New Jerusalem Bible La Biblia
He said, 'Son of man, get to your feet; I wil speak to you.'1 Y me decía: «Hijo de hombre, ponte en pie y te hablaré».
As he said these words the spirit came into me and put me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.2 El espíritu entró en mí mientras me hablaba, me puso en pie, y oí que me decía:
He said, 'Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to the rebels who have rebel ed against me.They and their ancestors have been in revolt against me up to the present day.3 «Hijo de hombre, yo te envío a los hijos de Israel, un pueblo rebelde que se ha rebelado contra mí. Ellos y sus padres me han ofendido hasta el día de hoy.
Because they are stubborn and obstinate children, I am sending you to them, to say, "Lord Yahwehsays this."4 También los hijos tienen dura la cerviz y el corazón obstinado; a ellos te envío para que les digas: “Esto dice el Señor”.
Whether they listen or not, this tribe of rebels will know there is a prophet among them.5 Te hagan caso o no te hagan caso, pues son un pueblo rebelde, reconocerán que hubo un profeta en medio de ellos.
And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or of what they say, though you find yourself surroundedwith brambles and sitting on scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words or alarmed by their looks, for they are atribe of rebels.6 Y tú, hijo de hombre, no los temas, ni temas sus palabras, aunque te rodeen cardos y espinas, y estés sentado sobre escorpiones: no temas sus palabras ni te espantes de ellos, porque son un pueblo rebelde.
You are to deliver my words to them whether they listen or not, for they are a tribe of rebels.7 Les dirás mis palabras, te escuchen o no te escuchen, porque son unos rebeldes.
But you, son of man, are to listen to what I say to you; do not be a rebel like that rebellious tribe. Openyour mouth and eat what I am about to give you.'8 Ahora, hijo de hombre, escucha lo que te digo: ¡No seas rebelde, como este pueblo rebelde! Abre la boca y come lo que te doy».
When I looked, there was a hand stretch- ing out to me, holding a scrol .9 Vi entonces una mano extendida hacia mí, con un documento enrollado.
He un- rol ed it in front of me; it was written on, front and back; on it was written 'Lamentations, dirgesand cries of grief '.10 Lo desenrolló ante mí: estaba escrito en el anverso y en el reverso; tenía escritas elegías, lamentos y ayes.
