Ezekiel 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I was sitting at home and the elders of Judah weresitting with me, when suddenly the hand of the Lord Yahweh fel on me there.	1 Nell'annosesto, nel sesto mese, ai cinque del mese, mentre stavo a sedere in casa mia, e stavan seduti davanti a me gli anziani di Giuda, piombò sopra di me la mano del Signore Dio,
2 I looked, and there was a form with the appearance of a human being. Downwards from what seemedto be the waist there was fire; and upwards from the waist there was a bril iance like the glitter of amber.	2 e vidi, ed ecco un'immagine (di un uomo) dall'aspetto di fuoco; a vederlo, dai lombi in giù era fuoco, dai lombi in su aveva l'aspetto come di splendore e sembrava elettro.
3 Something like a hand was stretched out and it took me by a lock of my hair; and the spirit lifted mebetween heaven and earth and, in visions from God, took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the inner northgate, where stands the idol that provokes jealousy.	3 E stesa una specio di mano, mi prese per un ciuffo della mia testa, e mi alzò in spirito fra la terra e il cielo, e mi portò in Gerusalemme, per una visione di Dio, all'entrata della porta interiore, che guardava a settentrione, dove era stato posto l'idolo della gelosia per provocare gelosia.
4 There was the glory of the God of Israel; it looked like what I had seen in the val ey.	4 Ed ecco lì pure la gloria del Dio di Israele, secondo la visione che m'era apparsa nella campagna.
5 He said, 'Son of man, raise your eyes to the north.' I raised my eyes to the north, and there, to the northof the altar gate, stood this statue of jealousy at the entrance.	5 Ed egli mi disse: « Figlio dell'uomo, alza i tuoi occhi verso il settentrione ». Alzai gli occhi miei verso il settentrione, ed ecco, dal lato settentrionale della porta dell'altare, l'idolo della gelosia, proprio all'entrata.
6 He said, 'Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the monstrous, loathsome things that the Houseof Israel is practising here, to drive me out of my sanctuary? And you wil see practices more loathsome still.'	6 E mi disse: « Figlio dell'uomo, non vedi tu quello che fan costoro, le grandi abominazioni che la casa d'Israele commette in questo luogo, per farmi andar via dal mio santuario? Guardando dell'altro, vedrai abominazioni maggiori ».
7 He next took me to the entrance to the court. I looked; there was a hole in the wal .	7 E mi condusse alla porta dell'atrio, e vidi, ed ecco vi era un foro nella parete.
8 He said, 'Son of man, bore through the wal .' I bored through the wall, until I had made an opening.	8 E mi disse: « Figlio dell'uomo, sfonda la parete ». E come ebbi sfondata la parete, apparve una porta.
9 He said, 'Go in and look at the loathsome things they are doing inside.'	9 E mi disse: « Entra dentro e osserva le orribili abominazioni che essi commettono in questo luogo ».
10 I went in and looked and there was every kind of reptile and repulsive animal, and al the foul idols ofthe House of Israel, carved al round the walls.	10 Entrai e guardai, ed ecco ogni figura di rettili e d'animali, l'abominazione e tutti gli idoli della casa d'Israele eran dipinti per tutto il muro all'intorno.
11 Seventy elders of the House of Israel were worshipping the idols -- among them Jaazaniah son ofShaphan -- each one with his censer in his hand, from which rose a fragrant cloud of incense.	11 E settanta uomini degli anziani della casa d'Israele, in mezzo ai quali era Gezonia figlio di Safari, stavan dinanzi alle pitture, e ciascuno aveva in mano un turibolo, e dall'incenso s'alzava una nube di fumo.
12 He said, 'Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the House of Israel do in the dark, each in hispersonal image-shrine? They say, "Yahweh cannot see us; Yahweh has abandoned the country." '	12 E mi disse: « Senza dubbio, o figlio dell'uomo, tu vedi le cose che gli anziani della casa d'Israele fanno nelle tenebre, ciascuno nel segreto della sua camera, perchè dicono: « Il Signore non ci vede; il Signore ha abbandonata la terra ».
13 He said, 'You wil see them at practices more loathsome stil .'	13 E mi disse: « Guardando ancora vedrai abominazioni maggiori, fatte da costoro ».
14 He next took me to the entrance of the north gate of the Temple of Yahweh where women were sitting,weeping for Tammuz.	14 E mi condusse all'entrata della porta della casa del Signore, che guardava a settentrione, ed ecco li delle donne a sedere, a piangere la morte d'Adone.
15 He said, 'Son of man, do you see that? You will see even more loathsome things than that.'	15 E mi disse: « Certamente hai veduto, o figlio dell'uomo; se guarderai ancora vedrai abominazioni maggiori di queste ».
16 He then led me to the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh. And there, at the entrance to Yahweh'ssanctuary, between the portico and the altar, there were about twenty-five men, with their backs to Yahweh'ssanctuary and their faces turned towards the east. They were prostrating themselves to the east, before therising sun.	16 E mi condusse nell'atrio interiore della casa del Signore, ed ecco all'ingresso del tempio del Signore, tra il vestibolo e l'altare, circa venticinque uomini, che, volta la schiena al tempio del Signore e la faccia all'oriente, adoravano verso oriente.
17 He said to me, 'Son of man, do you see that? Is it not bad enough for the House of Judah to be doingthe loathsome things they are doing here? But they fil the country with violence and provoke my anger further;look at them now putting that branch to their nostrils.	17 E mi disse: « Certamente tu hai visto, o figlio dell'uomo. E' forse troppo poco per la casa di Giuda fare queste abominazioni che han fatto in questo luogo, perchè, dopo aver ripiena la terra d'iniquità, si son rivolti ad irritarmi? Ed ecco che accostano il ramoscello alle loro narici.
18 And so I shal react in fury; I shal show neither pity nor mercy. They may cry as loudly as they like to me; I wil not listen.'	18 Anch'io dunque agirò nel mio furore, il mio occhio non risparmierà, sarò senza misericordia, e quando alzeranno le grida alle mie orecchie, io non li starò a sentire ».
