Hosea 1

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 The word of Yahweh which came to Hosea son of Beeri during the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz andHezekiah kings of Judah, and of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel.	1 Parole de Yahvé qui fut adressée à Osée, fils de Beéri, au temps d'Ozias, de Yotam, d'Achaz etd'Ezéchias, rois de Juda, et au temps de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d'Israël.
2 The beginning of what Yahweh said through Hosea: Yahweh said to Hosea, 'Go, marry a whore, andget children with a whore; for the country itself has become nothing but a whore by abandoning Yahweh.'	2 Commencement de ce que Yahvé a dit par Osée. Yahvé dit à Osée: "Va, prends une femme se livrant àla prostitution et des enfants de prostitution, car le pays ne fait que se prostituer en se détournant de Yahvé."
3 So he went and married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, who conceived and bore him a son.	3 Il alla donc prendre Gomer, fille de Diblayim, qui conçut et lui enfanta un fils.
4 Yahweh then said to him, 'Call him Jezreel, for in a little while I shal punish the House of Jehu for thebloodshed at Jezreel and put an end to the sovereignty of the House of Israel.	4 Yahvé lui dit: "Appelle-le du nom de Yizréel, car encore un peu de temps, et je châtierai la maison deJéhu pour le sang versé à Yizréel, et je mettrai fin à la royauté de la maison d'Israël.
5 When that day comes, I shal break the bow of Israel in the Val ey of Jezreel.'	5 Il adviendra, en ce jour-là, que je briserai l'arc d'Israël dans la vallée de Yizréel."
6 She conceived a second time and gave birth to a daughter. Yahweh then said to him, 'Cal her Lo-Ruhamah, for I shall show no more pity for the House of Israel, I shal never forgive them again.	6 Elle conçut encore et enfanta une fille. Yahvé lui dit: "Appelle-la du nom de Lo-Ruhamah, cardésormais je n'aurai plus pitié de la maison d'Israël pour lui pardonner encore.
7 (Instead, I shal take pity on the House of Judah and shal save them, not by bow or sword or force ofarms, not by horses or horsemen, but by Yahweh their God.)'	7 Mais de la maison de Juda j'aurai pitié et je les sauverai par Yahvé leur Dieu. Je ne les sauverai ni parl'arc, ni par l'épée, ni par la guerre, ni par les chevaux, ni par les cavaliers."
8 After weaning Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.	8 Elle sevra Lo-Ruhamah, conçut encore et enfanta un fils.
9 Yahweh said, 'Cal him Lo-Ammi, for you are not my people and I do not exist for you.'	9 Yahvé dit: "Appelle-le du nom de Lo-Ammi, car vous n'êtes pas mon peuple, et moi je n'existe paspour vous."
