Jeremiah 11

1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh,	1 Az ige, mely elhangzott Jeremiáshoz az Úrtól:
2 'Hear the terms of this covenant; tel them to the people of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.	2 »Halljátok e szövetség igéit! Beszéld el azokat Júda férfiainak és Jeruzsálem lakóinak!
3 Tel them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Cursed be anyone who will not listen to the terms of thiscovenant	3 Mondd nekik: Így szól az Úr, Izrael Istene: Átkozott az az ember, aki nem hallgat e szövetség igéire,
4 which I ordained for your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of that iron-foundry. Listen tomy voice, I told them, carry out al my orders, then you wil be my people and I shal be your God,	4 melyet atyáitoknak parancsoltam azon a napon, amelyen kihoztam őket Egyiptom földjéről, a vaskohóból, amikor ezt mondtam: Hallgassatok szavamra, és tegyétek meg mindazt, amit parancsolok nektek! 5 so that I may fulfil the oath I swore to your ancestors, that I may give them a country flowing with milkand honey, as is the case today." ' I replied, 'So be it, Yahweh!'	5 hogy teljesítsem az esküt, melyet atyáitoknak esküdtem, hogy tejjel-mézzel folyó országot adok nekik, ahogy ez ma is van.« Feleltem és mondtam: »Ámen, Uram!«
6 Then Yahweh said to me, 'Proclaim al these terms in the towns of Judah and in the streets ofJerusalem, saying, "Listen to the terms of this covenant and obey them.	6 Majd ezt mondta nekem az Úr: »Kiáltsd mindezeket az igéket Júda városaiban és Jeruzsálem utcáin, s mondd: Halljátok e szövetség igéit, és tegyétek meg azokat!
7 For when I brought your ancestors out of Egypt, I solemnly warned them, and have persistently warnedthem until today, saying: Listen to my voice.	7 Mert óva intettem atyáitokat azon a napon, amelyen felhoztam őket Egyiptom földjéről, és mind a mai napig, idejekorán intettem őket, s mondtam: Hallgassatok szavamra!
8 But they did not listen, did not pay attention; instead, each followed his own stubborn and wickedinclinations. And against them, in consequence, I put into action the words of this covenant which I had orderedthem to obey and which they had not obeyed." '	8 De nem hallgatták meg, és nem hajtották ide fülüket, hanem mindenki a maga gonosz szívének megátalkodottsága szerint járt. Ezért elhoztam rájuk e szövetség minden igéjét, melyet azért parancsoltam, hogy megtegyék, de nem tették meg.«
9 Yahweh said to me, 'Plainly there is conspiracy among the people of Judah and the citizens ofJerusalem.	9 Majd ezt mondta nekem az Úr: »Összeesküvés van Júda férfiai és Jeruzsálem lakói között.
10 They have reverted to the sins of their ancestors who refused to listen to my words: they too arefol owing other gods and serving them. The House of Israel and the House of Judah have broken my covenantwhich I made with their ancestors.	10 Visszatértek atyáik korábbi bűneihez, akik vonakodtak meghallgatni igéimet; ők is más istenek után mentek, hogy azoknak szolgáljanak. 11 And so, Yahweh says this, "I shal now bring a disaster on them which they cannot escape; they willcal to me for help, but I shal not listen to them.	11 Ezért így szól az Úr: Íme, én olyan bajt hozok rájuk, amelyből nem tudnak kijönni. Kiáltanak majd hozzám, de nem hallgatom meg őket.
12 The towns of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem wil then go and cal for help to the gods to whomthey burn incense, but these will be no help at al to them in their time of distress!	12 Menjenek csak Júda városai és Jeruzsálem lakói, és kiáltsanak azokhoz az istenekhez, akiknek tömjént áldoznak! De azok nem tudják őket megszabadítani bajuk idején.
13 "For you have as many gods as you have towns, Judah! You have built as many altars to Shame, asmany incense altars to Baal, as Jerusalem has streets!	13 Mert amennyi városaid száma, annyi lett az istened, Júda! És amennyi Jeruzsálem utcáinak száma, annyi oltárt állítottatok a gyalázatos bálványnak, oltárokat, hogy tömjént áldozzatok Baálnak.
14 "You, for your part, must not intercede for this people, nor raise either plea or prayer on their behalf, for I wil not listen when their distress forces them to cal to me for help."	14 Te pedig ne imádkozz ezért a népért, és ne mondj értük esdeklő imádságot! Mert nem hallgatom meg, amikor hozzám kiáltanak bajuk miatt.
15 'What is my beloved doing in my house? She has achieved her wicked plans. Can vows andconsecrated meat turn disaster from you for you to be so happy?	15 Mit akar kedvesem a házamban? Végbevinni az álnok tervet? Talán a fogadalmak és a szent hús eltávolítják tőled gonoszságodat, hogy akkor majd ujjonghass?«
16 "Green olive-tree covered in fine fruit", was Yahweh's name for you. With a shattering noise he hasset fire to it, its branches are broken.'	16 Zöldellő, szép, formás gyümölcsű olajfának hívta nevedet az Úr. Nagy, zúgó hanggal tüzet gyújtott rajta, és összetörtek ágai.
17 And Yahweh Sabaoth, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you because of the evil the Houseof Israel and the House of Judah have done, provoking me by burning incense to Baal.	17 A Seregek Ura, aki ültetett téged, bajt mondott ki rád Izrael házának és Júda házának gonoszsága miatt, melyet elkövettek a maguk kárára, hogy bosszantsanak engem, tömjént áldozva Baálnak.
18 Yahweh informed me and I knew it; you then revealed their scheming to me.	18 Az Úr tudatta velem, és megtudtam. Akkor megmutattad nekem tetteiket.
19 I for my part was like a trustful lamb being led to the slaughterhouse, not knowing the schemes theywere plotting against me, 'Let us destroy the tree in its strength, let us cut him off from the land of the living, sothat his name may no longer be remembered!'	19 Én pedig olyan vagyok, mint egy kezes bárány, melyet levágni visznek; és nem tudtam, hogy ilyen terveket szőttek ellenem: »Pusztítsuk el a fát gyümölcsével együtt, és vágjuk ki az élők földjéből, hogy nevére se emlékezzenek többé!«
20 Yahweh Sabaoth, whose judgement is upright, tester of motives and thoughts, I shal see yourvengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to you.	20 Seregek Ura, igazságos bíró, vesék és szívek vizsgálója, hadd lássam bosszúdat rajtuk, mert eléd tártam ügyemet!
21 Against the people of Anathoth who are determined to kil me and say to me, 'Do not prophesy in thename of Yahweh or you will die at our hands!'	21 Ezért így szól az Úr Anatót férfiairól, akik életedre törnek, és azt mondják: »Ne prófétálj az Úr nevében, hogy meg ne halj kezünk által!«;
22 Yahweh says this, 'I am about to punish them. Their young people will die by the sword, their sonsand daughters by famine.	22 ezért így szól a Seregek Ura: »Íme, én meglátogatom őket: az ifjak kard által halnak meg, fiaik és leányaik éhen halnak.
23 Not one wil be left when I bring disaster on the people of Anathoth, when the year for punishing themcomes.'	23 És maradékuk nem lesz, mert bajt hozok Anatót férfiaira: látogatásuk esztendejét.«
