al oprobio entre las naciones.
20 I shal take the northerner far away from you and drive him into an arid, desolate land, his vanguard tothe eastern sea, his rearguard to the western sea. He wil give off a stench, he wil give off a foul stink (for whathe made bold to do).'	20 Al que viene del Norte lo alejaré de ustedes, lo arrojaré a una tierra árida y desolada: su vanguardia, hacia el mar oriental, su retaguardia, hacia el mar occidental; y subirá su hedor, subirá su pestilencia». –¡Porque él ha hecho grandes cosas!–.
21 Land, do not be afraid; be glad, rejoice, for Yahweh has done great things.	21 ¡No temas, tierra, alégrate y regocíjate, porque el Señor ha hecho grandes cosas!
22 Wild animals, do not be afraid; the desert pastures are green again, the trees bear fruit, vine and figtree yield their richness.	22 ¡No teman, animales del campo! Los pastizales de la estepa han reverdecido, los árboles producen sus frutos, la higuera y la viña dan sus riquezas.
23 Sons of Zion, be glad, rejoice in Yahweh your God; for he has given you autumn rain as justicedemands, and he wil send the rains down for you, the autumn and spring rain as of old.	23 ¡Alégrense, habitantes de Sión, regocíjense en el Señor, su Dios! Porque él les ha dado la lluvia de otoño en su justa medida, e hizo caer sobre ustedes, como en otros tiempos, el aguacero de otoño y de primavera.
24 The threshing-floors wil be ful of grain, the vats overflow with wine and oil.	24 Las eras se llenarán de trigo, y los lagares desbordarán de vino nuevo y aceite fresco.
25 'I will make up to you for the years devoured by grown locust and hopper, by shearer and younglocust, my great army which I sent to invade you.	25 Yo los resarciré por los años en que lo devoraron todo la langosta y el pulgón, el roedor y la oruga, mi gran ejército que envié contra ustedes.
26 'You will eat to your heart's content, and praise the name of Yahweh your God who has treated you sowonderful y. (My people will never be humiliated again!)	26 Comerán abundantemente hasta saciarse, y alabarán el nombre del Señor, su Dios, que ha hecho maravillas con ustedes. ¡Mi pueblo jamás quedará confundido!
27 'And you will know that I am among you in Israel, I, Yahweh your God, and no one else. My people willnever be humiliated again!'	27 Así ustedes sabrán que yo estoy en medio de Israel, que yo soy el Señor, su Dios, y no hay otro. ¡Mi pueblo jamás quedará confundido!
