NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 It was the first year of Darius son of Artaxerxes, a Mede by race who assumed the throne of Chaldaea.	1 - Era il primo anno di Dario, figlio di Assuero della stirpe dei Medi che regnò sopra l'impero dei Caldei.
2 In the first year of his reign I, Daniel, was studying the scriptures, counting over the number of years --as revealed by Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah -- that were to pass before the desolation of Jerusalem wouldcome to an end, namely seventy years.	2 Nel primo anno dunque del suo regno, io Daniele, mi posi a considerare nei libri il numero degli anni, di cui era stata fatta parola dal Signore a Geremia profeta, perchè avesse termine la desolazione di Gerusalemme, cioè i settanta anni.
3 I turned my face to the Lord God begging for time to pray and to plead, with fasting, sackcloth andashes.	3 E mi rivolsi al Signore Dio mio per pregarlo e supplicarlo nei digiuni, nel cilicio e nella cenere.
4 I pleaded with Yahweh my God and made this confession: 'O my Lord, God great and to be feared, youkeep the covenant and show faithful love towards those who love you and who observe your commandments:	4 E feci orazione al Signore Dio mio e gli professai adorazione e dissi:- O Signore, Dio grande e terribile, che mantieni il patto e la misericordia con coloro che ti amano e che osservano i tuoi comandamenti.
5 we have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly, we have betrayed yourcommandments and rulings and turned away from them.	5 Noi abbiamo peccato, siamo stati iniqui, empi ribelli, e ci siamo discostati dai tuoi comandamenti e dai tuoi precetti.
6 We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our chiefmen, our ancestors and al people of the country.	6 Non abbiamo dato ascolto ai tuoi servi, i profeti, che in nome tuo parlarono ai re, ai principi, ai padri nostri e a tutta la popolazione del nostro paese.
7 Saving justice, Lord, is yours; we have only the look of shame we wear today, we, the people of Judah,the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the whole of Israel, near and far away, in every country to which you havedispersed us because of the treachery we have committed against you.	7 A te, o Signore, la giustizia; a noi la confusione della faccia quale è oggi per la gente di Giuda, per gli abitanti di Gerusalemme e per tutto Israele, per quei da vicino e per quei di lontano, in tutti i paesi dove li hai cacciati, a causa delle loro colpe colle quali ti avevano offeso.
8 To us, our kings, our chief men and our ancestors, belongs the look of shame, O Yahweh, since wehave sinned against you.	8 A noi, o Signore, la confusione della faccia, ai re, ai principi, e ai padri nostri che hanno peccato;
9 And it is for the Lord our God to have mercy and to pardon, since we have betrayed him,	9 a te, Signore Dio nostro, usar misericordia ed esser propizio, perchè ci siamo ritirati da te,
10 and have not listened to the voice of Yahweh our God nor fol owed the laws he has given us throughhis servants the prophets.	10 e non abbiamo dato ascolto alla voce del Signore Dio nostro di camminare nella sua legge che a noi aveva stabilita per mezzo dei suoi servi, i profeti.
11 The whole of Israel has flouted your Law and turned away, unwil ing to listen to your voice; and thecurse and imprecation written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have come pouring down on us, becausewe have sinned against him.	11 E tutti quei d'Israele hanno trasgredito la tua legge e si discostarono non volendo dare ascolto alla tua voce, e si riversò su di noi la maledizione, e l'esecrazione che è stata scritta nel Libro di Mosè, servo di Dio, perchè abbiamo peccato.
12 He has carried out the threats which he made against us and the chief men who governed us -- thathe would bring so great a disaster down on us that the fate of Jerusalem would find no paral el under al heaven.	12 E adempì le parole che aveva pronunciate, contro di noi e contro i nostri principi che ci avevano governato, facendo venire sopra di noi quella sciagura immane quale mai non fu sotto al cielo, così come è avvenuto in Gerusalemme.
13 And now, as written in the Law of Moses, this whole calamity has befallen us; even so, we have notappeased Yahweh our God by renouncing our crimes and learning your truth.	13 Come sta scritto nella Legge di Mosè, così è venuto tutto questo male sopra di noi, e noi non abbiamo implorato la tua faccia, o Signore Dio nostro, per ravvederci dalle nostre iniquità, per riflettere alla tua impreteribile verità.
14 Yahweh has watched for the right moment to bring disaster on us, since Yahweh our God is just in allhis dealings with us, and we have not listened to his voice.	14 E il Signore, vigile sul male, fu pronto e lo fece venire sopra di noi: giusto è il Signore Dio nostro in tutte le sue opere che ha fatto: siamo noi che non abbiamo ascoltato la sua voce!
15 And now, Lord our God, who by your mighty hand brought us out of Egypt -- the renown you won thenendures to this day -- we have sinned, we have done wrong.	15 E ora, o Signore Dio nostro, che hai, con poderosa mano, condotto fuor dell'Egitto il tuo popolo e facesti risuonar alto il tuo nome, come è al giorno presente; noi abbiamo peccato e siamo stati iniqui.
