Leviticus 17

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore disse a Mosè:
2 'Speak to Aaron and his sons and al the Israelites and say: "This is the order that Yahweh has given:	2 "Parla ad Aronne, ai suoi figli e a tutti i figli d'Israele e di' loro: Questo ha prescritto il Signore:
3 "Any man of the House of Israel who slaughters a bull, lamb or goat, whether inside the camp oroutside it,	3 chiunque della casa d'Israele uccida nel campo un toro o un agnello o un capro o chi lo uccida fuori del campo
4 without bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to make an offering of it to Yahweh in front ofhis Dwel ing, that man wil be answerable for bloodshed; he has shed blood, and that man wil be outlawed fromhis people.	4 e non lo porti all'ingresso della tenda del convegno per farne un'offerta al Signore davanti alla dimora del Signore, quell'uomo sarà considerato reo di sangue: ha sparso sangue e sarà eliminato dal suo popolo.
5 The purpose of this is that the Israelites should instead bring their sacrifices, which they wouldotherwise offer in the countryside, to Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, to the priest, and offer themas communion sacrifices to Yahweh;	5 Perciò i figli d'Israele, invece di offrire i loro sacrifici in campagna, li porteranno al Signore all'ingresso della tenda del convegno, al sacerdote, e ne faranno dei sacrifici di comunione al Signore.
6 and the priest wil sprinkle the blood on Yahweh's altar at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and willburn the fat as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	6 Il sacerdote spargerà il sangue sull'altare del Signore, che sta all'ingresso della tenda del convegno, e brucerà il grasso come odore gradito al Signore.
7 No longer may they offer their sacrifices to the satyrs in whose service they used to prostitutethemselves. This is a perpetual law for them and for their descendants."	7 Non faranno più i loro sacrifici ai satiri, ai quali essi si prostituiscono. Legge eterna sarà questa per loro e le loro generazioni!
8 'You will also say to them, "Any member of the House of Israel or any resident alien who offers a burntoffering or sacrifice	8 Dirai loro: Chiunque della casa d'Israele o fra i residenti in mezzo a loro offra un olocausto o un sacrificio

10 "If any member of the House of Israel or any resident alien consumes blood of any kind, I shal set myface against that individual who consumes blood and shal outlaw him from his people.	10 Chiunque della casa d'Israele o fra i residenti in mezzo a loro mangi del sangue, mi volgerò contro colui che mangia il sangue e lo toglierò via di mezzo al suo popolo.
11 For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you for performing the rite of expiationon the altar for your lives, for blood is what expiates for a life.	11 Infatti la vita dell'essere vivente è nel sangue e io lo do a voi per espiare all'altare per le vostre vite; il sangue infatti, in quanto vita, espia.
12 That is why I told the Israelites: None of you wil consume blood, nor wil any resident alien consumeblood.	12 Per questo ho detto ai figli d'Israele: nessuno fra voi mangi sangue e neanche il residente in mezzo a voi mangi sangue.
13 "Anyone, whether Israelite or resident alien, who hunts and catches game, whether animal or bird,which it is lawful to eat, must pour out its blood and cover it with earth.	13 Chiunque tra i figli d'Israele o residente in mezzo a voi prenderà a caccia un animale o un uccello che è lecito mangiare, ne sparga il sangue e lo ricopra di terra.
14 For the life of every creature is its blood, and I have told the Israelites: You wil not consume theblood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood, and anyone who consumes it wil be outlawed.	14 Infatti la vita di ogni vivente è il suo sangue, in quanto esso è vita; e io ho detto ai figli d'Israele: non mangerete il sangue di nessun vivente, perché la vita di ogni vivente è il suo sangue e chiunque ne mangia sia eliminato.
15 "Anyone, citizen or alien, who eats an animal that has died a natural death or been savaged, mustwash clothing and body, and wil be unclean until evening, but wil then be clean.	15 Chiunque, oriundo del paese o residente, mangi di un animale morto e sbranato, sciacqui le sue vesti e si lavi con acqua; sarà impuro fino alla sera e poi sarà puro.
16 But anyone who does not wash clothing and body wil bear the consequences of his guilt." '	16 Se non sciacquerà le vesti e non si laverà, porterà il peso del suo peccato".
