Isaiah 66

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Thus says Yahweh: With heaven my throne and earth my footstool, what house could you build me,what place for me to rest,	1 COSÌ ha detto il Signore: Il cielo è il mio trono, e la terra è lo scannello de’ miei piedi; dove è la Casa che voi mi edifichereste? e dove è il luogo del mio riposo?
2 when al these things were made by me and al belong to me? - declares Yahweh. But my eyes aredrawn to the person of humbled and contrite spirit, who trembles at my word.	2 E la mia mano ha fatte tutte queste cose, onde tutte sono state prodotte, dice il Signore; a chi dunque riguarderò io? all’afflitto, ed al contrito di spirito, ed a colui che trema alla mia parola.
3 Some slaughter a bul , some kill a human being, some sacrifice a lamb, some strangle a dog, somepresent an offering of pig's blood, some burn memorial incense, a revolting blessing; al these people havechosen their own ways and take delight in their disgusting practices.	3 Chi scanna un bue mi è come se uccidesse un uomo; chi sacrifica una pecora mi è come se tagliasse il collo ad un cane; chi offerisce offerta mi è come se offerisse sangue di porco; chi fa profumo d’incenso per ricordanza mi è come se benedicesse un idolo. Come essi hanno scelte le lor vie, e l’anima loro ha preso diletto nelle loro abbominazioni,
4 I too take delight in making fools of them, I shal bring what they most fear down on them because Ihave called and no one would answer, I spoke and no one listened. They have done what I regard as evil, havechosen what displeases me.	4 io altresì sceglierò i lor modi di fare, e farò venir sopra loro le cose ch’essi temono; perciocchè, io ho gridato, e non vi è stato alcuno che rispondesse; io ho parlato, ed essi non hanno ascoltato; anzi hanno fatto quello che mi dispiace, ed hanno scelto ciò che non mi aggrada
5 Listen to the word of Yahweh, you who tremble at his word. Your brothers, who hate and reject youbecause of my name, have said, 'Let Yahweh show his glory, let us witness your joy!' But they will be put toshame.	5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola. I vostri fratelli che vi odiano, e vi scacciano per cagion del mio Nome, hanno detto: Apparisca pur glorioso il Signore. Certo egli apparirà in vostra letizia, ed essi saran confusi.
6 Listen! An uproar from the city! A voice from the Temple! The voice of Yahweh bringing retribution onhis enemies.	6 Vi è un suono di strepito ch’esce della città, un romore che esce del tempio; ch’è la voce del Signore, che rende la retribuzione a’ suoi nemici.
7 Before being in labour she has given birth. Before the birth pangs came, she has been delivered of achild.	7 Quella ha partorito innanzi che sentisse le doglie del parto; innanzi che le venissero i dolori, si è sgravidata di un figliuol maschio.
8 Who ever heard of such a thing, who ever saw anything like this? Can a country be born in one day?Can a nation be brought forth al at once? For Zion, scarcely in labour, has brought forth her children!	8 Chi udì mai una cotal cosa? chi vide mai cose simili? potrebbe un paese esser partorito in un giorno? o potrebbe una nazione nascere ad una volta, che Sion abbia sentite le doglie del parto, ed abbia partoriti i suoi figliuoli, come prima ha sentiti i dolori del parto?
9 Shal I open the womb and not bring to birth? says Yahweh. Shall I, who bring to birth, close the womb?says your God.	9 Io, che fo partorire, non potrei io generare? dice il Signore; io, che fo generare, sarei io sterile? dice l’Iddio tuo.
10 Rejoice with Jerusalem, be glad for her, al you who love her! Rejoice, rejoice with her, al you whomourned her!	10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, e festeggiate in essa, voi tutti che l’amate; gioite con lei d’una gran gioia, voi tutti che facevate cordoglio di lei.
11 So that you may be suckled and satisfied from her consoling breast, so that you may drink deep withdelight from her generous nipple.	11 Acciocchè poppiate, e siate saziati della mammella della sue consolazioni; acciocchè mungiate, e godiate dello splendor della sua gloria.
12 For Yahweh says this: Look, I am going to send peace flowing over her like a river, and like a streamin spate the glory of the nations. You wil be suckled, carried on her hip and fondled in her lap.	12 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Ecco, io rivolgo verso lei la pace, a guisa di fiume; e la gloria delle genti, a guisa di torrente traboccato; e voi la succerete, e sarete portati sopra i fianchi, e sarete sollazzati sopra le ginocchia.
