Leviticus 4

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If anyone sins inadvertently against any of Yahweh's commandmentsand does anything prohibited by them,	2 דבר אל בני ישראל לאמר נפש כי תחטא בשגגה מכל מצות יהוה אשר לא תעשינה ועשה מאחת מהנה
3 if the one who sins is the anointed priest, thus making the people guilty, then for the sin which he hascommitted he must offer Yahweh a young bul , an unblemished animal from the herd, as a sacrifice for sin.	3 אם הכהן המשיח יחטא לאשמת העם והקריב על חטאתו אשר חטא פר בן בקר תמים ליהוה לחטאת
4 He wil bring the bul before Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, wil lay his hand on its headand slaughter it before Yahweh.	4 והביא את הפר אל פתח אהל מועד לפני יהוה וסמך את ידו על ראש הפר ושחט את הפר לפני יהוה
5 The anointed priest wil then take some of the bul 's blood and carry it into the Tent of Meeting.	5 ולקח הכהן המשיח מדם הפר והביא אתו אל אהל מועד
6 He wil then dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times in front of the sanctuary curtain, beforeYahweh.	6 וטבל הכהן את אצבעו בדם והזה מן הדם שבע פעמים לפני יהוה את פני פרכת הקדש
7 The priest will then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of incense smoking before Yahweh inthe Tent of Meeting, and wil pour al the rest of the bul 's blood at the foot of the altar of burnt offerings at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting.	7 ונתן הכהן מן הדם על קרנות מזבח קטרת הסמים לפני יהוה אשר באהל מועד ואת כל דם הפר ישפך אל יסוד מזבח העלה אשר פתח אהל מועד
8 "Of the bul offered as a sacrifice for sin, he wil set aside all the fat: the fat covering the entrails, al the fat on the entrails,	8 ואת כל חלב פר החטאת ירים ממנו את החלב המכסה על הקרב ואת כל החלב אשר על הקרב
9 both kidneys, the fat on them and on the loins, the mass of fat which he wil remove from the liver andkidneys-	9 ואת שתי הכלית ואת החלב אשר עליהן אשר על הכסלים ואת היתרת על הכבד על הכליות יסירנה
10 exactly as was done with the portion set aside in the communion sacrifice -- and the priest will burnthese pieces on the altar of burnt offerings.	10 כאשר יורם משור זבח השלמים והקטירם הכהן על מזבח העלה
11 "The bul 's skin and al its meat, its head, its shins, its entrails and its offal,	11 ואת עור הפר ואת כל בשרו על ראשו ועל כרעיו וקרבו ופרשו
12 the whole bul he wil then have carried out of the camp to a clean place, the place where the fattyashes are thrown, and wil burn it on a wood fire; it must be burnt where the ashes are thrown.	12 והוציא את כל הפר אל מחוץ למחנה אל מקום טהור אל שפך הדשן ושרף אתו על עצים באש על שפך הדשן ישרף
13 "If the whole community of Israel has sinned inadvertently and, without being aware of it has incurredguilt by doing something forbidden by Yahweh's commandments,	13 ואם כל עדת ישראל ישגו ונעלם דבר מעיני הקהל ועשו אחת מכל מצות יהוה אשר לא תעשינה ואשמו
14 once the sin of which it is guilty has been discovered, the community must offer a young bul , anunblemished animal from the herd, as a sacrifice for sin, and bring it in front of the Tent of Meeting.	14 ונודעה החטאת אשר חטאו עליה והקריבו הקהל פר בן בקר לחטאת והביאו אתו לפני אהל מועד
15 The elders of the community wil then lay their hands on the bul 's head before Yahweh, and the bulwil be slaughtered before Yahweh.	15 וסמכו זקני העדה את ידיהם על ראש הפר לפני יהוה ושחט את הפר לפני יהוה
16 "The anointed priest wil then take some of the bul 's blood into the Tent of Meeting.	16 והביא הכהן המשיח מדם הפר אל אהל מועד
17 He will then dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times in front of the curtain, beforeYahweh.	17 וטבל הכהן אצבעו מן הדם והזה שבע פעמים לפני יהוה את פני הפרכת
18 He will then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar standing before Yahweh inside the Tent ofMeeting, and then pour al the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar of burnt offerings at the entrance to theTent of Meeting.	18 ומן הדם יתן על קרנת המזבח אשר לפני יהוה אשר באהל מועד ואת כל הדם ישפך אל יסוד מזבח העלה אשר פתח אהל מועד
