Isaiah 5

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Let me sing my beloved the song of my friend for his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a fertilehil side.	1 Eu quero cantar para o meu amigo seu canto de amor a respeito de sua vinha: meu amigo possuía uma vinha num outeiro fértil.
2 He dug it, cleared it of stones, and planted it with red grapes. In the middle he built a tower, he hewed apress there too. He expected it to yield fine grapes: wild grapes were all it yielded.	2 Ele a cavou e tirou dela as pedras; plantou-a de cepas escolhidas. Edificou-lhe uma torre no meio, e construiu aí um lagar. E contava com uma colheita de uvas, mas ela só produziu agraço.
3 And now, citizens of Jerusalem and people of Judah, I ask you to judge between me and my vineyard.	3 E agora, habitantes de Jerusalém, e vós, homens de Judá, sede juízes entre mim e minha vinha.
4 What more could I have done for my vineyard that I have not done? Why, when I expected it to yield finegrapes, has it yielded wild ones?	4 Que se poderia fazer por minha vinha, que eu não tenha feito? Por que, quando eu esperava vê-la produzir uvas, só deu agraço?
5 Very wel , I shal tel you what I am going to do to my vineyard: I shal take away its hedge, for it to begrazed on, and knock down its wal , for it to be trampled on.	5 Pois bem, mostrar-vos-ei agora o que hei de fazer à minha vinha: arrancar-lhe-ei a sebe para que ela sirva de pasto, derrubarei o muro para que seja pisada.
6 I shall let it go to waste, unpruned, undug, overgrown by brambles and thorn-bushes, and I shallcommand the clouds to rain no rain on it.	6 Eu a farei devastada; não será podada nem cavada, e nela crescerão apenas sarças e espinhos; vedarei às nuvens derramar chuva sobre ela.
7 Now, the vineyard of Yahweh Sabaoth is the House of Israel, and the people of Judah the plant hecherished. He expected fair judgement, but found injustice, uprightness, but found cries of distress.	7 A vinha do Senhor dos exércitos é a casa de Israel, e os homens de Judá são a planta de sua predileção. Esperei deles a prática da justiça, e eis o sangue derramado; esperei a retidão, e eis os gritos de socorro.
8 Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field until there is nowhere left and they are thesole inhabitants of the country.	8 Ai de vós, que ajuntais casa a casa, e que acrescentais campo a campo, até que não haja mais lugar, e que sejais os únicos proprietários da terra.
9 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn this in my hearing, 'Many houses wil be brought to ruin, great and fine ones left untenanted;	9 Os meus ouvidos ouviram ainda este juramento do Senhor dos exércitos: Grande número de casas, eu o juro, será devastado, grandes e magníficas herdades ficarão desabitadas.
10 for ten acres of vineyard wil yield only one barrel, and ten bushel of seed wil yield only one bushel.'	10 Dez jeiras de vinha não produzirão mais que um bato, e um homer de semente não dará mais que um efá.
11 Woe to those who get up early to go after strong drink, and stay up late at night inflamed with wine.	11 Ai daqueles que desde a manhã procuram a bebida, e que se retardam à noite nas excitações do vinho!
12 Nothing but harp and lyre, tambourine and pipe, and wine for their drinking bouts. Never a thought forthe works of Yahweh, never a glance for what his hands have done.	12 Amantes da cítara e da harpa, do tamborim e da flauta, e do vinho em seus banquetes, mas para as obras do Senhor não têm um olhar sequer, e não enxergam a obra de suas mãos.
13 That is why my people is in exile, for want of perception; her dignitaries starving, her populace parchedwith thirst.	13 Por causa disso meu povo será desterrado sem nada pressentir. Sua nobreza será atenazada pela fome, e a multidão, mirrada pela sede.
14 That is why Sheol opens wide its throat and gapes with measureless jaw and down go her noblemenand populace and her loud revellers merry to the last!	14 Por isso a morada dos mortos se alargará, e abrirá desmesuradamente a boca. O esplendor {de Sião} e sua multidão barulhenta, seu alvoroço e sua alegria desaparecerão dela.
