Ezekiel 8

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I was sitting at home and the elders of Judah weresitting with me, when suddenly the hand of the Lord Yahweh fel on me there.	1 El sexto año, el quinto del sexto mes, mientras yo estaba sentado en mi casa y los ancianos de Judá estaban sentados delante de mí, descendió sobre mí la mano del Señor.
2 I looked, and there was a form with the appearance of a human being. Downwards from what seemedto be the waist there was fire; and upwards from the waist there was a bril iance like the glitter of amber.	2 Yo miré y vi una figura con aspecto humano. Desde lo que parecía ser su cintura para abajo, había fuego, y desde su cintura para arriba, había una especie de claridad, un fulgor como de electro.
3 Something like a hand was stretched out and it took me by a lock of my hair; and the spirit lifted mebetween heaven and earth and, in visions from God, took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the inner northgate, where stands the idol that provokes jealousy.	3 Extendió algo así como una mano y me tomó por un mechón de mis cabellos. Un espíritu me levantó entre la tierra y el cielo y me llevó en una visión divina a Jerusalén, hasta la entrada de la puerta interior que da hacia el norte, allí donde está emplazado el Idolo de los celos que provoca los celos de Dios.
4 There was the glory of the God of Israel; it looked like what I had seen in the val ey.	4 Allí estaba la gloria del Dios de Israel, tal como yo la había visto en el valle.
5 He said, 'Son of man, raise your eyes to the north.' I raised my eyes to the north, and there, to the northof the altar gate, stood this statue of jealousy at the entrance.	5 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, levanta tus ojos hacia el norte». Yo levanté mis ojos hacia el norte y vi que al norte de la puerta del altar, justo a la entrada, estaba el Idolo de los celos.
6 He said, 'Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the monstrous, loathsome things that the Houseof Israel is practising here, to drive me out of my sanctuary? And you wil see practices more loathsome still.'	6 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombres, ¿ves lo que lo que hacen? ¿Ves las grandes abominaciones que cometen aquí los israelitas para que yo me aleje de mi Santuario? Pero tú verás abominaciones más grandes todavía».
7 He next took me to the entrance to the court. I looked; there was a hole in the wal .	7 Después me llevó a la entrada del atrio; yo miré y vi que había un agujero en el muro.
8 He said, 'Son of man, bore through the wal .' I bored through the wall, until I had made an opening.	8 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, abre un boquete en el muro». Yo abrí un boquete y vi que había una puerta.
9 He said, 'Go in and look at the loathsome things they are doing inside.'	9 El me dijo: «Entra y mira las abominaciones que están cometiendo ahí».
10 I went in and looked and there was every kind of reptile and repulsive animal, and al the foul idols ofthe House of Israel, carved al round the walls.	10 Yo entré y miré, y vi que había toda clase de reptiles y de animales horribles y todos los ídolos de la casa de Israel, grabados en todas las paredes.
11 Seventy elders of the House of Israel were worshipping the idols -- among them Jaazaniah son ofShaphan -- each one with his censer in his hand, from which rose a fragrant cloud of incense.	11 Setenta hombres de entre los ancianos del pueblo de Israel –entre los cuales se encontraba Iazanías, hijo de Satán– estaban de pie delante de ellos: cada uno tenía un incensario en la mano, y subía el perfume de una nube de incienso.
12 He said, 'Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the House of Israel do in the dark, each in hispersonal image-shrine? They say, "Yahweh cannot see us; Yahweh has abandoned the country." '	12 El me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ¿ves lo que los ancianos del pueblo de Israel hacen a escondidas, cada uno en su habitación adornada de pinturas? Porque ellos piensan: El Señor no nos ve; el Señor ha abandonado el país».
13 He said, 'You wil see them at practices more loathsome stil .'	13 Después, él me dijo: «Verás que cometen abominaciones más grandes todavía».
14 He next took me to the entrance of the north gate of the Temple of Yahweh where women were sitting,weeping for Tammuz.	14 Y me llevó hasta la entrada de la puerta de la Casa del Señor, lo que da hacia el norte, y vi que allí había unas mujeres sentadas llorando a Tamuz.
15 He said, 'Son of man, do you see that? You will see even more loathsome things than that.'	15 El me dijo: «¿Has visto, hijo de hombre? Tú verás abominaciones más grandes todavía».
16 He then led me to the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh. And there, at the entrance to Yahweh'ssanctuary, between the portico and the altar, there were about twenty-five men, with their backs to Yahweh'ssanctuary and their faces turned towards the east. They were prostrating themselves to the east, before therising sun.	16 Luego me llevó hacia el atrio interior de la Casa del Señor, y vi que a la entrada del Templo del Señor, entre el vestíbulo y el altar, había unos veinticinco hombres, dando la espalda al Templo del Señor, y con sus rostros vueltos hacia el oriente; y ellos se postraron hacia el oriente, delante del sol.
17 He said to me, 'Son of man, do you see that? Is it not bad enough for the House of Judah to be doingthe loathsome things they are doing here? But they fil the country with violence and provoke my anger further;look at them now putting that branch to their nostrils.	17 El me dijo: «¿Has visto, hijo de hombre? ¿No le basta al pueblo de Judá cometer las abominaciones que aquí cometen, que también han llenado el país de violencia y no cesan de irritarme? Ellos llevan el ramo hasta su nariz.
18 And so I shal react in fury; I shal show neither pity nor mercy. They may cry as loudly as they like to me; I wil not listen.'	18 Yo también obraré con furor, sin una mirada de piedad y sin tener compasión. Gritarán con toda su voz a mis oídos, pero no los escucharé.
