Leviticus 17

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
2 'Speak to Aaron and his sons and al the Israelites and say: "This is the order that Yahweh has given:	2 "Dize a Aarão, a seus filhos e a todos os israelitas o seguinte: eis as ordens do Senhor:
3 "Any man of the House of Israel who slaughters a bull, lamb or goat, whether inside the camp oroutside it,	3 Todo israelita que imolar um boi, uma ovelha ou uma cabra, no acampamento ou fora dele,
4 without bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to make an offering of it to Yahweh in front ofhis Dwel ing, that man wil be answerable for bloodshed; he has shed blood, and that man wil be outlawed fromhis people.	4 sem apresentá-lo à entrada da tenda de reunião para oferecê-lo ao Senhor diante do seu tabernáculo, será réu do sangue oferecido. Esse homem derramou sangue, e será cortado do meio de seu povo.
5 The purpose of this is that the Israelites should instead bring their sacrifices, which they wouldotherwise offer in the countryside, to Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, to the priest, and offer themas communion sacrifices to Yahweh;	5 Por isso os israelitas, em lugar de ofereceram os seus sacrifícios no campo, apresentarão as vítimas ao sacerdote, diante do Senhor, à entrada da tenda de reunião, e as oferecerão ao Senhor em sacrifício pacífico.
6 and the priest wil sprinkle the blood on Yahweh's altar at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and willburn the fat as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	6 O sacerdote derramará o seu sangue sobre o altar do Senhor, à entrada da tenda de reunião, e queimará a gordura em odor agradável ao Senhor.
7 No longer may they offer their sacrifices to the satyrs in whose service they used to prostitutethemselves. This is a perpetual law for them and for their descendants."	7 Nunca mais oferecerão os seus sacrifícios aos sátiros, com os quais se prostituem. Esta será para eles uma lei perpétua de geração em geração.
8 'You will also say to them, "Any member of the House of Israel or any resident alien who offers a burntoffering or sacrifice	8 Dir-lhes-ás: todo israelita ou todo estrangeiro que habita no meio deles, e que oferecer um holocausto ou outro sacrifício,
9 without bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to offer it to Yahweh, will be outlawed from hispeople.	9 sem levar a vítima à entrada da tenda de reunião para sacrificá-la ao Senhor, será cortado do meio de seu povo.
10 "If any member of the House of Israel or any resident alien consumes blood of any kind, I shal set myface against that individual who consumes blood and shal outlaw him from his people.	10 A todo israelita ou a todo estrangeiro, que habita no meio deles, e que comer qualquer espécie de sangue, voltarei minha face contra ele, e exterminá-lo-ei do meio de seu povo.
11 For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you for performing the rite of expiationon the altar for your lives, for blood is what expiates for a life.	11 Pois a alma da carne está no sangue, e dei-vos esse sangue para o altar, a fim de que ele sirva de expiação por vossas almas, porque é pela alma que o sangue expia.
12 That is why I told the Israelites: None of you wil consume blood, nor wil any resident alien consumeblood.	12 Eis por que eu disse aos israelitas: ninguém dentre vós comerá sangue, nem o estrangeiro que habita no meio de vós.
13 "Anyone, whether Israelite or resident alien, who hunts and catches game, whether animal or bird,which it is lawful to eat, must pour out its blood and cover it with earth.	13 Se um israelita ou um estrangeiro que habita no meio deles capturar na caça um animal ou pássaro que se possa comer, derramará o seu sangue, e o cobrirá com terra,
14 For the life of every creature is its blood, and I have told the Israelites: You wil not consume theblood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood, and anyone who consumes it wil be outlawed.	14 porque a alma de toda carne é o seu sangue, que é sua alma. Eis por que eu disse aos israelitas: não comereis sangue de animal algum, porque a alma de toda carne é o seu sangue; quem o comer será elimitado.
15 "Anyone, citizen or alien, who eats an animal that has died a natural death or been savaged, mustwash clothing and body, and wil be unclean until evening, but wil then be clean.	15 Toda pessoa, natural ou estrangeira, que comer um animal morto ou dilacerado, lavará suas vestes, banhar-se-á em água e ficará impura até a tarde; e depois será pura.
16 But anyone who does not wash clothing and body wil bear the consequences of his guilt." '	16 Mas, se não lavar as vestes e o corpo, levará sobre si a sua iniqüidade."
