Isaiah 66

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Thus says Yahweh: With heaven my throne and earth my footstool, what house could you build me,what place for me to rest,	1 Così parla il Signore: "Il cielo è il mio trono, e la terra è lo sgabello dei miei piedi. Quale casa mi costruirete e quale sarà il luogo del mio riposo?
2 when al these things were made by me and al belong to me? - declares Yahweh. But my eyes aredrawn to the person of humbled and contrite spirit, who trembles at my word.	2 Tutte queste cose le ha fatte la mia mano, esse sono mie, oracolo del Signore. Verso chi volgerò lo sguardo? Verso il povero, che ha spirito contrito e che trema alla mia parola.
3 Some slaughter a bul , some kill a human being, some sacrifice a lamb, some strangle a dog, somepresent an offering of pig's blood, some burn memorial incense, a revolting blessing; al these people havechosen their own ways and take delight in their disgusting practices.	3 Chi immola un bue, uccide anche un uomo; chi sacrifica un agnello, strozza anche un cane; chi reca un'offerta, offre anche sangue di porco; chi brucia incenso, venera anche l'iniquità. Essi scelgono le loro vie e la loro anima si compiace delle loro abominazioni.
4 I too take delight in making fools of them, I shal bring what they most fear down on them because Ihave called and no one would answer, I spoke and no one listened. They have done what I regard as evil, havechosen what displeases me.	4 Così anch'io sceglierò le loro sventure e farò piombare su di essi ciò che temono, poiché ho chiamato e nessuno rispose, parlai e nessuno ascoltò. Commisero ciò che è male ai miei occhi e scelsero ciò in cui non mi compiaccio".
5 Listen to the word of Yahweh, you who tremble at his word. Your brothers, who hate and reject youbecause of my name, have said, 'Let Yahweh show his glory, let us witness your joy!' But they will be put toshame.	5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola! Dissero i vostri fratelli, che vi odiano, che vi respingono a causa del mio nome: "Si mostri il Signore nella sua gloria e possiamo vedere la vostra gioia!". Ma essi saranno confusi.
6 Listen! An uproar from the city! A voice from the Temple! The voice of Yahweh bringing retribution onhis enemies.	6 Una voce, un frastuono viene dalla città, una voce viene dal tempio; la voce del Signore, che ripaga i suoi nemici.
7 Before being in labour she has given birth. Before the birth pangs came, she has been delivered of achild.	7 Prima delle doglie essa ha partorito; prima di essere sorpresa dai dolori si è sgravata di un maschio.
8 Who ever heard of such a thing, who ever saw anything like this? Can a country be born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth al at once? For Zion, scarcely in labour, has brought forth her children!	8 Chi ha mai udito una cosa simile? Chi vide cose come queste? E' forse un paese messo al mondo in un sol giorno? E' forse generata una nazione in un istante? Eppure Sion, appena entrata in doglie, partorì i suoi figli.
9 Shal I open the womb and not bring to birth? says Yahweh. Shall I, who bring to birth, close the womb?says your God.	9 Forse che io, che apro il seno, non farò partorire?, dice il Signore. Forse che io, che faccio generare, chiuderò il seno?, dice il tuo Dio.
10 Rejoice with Jerusalem, be glad for her, al you who love her! Rejoice, rejoice with her, al you whomourned her!	10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, esultate per essa, quanti l'amate! Gioite grandemente con essa, voi tutti che siete contristati per essa!
11 So that you may be suckled and satisfied from her consoling breast, so that you may drink deep withdelight from her generous nipple.	11 Affinché siate allattati e saziati alla mammella delle sue consolazioni, affinché succhiate e vi deliziate al seno della sua gloria.
12 For Yahweh says this: Look, I am going to send peace flowing over her like a river, and like a streamin spate the glory of the nations. You wil be suckled, carried on her hip and fondled in her lap.	12 Poiché così parla il Signore: "Ecco, io convoglierò verso di essa la pace a guisa di fiume, come un torrente straripante la gloria delle nazioni. Voi succhierete e sarete portati in braccio, sarete accarezzati sulle ginocchia.
13 As a mother comforts a child, so I shal comfort you; you wil be comforted in Jerusalem.	13 Come un figlio che la madre consola, così anch'io vi consolerò; a Gerusalemme sarete consolati.
14 At the sight your heart wil rejoice, and your limbs regain vigour like the grass. To his servants Yahwehwil reveal his hand, but to his enemies his fury.	14 Vedrete e il vostro cuore gioirà, le vostre ossa prenderanno vigore come erba. La mano del Signore si farà conoscere ai suoi servi e la sua ira ai suoi nemici".
15 For see how Yahweh comes in fire, his chariots like the whirlwind, to assuage his anger with burning,his rebukes with flaming fire.	15 Sì, ecco il Signore viene col fuoco, i suoi carri sono come un turbine, per riversare con sdegno la sua ira e la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.
16 For by fire wil Yahweh execute fair judgement, and by his sword, on all people; and Yahweh's victimswil be many.	16 Sì, il Signore farà giustizia con il fuoco e con la spada su ogni uomo; numerose saranno le vittime del Signore.
17 As for those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to enter the gardens, fol owing the one inthe centre, who eat the flesh of pigs, revolting things and rats: their deeds and their thoughts will perish together,declares Yahweh.	17 Quanti si santificano e si purificano, seguendo nei giardini uno che sta nel mezzo, che mangiano carne suina, abominazioni e topi, insieme finiranno, oracolo del Signore,
18 I am coming to gather every nation and every language. They wil come to witness my glory.	18 con le loro opere e i loro pensieri. "Io verrò a raccogliere tutte le nazioni e tutte le lingue; essi verranno e vedranno la mia gloria.
19 I shal give them a sign and send some of their survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Put, Lud,Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coasts and islands that have never heard of me or seen my glory.They wil proclaim my glory to the nations,	19 Darò loro un segno e invierò alcuni dei loro superstiti verso le nazioni: Tarsis, Put, Lud, Mesech, Ros, Tubal, Grecia, verso le isole lontane, che non hanno udito la mia fama e non hanno visto la mia gloria; essi annunceranno la mia gloria tra le nazioni.
20 and from al the nations they wil bring al your brothers as an offering to Yahweh, on horses, inchariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to my holy mountain, Jerusalem, Yahweh says, like Israelitesbringing offerings in clean vessels to Yahweh's house.	20 Ricondurranno tutti i vostri fratelli da tutte le nazioni come offerta al Signore, su cavalli, su carri, su portantine, su muli e dromedari, al mio santo monte di Gerusalemme, dice il Signore, come i figli d'Israele portano l'offerta in vasi puri al tempio del Signore.
21 And some of them I shal make into priests and Levites, Yahweh says.	21 Anche da essi mi prenderò dei sacerdoti e dei leviti", dice il Signore.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth I am making wil endure before me, declares Yahweh, sowil your race and your name endure.	22 "Sì, come i nuovi cieli e la nuova terra, che io farò, sussistono al mio cospetto, oracolo del Signore, così perdurerà la vostra discendenza e il vostro nome.
23 From New Moon to New Moon, from Sabbath to Sabbath, al humanity wil come and bow in mypresence, Yahweh says.	23 Da novilunio a novilunio e da sabato a sabato ognuno verrà ad adorare davanti a me, dice il Signore.
24 And on their way out they wil see the corpses of those who rebelled against me; for their worm wilnever die nor their fire be put out, and they wil be held in horror by al humanity.	24 Uscendo vedranno i cadaveri degli uomini che si sono ribellati contro di me; poiché il loro verme non morirà, il loro fuoco non si estinguerà e saranno un orrore per tutti".