19 "He wil then set aside al the fat from the animal and burn it on the altar.	19 ואת כל חלבו ירים ממנו והקטיר המזבחה
20 He will then deal with the bul as he did with the bul in the sacrifice for sin. It wil be dealt with in thesame way; and once the priest has performed the rite of expiation for the people, they will be forgiven.	20 ועשה לפר כאשר עשה לפר החטאת כן יעשה לו וכפר עלהם הכהן ונסלח להם
21 "He wil then have the bul carried out of the camp and wil burn it as he burned the first one. This is thesacrifice for the sin of the community.	21 והוציא את הפר אל מחוץ למחנה ושרף אתו כאשר שרף את הפר הראשון חטאת הקהל הוא
22 "When a leader has sinned and inadvertently incurred guilt by doing something forbidden by thecommandments of Yahweh his God	22 אשר נשיא יחטא ועשה אחת מכל מצות יהוה אלהיו אשר לא תעשינה בשגגה ואשם
23 (or if the sin which he has committed is drawn to his attention), he must bring a he-goat as his offering,an unblemished male.	23 או הודע אליו חטאתו אשר חטא בה והביא את קרבנו שעיר עזים זכר תמים
24 He will then lay his hand on the goat's head and slaughter it on the spot where the burnt offerings areslaughtered before Yahweh. This is a sacrifice for sin;	24 וסמך ידו על ראש השעיר ושחט אתו במקום אשר ישחט את העלה לפני יהוה חטאת הוא
25 the priest wil take some of the victim's blood on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burntofferings. He will then pour the rest of its blood at the foot of the altar of burnt offerings	25 ולקח הכהן מדם החטאת באצבעו ונתן על קרנת מזבח העלה ואת דמו ישפך אל יסוד מזבח העלה
26 and burn al the fat on the altar, as with the fat in the communion sacrifice. This is how the priest mustperform the rite of expiation for him to free him from his sin, and he wil be forgiven.	26 ואת כל חלבו יקטיר המזבחה כחלב זבח השלמים וכפר עליו הכהן מחטאתו ונסלח לו
27 "If one of the country people sins inadvertently and incurs guilt by doing something forbidden byYahweh's commandments	27 ואם נפש אחת תחטא בשגגה מעם הארץ בעשתה אחת ממצות יהוה אשר לא תעשינה ואשם
28 (or if the sin which he has committed is drawn to his attention), he must bring a she-goat as his offeringfor the sin which he has committed, an unblemished female.	28 או הודע אליו חטאתו אשר חטא והביא קרבנו שעירת עזים תמימה נקבה על חטאתו אשר חטא
29 He will then lay his hand on the victim's head and slaughter it on the spot where the burnt offerings areslaughtered.	29 וסמך את ידו על ראש החטאת ושחט את החטאת במקום העלה
30 The priest wil take some of its blood on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings.He will then pour all the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar.	30 ולקח הכהן מדמה באצבעו ונתן על קרנת מזבח העלה ואת כל דמה ישפך אל יסוד המזבח
31 He will then remove al the fat, as the fat was removed for the communion sacrifice, and the priest wilburn it on the altar as a smell pleasing to Yahweh. This is how the priest must perform the rite of expiation forhim, and he wil be forgiven.	31 ואת כל חלבה יסיר כאשר הוסר חלב מעל זבח השלמים והקטיר הכהן המזבחה לריח ניחח ליהוה וכפר עליו הכהן ונסלח לו
32 "If he wishes to bring a lamb as an offering for this kind of sacrifice, he must bring an unblemishedfemale.	32 ואם כבש יביא קרבנו לחטאת נקבה תמימה יביאנה
33 He will then lay his hand on the victim's head and slaughter it as a sacrifice for sin on the spot wherethe burnt offerings are slaughtered.	33 וסמך את ידו על ראש החטאת ושחט אתה לחטאת במקום אשר ישחט את העלה
34 The priest wil take some of the victim's blood on his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burntofferings. He will then pour al the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar.	34 ולקח הכהן מדם החטאת באצבעו ונתן על קרנת מזבח העלה ואת כל דמה ישפך אל יסוד המזבח
35 He will then remove al the fat, as was done for the sheep in the communion sacrifice, and the priestwil burn it as food burnt for Yahweh. This is how the priest must perform for him the rite of expiation for the sinwhich he has committed, and he wil be forgiven." '	35 ואת כל חלבה יסיר כאשר יוסר חלב הכשב מזבח השלמים והקטיר הכהן אתם המזבחה על אשי יהוה וכפר עליו הכהן על חטאתו אשר חטא ונסלח לו