16 Lord, by al your acts of saving justice, turn away your anger and your fury from Jerusalem, your city,your holy mountain, for as a result of our sins and the crimes of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people areobjects of scorn to al who surround us.	16 O Signore, per quanto può la tua giustizia, distogli, te ne scongiuro, la tua collera e il tuo sdegno dalla tua città, da Gerusalemme e dal tuo santo monte. Perchè a cagione dei nostri peccati e delle iniquità dei nostri padri, Gerusalemme e il tuo popolo sono in obbrobrio a tutti quelli che ci circondano.
17 And now, our God, listen to the prayer and pleading of your servant. For your own sake, Lord, let yourface smile again on your desolate sanctuary.	17 Or dunque, ascolta, o Dio nostro, la preghiera del tuo servo e le sue suppliche, e mostra benigno il volto sopra il tuo santuario che è rimasto deserto, avendolo Tu stesso permesso.
18 Listen, my God, listen to us; open your eyes and look at our plight and at the city that bears yourname. Relying not on our upright deeds but on your great mercy, we pour out our plea to you.	18 Porgi l'orecchio, o Dio mio, e ascolta; apri gli occhi e mira la nostra desolazione e la città sulla quale è invocato il tuo nome, perchè, non fiduciosi nelle nostre opere di giustizia, noi umiliamo le nostre preci davanti alla tua faccia, ma nella tua grande misericordia.
19 Listen, Lord! Forgive, Lord! Hear, Lord, and act! For your own sake, my God, do not delay -- sinceyour city and your people alike bear your name.'	19 Esaudisci, o Signore, placati, o Signore, presta ascolto e opera, non tardare, per amor di te stesso, o Dio mio, perchè è invocato il tuo nome sopra la tua città e sopra il tuo popolo. -
20 I was stil speaking, still at prayer, confessing my own sins and the sins of my people Israel, andplacing my plea before Yahweh my God for the holy mountain of my God,	20 Io parlava ancora e pregava e confessava i miei peccati e i peccati del mio popolo Israele, e umiliava le mie suppliche davanti al mio Dio per il santo monte del mio Dio.
21 still speaking, still at prayer, when Gabriel, the being I had originally seen in vision, swooped on me inful flight at the hour of the evening sacrifice.	21 Stando dunque ancora in preghiera, ecco quell'uomo, Gabriele, che da principio mi era comparso in visione, volando subitamente mi toccò; era l'ora del sacrificio della sera.
22 He came, he spoke, he said to me, 'Now, Daniel; I have come down to teach you how to understand.	22 Volle istruirmi, e volgendomi la parola disse: - Daniele, sono uscito or ora per istruirti e farti consapevole.
23 When your pleading began, a word was uttered, and I have come to tel you. You are a man speciallychosen. Grasp the meaning of the word, understand the vision:	23 La parola è uscita al principio delle tue preghiere e io sono venuto per notificartela, perchè sei un uomo ben accetto: tu dunque bada bene alle parole e a comprendere la visione.
24 'Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city, for putting an end to transgression, forplacing the seal on sin, for expiating crime, for introducing everlasting uprightness for setting the seal on visionand on prophecy, for anointing the holy of holies.	24 Settanta settimane son state fissate pel tuo popolo e per la tua santa città, affinchè abbia termine la prevaricazione e sia chiusa l'èra del peccato e cancellata l'iniquità, e condotta la giustizia sempiterna e si compiano le previsioni e le profezie, e sia Unto il santo dei santi.
25 Know this, then, and understand: From the time there went out this message: "Return and rebuildJerusalem" to the coming of an Anointed Prince, seven weeks and sixty-two weeks, with squares and rampartsrestored and rebuilt, but in a time of trouble.	25 Sappi dunque e considera bene: dall'emanazione della parola affinchè sia edificata di nuovo Gerusalemme, fino a un Unto, un principe, vi saranno settimane sette e settimane sessantadue; e di nuovo saranno riedificate le piazze e le mura in tempi di angustia.
26 And after the sixty-two weeks an Anointed One put to death without his . . . city and sanctuary ruinedby a prince who is to come. The end of that prince wil be catastrophe and, until the end, there wil be war and althe devastation decreed.	26 E dopo sessantadue settimane, un Unto sarà messo a morte e non sarà il suo popolo che lo rinnegherà. E un popolo col suo duce che verrà, distruggerà la città e il santuario; e il suo termine sarà la devastazione, e dopo il termine della guerra, devastazione decretata.
27 He wil strike a firm al iance with many people for the space of a week; and for the space of one half-week he wil put a stop to sacrifice and oblation, and on the wing of the Temple will be the appal ing abominationuntil the end, until the doom assigned to the devastator.'	27 Salderà l'alleanza con molti in una settimana; e alla metà della settimana, cesserà l'offerta e il sacrificio, e nel tempio vi sarà l'abominazione della desolazione, e fino alla consumazione e al termine perdurerà la desolazione-».
