Ezekiel 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I was sitting at home and the elders of Judah weresitting with me, when suddenly the hand of the Lord Yahweh fel on me there.	1 En la sixième année, le cinquième jour du sixième mois, j’étais assis dans ma maison et les anciens de Juda étaient assis en face de moi. Alors la main de Yahvé tomba sur moi.
2 I looked, and there was a form with the appearance of a human being. Downwards from what seemedto be the waist there was fire; and upwards from the waist there was a bril iance like the glitter of amber.	2 Je regardai: c’était une forme humaine; au-dessous de la ceinture elle n’était que feu, et depuis la ceinture vers le haut, elle était comme un métal incandescent.
3 Something like a hand was stretched out and it took me by a lock of my hair; and the spirit lifted mebetween heaven and earth and, in visions from God, took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the inner northgate, where stands the idol that provokes jealousy.	3 Il étendit ce qui pouvait être une main et me saisit par les cheveux: aussitôt l’Esprit m’enleva entre terre et ciel. Il me conduisit à Jérusalem dans une vision divine, jusqu’à l’entrée de la porte qui regarde vers le nord, là où est l’idole qui provoque la jalousie du Seigneur.
4 There was the glory of the God of Israel; it looked like what I had seen in the val ey.	4 Là se tenait la Gloire du Dieu d’Israël, telle que je l’avais vue en vision dans la vallée.
5 He said, 'Son of man, raise your eyes to the north.' I raised my eyes to the north, and there, to the northof the altar gate, stood this statue of jealousy at the entrance.	5 Il me dit: “Fils d’homme, regarde donc vers le nord.” Je regardai vers le nord, et cette idole de la jalousie était là au nord de l’entrée vers l’autel.
6 He said, 'Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the monstrous, loathsome things that the Houseof Israel is practising here, to drive me out of my sanctuary? And you wil see practices more loathsome still.'	6 Il me dit: “Fils d’homme, as-tu vu toutes les horreurs que la maison d’Israël commet ici pour me mettre à la porte de mon Sanctuaire? Mais tu verras pire encore.”
7 He next took me to the entrance to the court. I looked; there was a hole in the wal .	7 Il me conduit alors vers la porte de la cour
8 He said, 'Son of man, bore through the wal .' I bored through the wall, until I had made an opening.	8 et il me dit: “Fils d’homme, perce ce mur.” Je perce le mur et j’y fais une porte.
9 He said, 'Go in and look at the loathsome things they are doing inside.'	9 Lui me dit: “Entre et regarde les choses scandaleuses qu’ils font ici.”
10 I went in and looked and there was every kind of reptile and repulsive animal, and al the foul idols ofthe House of Israel, carved al round the walls.	10 J’entre, je regarde et je vois toutes sortes de reptiles et de bêtes impures gravées tout autour sur le mur: toutes les sales idoles de la maison d’Israël.
11 Seventy elders of the House of Israel were worshipping the idols -- among them Jaazaniah son ofShaphan -- each one with his censer in his hand, from which rose a fragrant cloud of incense.	11 Soixante-dix hommes étaient là, chacun avec son encensoir à la main et la fumée de l’encens s’élevait. C’étaient des anciens d’Israël et je reconnus parmi eux Yaazanya fils de Chafan,
12 He said, 'Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the House of Israel do in the dark, each in hispersonal image-shrine? They say, "Yahweh cannot see us; Yahweh has abandoned the country." '	12 Il me dit: “As-tu vu, fils d’homme, ce que font les anciens d’Israël, chacun dans la chambre de ses idoles? Ils se disent: Yahvé ne voit rien, Yahvé ne s’occupe pas de la terre.”
13 He said, 'You wil see them at practices more loathsome stil .'	13 Puis il me dit: “Tu verras encore d’autres choses scandaleuses qu’ils commettent.”
14 He next took me to the entrance of the north gate of the Temple of Yahweh where women were sitting,weeping for Tammuz.	14 Alors il me conduit vers l’entrée de la porte du Temple de Yahvé qui est au nord, et là je vois des femmes assises en train de pleurer Tammouz.
15 He said, 'Son of man, do you see that? You will see even more loathsome things than that.'	15 Il me dit: “As-tu vu, fils d’homme? Tu vas voir des choses encore plus scandaleuses que celles-ci.”
16 He then led me to the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh. And there, at the entrance to Yahweh'ssanctuary, between the portico and the altar, there were about twenty-five men, with their backs to Yahweh'ssanctuary and their faces turned towards the east. They were prostrating themselves to the east, before therising sun.	16 Il me conduit vers la cour intérieure du Temple de Yahvé et, à l’entrée du Temple de Yahvé, entre le vestibule et l’autel, je vois environ 25 hommes tournant le dos au Temple de Yahvé. Ils sont là, regardant vers l’est et ils se prosternent face au soleil.
17 He said to me, 'Son of man, do you see that? Is it not bad enough for the House of Judah to be doingthe loathsome things they are doing here? But they fil the country with violence and provoke my anger further;look at them now putting that branch to their nostrils.	17 Alors il me dit: “As-tu vu, fils d’homme, n’est-ce pas assez pour la maison de Juda de faire ici tant de choses scandaleuses? ( ) Vont-ils encore continuer de me mettre en colère? Cette fois ils ont passé la mesure,
18 And so I shal react in fury; I shal show neither pity nor mercy. They may cry as loudly as they like to me; I wil not listen.'	18 et je vais agir avec fureur, je ne les épargnerai pas, mon œil sera sans pitié.”