13 As a mother comforts a child, so I shal comfort you; you wil be comforted in Jerusalem.	13 Io vi consolerò, a guisa di un fanciullo che sua madre consola; e voi sarete consolati in Gerusalemme.
14 At the sight your heart wil rejoice, and your limbs regain vigour like the grass. To his servants Yahwehwil reveal his hand, but to his enemies his fury.	14 E voi vedrete, e il vostro cuore si rallegrerà, e le vostre ossa germoglieranno come erba; e la mano del Signore verso i suoi servitori sarà conosciuta; ma egli si adirerà contro a’ suoi nemici
15 For see how Yahweh comes in fire, his chariots like the whirlwind, to assuage his anger with burning,his rebukes with flaming fire.	15 Perciocchè, ecco, il Signore verrà con fuoco, ed i suoi carri verranno a guisa di turbo; per rendere l’ira sua con indegnazione e la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.
16 For by fire wil Yahweh execute fair judgement, and by his sword, on all people; and Yahweh's victimswil be many.	16 Perciocchè il Signore farà giudicio con fuoco, e con la sua spada, sopra ogni carne; e gli uccisi dal Signore saranno in gran numero.
17 As for those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to enter the gardens, fol owing the one inthe centre, who eat the flesh of pigs, revolting things and rats: their deeds and their thoughts will perish together,declares Yahweh.	17 Quelli che si santificano, e si purificano ne’ giardini, dietro ad Ahad, nel mezzo; che mangiano carne di porco, e cose abbominevoli, e topi, saran consumati tutti quanti, dice il Signore.
18 I am coming to gather every nation and every language. They wil come to witness my glory.	18 Ora, quant’è a me, essendo tali le loro opere, e i lor pensieri, il tempo viene che io raccoglierò tutte le genti, e lingue; ed esse verranno, e vedranno la mia gloria.
19 I shal give them a sign and send some of their survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Put, Lud,Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coasts and islands that have never heard of me or seen my glory.They wil proclaim my glory to the nations,	19 E metterò in coloro un segnale, e manderò quelli d’infra loro, che saranno scampati, alle genti, in Tarsis, in Pul, ed in Lud, dove tirano dell’arco; in Tubal, ed in Iavan, ed alle isole lontane, che non hanno udita la mia fama, e non hanno veduta la mia gloria; e quelli annunzieranno la mia gloria fra le genti.
20 and from al the nations they wil bring al your brothers as an offering to Yahweh, on horses, inchariots, in litters, on mules and on camels, to my holy mountain, Jerusalem, Yahweh says, like Israelitesbringing offerings in clean vessels to Yahweh's house.	20 E addurranno tutti i vostri fratelli, d’infra tutte le genti, per offerta al Signore, sopra cavalli, in carri, in lettighe, sopra muli, e sopra dromedari, al monte della mia santità, in Gerusalemme, ha detto il Signore; siccome i figliuoli d’Israele portano l’offerta in un vaso netto alla Casa del Signore.
21 And some of them I shal make into priests and Levites, Yahweh says.	21 Ed anche ne prenderò d’infra loro per sacerdoti, e Leviti, ha detto il Signore.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth I am making wil endure before me, declares Yahweh, sowil your race and your name endure.	22 Perciocchè, siccome i nuovi cieli a la nuova terra che io farò, saranno stabili nel mio cospetto, dice il Signore; così ancora sarà stabile la vostra progenie, ed il vostro nome.
23 From New Moon to New Moon, from Sabbath to Sabbath, al humanity wil come and bow in mypresence, Yahweh says.	23 Ed avverrà, che da calendi a calendi, e da sabato a sabato, ogni carne verrà, per adorar nel mio cospetto, ha detto il Signore.
24 And on their way out they wil see the corpses of those who rebelled against me; for their worm wilnever die nor their fire be put out, and they wil be held in horror by al humanity.	24 Ed usciranno, e vedranno i corpi morti degli uomini che saran proceduti dislealmente meco; perciocchè il verme loro non morrà, ed il fuoco loro non sarà spento; e saranno in abbominio ad ogni carne