15 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low, and the eyes of the proud have beenhumbled.	15 O homem será curvado, os grandes serão humilhados, os olhares altivos serão abatidos,
16 Yahweh Sabaoth is the more respected for his judgement, God the Holy One has displayed hisholiness by his justice!	16 e o Senhor dos exércitos triunfará no juízo; o Deus santo mostrar-se-á como tal, fazendo justiça.
17 Now the lambs wil graze in their old pastures, and the fields laid waste by fat cattle wil feed the kids.	17 Os cordeiros serão apascentados nesses lugares como em suas pastagens, e sobre as ruínas pastarão os cabritos.
18 Woe to those who drag guilt along by the reins of duplicity, drag along sin as though with a cart rope;	18 Ai daqueles que arrastam a correção com as cordas da indisciplina, e a pena do pecado como com os tirantes de um carro!
19 to those who say, 'Why doesn't he do his work quickly so that we can see it; why doesn't the Holy Oneof Israel's design hurry up and come true so that we can experience it?'	19 {Ai} daqueles que dizem: Que ele se avie, que faça já sua obra, a fim de que a vejamos. Que o plano do Santo de Israel se execute para que o conheçamos!
20 Woe to those who cal what is bad, good, and what is good, bad, who substitute darkness for light andlight for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.	20 Ai daqueles que ao mal chamam bem, e ao bem, mal, que mudam as trevas em luz e a luz em trevas, que tornam doce o que é amargo, e amargo o que é doce!
21 Woe to those who think themselves wise and believe themselves enlightened.	21 Ai daqueles que são sábios aos próprios olhos, e prudentes em seu próprio juízo!
22 Woe to those whose might lies in wine bibbing, their heroism in mixing strong drinks,	22 Ai daqueles que põem sua bravura em beber vinho, e sua coragem em misturar licores;
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deny justice to the upright.	23 {ai} daqueles que, por uma dádiva, absolvem o culpado, e negam justiça àquele que tem o direito a seu lado!
24 Yes, as the flame devours the stubble, as the straw flares up and disappears, their root wil be likedecay and their shoot be carried off like dust, for having rejected the law of Yahweh Sabaoth, for havingdespised the word of the Holy One of Israel.	24 Por isso, assim como a palhoça é devorada por uma língua de fogo, e como a palha é consumida pela chama, assim a raiz deles sucumbirá na podridão e sua flor voará como a poeira, porque repudiaram a lei do Senhor dos exércitos, e desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.
25 This is why Yahweh's anger has blazed out against his people; and he has raised his hand againstthem to strike them; why the mountains have shuddered and why corpses are lying like dung in the streets. Afteral this, his anger is not spent. No, his hand is stil raised!	25 Por isso o furor do Senhor se inflama contra seu povo, apodera-se dele e o castiga; os montes tremem, seus cadáveres, como carniça, jazem nas ruas. Entretanto, sua cólera não se aplacou, e sua mão está prestes a precipitar-se.
26 He hoists a signal for a distant nation, he whistles them up from the ends of the earth; and see howswift, how fleet they come!	26 Ele arvora uma bandeira para chamar uma nação longínqua, assobia para fazê-la vir dos confins da terra, e ei-la que, ágil, acorre às pressas.
27 None of them tired, none of them stumbling, none of them asleep or drowsy, none of them with beltunfastened, none of them with broken sandal-strap.	27 Ninguém dentre eles se arrasta ou tropeça, ninguém dorme nem cochila; ninguém desata a cinta de seus rins, nem desaperta a correia dos sapatos.
28 Their arrows are sharpened, their bows al strung, their horses' hoofs you would think were flint andtheir wheels, a whirlwind!	28 Agudas são as suas flechas e todos os seus arcos, entesados. Os cascos de seus cavalos são {duros} como a pederneira, e as rodas de seus carros assemelham-se à tempestade.
29 Their roar is like that of a lioness, like fierce young lions they roar, growling they seize their prey andcarry it off, with no one to prevent it,	29 É {como} o rugido da leoa, e o rosnar do leãozinho. Ele brame e agarra a sua presa, e a carrega sem que ninguém lha arrebate.
30 growling at it, that day, like the growling of the sea. Only look at the country: darkness and distress, andthe light turned to darkness by the clouds.	30 Naquele tempo, um estrondo, semelhante ao bramido do mar, retumbará contra ele. Quando olhar a terra, só verá trevas e angústia, e no céu se estenderão nuvens tenebrosas.
